I love evertything about this video. The time of year, the time of day, the gloom, the warmth of a sweater in fall, the beautiful historic houses in view. All capped off with a beautiful and hauting performance by the Haas sisters. Thank you for this. I come back often to re-experience this. I can't wait to see your Wintergrass perfomances in a month!
Here we've got two highly skilled people with obvious affection for each other listening carefully to each other and working together to create a moving performance. And it's cool that they did it on a roof. I just wonder how the world can be so screwed up when there are things like this happening in it.
After watching your left hand technique in your opening pizzicato, I'm certain there is a mandolin hiding in there somewhere. ;-) Velsignelser til deg, Brittany!
Alchemical gold for the heart and soul. Bottle this on a Hawktail album and sell it as a Cure-All tonic so we can always have it ready when we need it. This is THE song that made me a Haas fan!
When she played w/ Dave Rawlings and Gillian, she was great and I realized I'd seen her before. I like the way she looks and I like the part of her that comes out in her playing. Kind of complex.
Well, that's a masterpiece for sure, in every aspect of the production. I always admired your virtuoso playing as well as that of your sister, and really dig hearing you play together.
I've been plunking this out and transcribing it. It seems like except for this video, it only exists on some funky Väsen reissue I can't find. How did this song find its way to you? Given y'all's place in the music world, maybe you learned it from Roger Tallroth at a party someplace. =) Anyway, it's beautiful, and maybe me and my spouse can have some fun with it.
Yes, learned it from Roger Tallroth on a gig I got to play with him, Annbjorg Lien, and Tristan Clarridge! In Norway!! It's been one of my favorite tunes ever since. There may be a live recording of Annbjorg and Roger performing it...
Can I ask the city or town where this was filmed? It's an amazing setting with the tree growing above the rooftop, but the location also has a Silence of the Lambs vibe to it, with the types of houses. Post-industrial midwest I'm guessing.
OK Brittas - let's get this channel huuge!!! start posting more vids from your iphone/samsung so you have a place to market all your Hawktail stuff. All UA-cam vids with you in it - are huge. You have a massive following on here. Just post vids and your fans will find it - I'll even start writing in the comments of any video of you I come across. I wrote a blog post on the top violinist and fiddlers on YOuTube and I put you in it - I'll have to update it and say that you now have an active Public UA-cam Channel
I loved your playing Brittany, with your sister, but tell your video producer Greg Liszt to learn how to add some light to the foreground and ignore his exposures from the surroundings, an overcast day, and buy a better microphone.

Under a big, healthy American elm. Deeply rooted. Breathtaking music.
Sounding Great! 👍
I doubt they have any clue how much joy and solace they bring to the hearts of their hearers. They're probably just having fun.
Both, as always. 🙂
Music and production, gorgeous all around.
Trevligt!
Vem skulle inte vilja komma hem?
Everything about this video is beautiful and inspirational!!!
Roger Tallroth composes such great tunes! Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful playing....
Simply wonderful.
I wish that you two were MY sisters. Family get-togethers would sound like this.
Nice to see that Greg Liszt is as good with the video as he is with the banjo!
Wow... that was beautiful in every way. Thank you...
love the autumnal vibe of this, beautiful music, landscape, sisters.
A little touch of sanity and grace. Very nice.
I just closed my eyes and drifted off into a peaceful state and let the two of you take me there .
Thak you.
Lovely!

"Fiddler(s) on the Roof".. Very Nice Natalie and Brittany
I just became a new fan of Brittany after seeing her play with Sarah J.....lucky me
When she played w/ Dave Rawlings and Gillian, she was great and I realized I'd seen her before. I like the way she looks and I like the part of her that comes out in her playing. Kind of complex.
Amazing I give both of you a yellow rose
all those little windows with their own stories... love it
Such music touches parts of the soul nothing else can reach

Thank you for posting such a beautiful duet!! Is Kom Hem a Hebrew song? What does the name mean? Love it!!😇🥰
It is a Swedish tune written by Roger Tallroth, a beautiful musician and composer! It means "Come Home" :)

Lovely piece by two wonderful talents. A beautifully produced video to boot. Anyone know where this video was shot? Looks familiar.
Somerville Massachusetts!
Love this! (Cool dissonance at 2:40.) (And wondering how you got such a good recording on a windy roof!)
That landscape reminds me of Pieter Bruegal the elders, painting "The hunters in the snow". check it out
Is there any way to get the sheet music to this melody? I could take the time to learn by ear, but it would be so much easier to have the music.
Hey Katie, not aware of any notation of this piece but it might exist. You could ask the composer, Roger Tallroth! tallroth.se/contact.html

Hi Tom, it was filmed in Somerville, Massachusetts!

I’m jealous of your neighbors!!!....
I would have shot this video a full f/stop brighter.
