It's amazing to watch Chris Thile sitting in the background as the song builds. He looks like he's busting at the seams to jump up and join this amazing piece. Hawktail is a great band and Paul Kowert continues to blow me away every so subtlety.
I learned what beautiful music, collaboration, and true musicianship are the night I saw Hawktail and Aoife O'Donovan play together at the American Legion in Nashville, TN, celebrating Aoife's album "All My Friends." If this album doesn't win a Grammy award, something is wrong.
It's like opening your eyes to a beautiful sunrise while breathing in a misty morning...to stand and stretch your legs...then for no reason tearing down the mountainside at a full sprint just because your young and alive and it's worth more than just a smile
My first exposure to Hawktail, although I have admired the work of Brittany Haas and Paul Kowert in other bands. A really nice piece of music, well played.
In one season, Brittany Haas and Paul Kowert have performed with two different groups (Hawktail and Dave Rawlings Machine) that were on the show. They are also regulars in the Live From Here house band. Has to be some sort of a record.
What a stunningly and achingly gorgeous tune!!
I hope I'm watching live when Brittany Haas finally just levitates off the stage and plays while floating in mid-air.
Call it "Chamber Americana" -- Hawktail comprises America's answer to Sweden's wonderful Vasen.

The restrained but steady growth of intensity is simply wonderful musicianship. Love it.

My smile got wider and wider as this composition built. Just superb musicians and writers. Can't wait to see you in Minneapolis in August!
Good Lord......made me cry my eyes out...so beautiful. 😊😊👋👋👋👋👋❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yeah! Very nice! when I was in Advertising School that was the highest compliment..."that's nice!".

Wonderful! And just at the end, for a moment, Paul smiled!

And Paul Kowert is also a regular member of the Punch Brothers 🙂
What everyone else said...😍
We are truly a broken people when we are stopped from celebrating music and performance artistry.
If we cannot help people by upholding their artistry and teaching other people, we have NO purpose.
