Looks like everyone had fun today. Furnace company came out. New furnace to be installed on Tuesday, just before the temps are due to plummet towards the end of the week. Thank the Lord for taking care of us. Also for a great company who dropped the cost significantly. My daughter had hers replaced by them and she's been in a position to send them more customers . A win for everyone all around.
Finished the replay tonight. Mariah, I particularly loved the not-card with the snowflakes, the embossing, and the blue tree! And YAY for hitting 10,000!!
When I really want control over my splatter, I use one of two Tim Holtz stencils with ink or embossing ink, though as you've shown, watercolor could work, too. Embossing water requires more speed and coordination than I posses and would depend on how fast the substrate absorbs.
I have thoughts on that card at 1:12. I love the plaid. (I love those so much I was working on one in my studio last night with a gel print and some Neocolor Is.) I like the whimsy of the tree stamps. The colors on the trees don't work for me with that plaid, though it might be better IRL than it comes across in video (which can really mess up some colors). I would have taken a different path (probably toning down the trees). I'm all for contrast, but value contrast and hue contrast and mood contrast are a bit too much for me. Glad others enjoy it. I'm judge-y, but I try to be constructive and kind.
For newer Mac computers, the restart & total shutdown serve different purposes. You should do a total shut down every couple weeks. I was a Mac Tech for a school district for 22 years.😊
Hi, I just wanted to pop in and let you know that I usually watch the streams either live or on replay while I am working around the house, but on my Kindle where I don't see the chat or like to comment because of the teeny keyboard. I have no idea which stream, but I loved your remark that P & M projects aren't a sprint or even cross country, but more like a nomadic tribe. I enjoy being a part of the tribe, even if I'm often a quiet part. Too bad you can't hear all of the witty rejoiners and pithy suggestions I make in my head as I watch.
Is your new Epson Printer an ink jet? Does it smear-i-fy if you use gel medium over it? Or glue. Or textured Gesso? Or something else ... wet?f The prints look gorgeous! Is Queen P's spirit animal hibernating for the winter? Had a blast watching you not make cards again!! ❤
Hey Deb, So the key to keeping ink from smearing or bleeding is to let it dry a day or so... it really does make a difference. That being said remind me today and I will have P show glue, medium and water on them. I will even have one printed fresh to show the difference.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THIS STREAM?
My favorite part was using the tree stamps in different ways!
don't make me choose ;)
The torn trees, and then stamping onto them. But the not-card stamping design in general was also useful. Thanks.
Learning how to emboss with paint. Didn't know that was possible.
@@PMartistStudio I loved the trees. Some resembled chillipeppers 🌶️. A spicy Christmas
