It's been almost two and a half years since my wife passed away. Tonight, finding an old digital camera, I came across some old pictures of her when we visited my mom in Florida for Thanksgiving 2016. I started to spiral into a dark spot again, and then I remembered this song. It was one that she'd really enjoyed. And it's really apt right now, and I'm thankful for that. Cheers.
30yrs I've been a fan, happy to announce they'll be my 1st concert in 2021. Their music has provided an awesome soundtrack for me personally, I hope it did and does the same for you.
I was just a kid when horrible things happen to me. Americana was my first offspring shortly after bad things happened to me. The kids aren't alright saved me. And dex hasn't stopped saving me.
This song gives me the feeling that even though some happy moments that we had are over, we should still be happy because it happened, and not to spend all of your time looking back, because if you do that, you won't have time to make new memories. That's how I interpreted the song. It's a great song.
Certainly their best song ever. Heard it for the very first time live at an Offspring concert, and I have been hooked ever since. I love to listen to this song when I am in my car, out on the open road. A great driving song.
i love this song....hard to watch vid though.....dexter holland looks just like my dad...i lost him to cancer in november.. he was in a nursing home long after brain surgery. they said he wasnt the same after...but he was still able to bust out laughing ..in church no less.....scary place for me. he astill recognized me as his one and only son...up until his death...i never got to know him that well as i wanted to....i wasted so much time!! i hated going to that nursing home, knowing he would never get out. he had schizophrenia, and he was a vietnam vet. even though i didnt get to know him....i remembered the horrors he must have faced driving long trips alone just to see me...for just a little bit, then drive back.....with schizophrenia, panic attacks, and a massive tumor growing in his brain ......when i recalled what he did.....i felt his love for me..i cried my eyes out...really hard. i know he loved me....thats all that matters now. 3 days b4 he died i visited him for the last time, cause i might not be able to again, i took my guitar with me....only time he ever heard me play.....he smiled.
Sorry to hear about your loss man, and struggle. My pops looks a lot like Kid Rock(and yes i love old school k-rock and got him into him as well in the late 90's. When I lose him if I live that long, It'd be very hard to listen or see kid rock). This is a band he turned me on to in the 90's. I hope I can remember this song when that time comes, because it has the heart and uplift to help cope.
I feel like this is such an under-appreciated song. It feels like The Offspring are growing as a band, and we get to hear about their journey through their music. Damn good stuff, sir.
while i agree with you, they still made cruising california. but even though its a joke song its still really fucking bad, but you know not all songs are great. even the best of bands make some of the worst songs
with cruising california they just tried to mimick california gurls and all that steretypical californian pop, and it still ended up being better than 99% of it
They got a bit serious but a fun album again and this generation will have no choice but to listen too it cause mum and dad will be cranking it. Maybe a #1 hit single (kids) just get off your ass!!!
Before I divorced a mentally deranged and acutely cruel ex wife and moved to a much uglier place with a lot more money, the southwest desert was my stomping ground. Years later it still haunts my dreams almost every night. I've liked this song since it came out, but now it's bizarrely good for reminiscing when I miss pretty landscapes, nice weather, classic cars, road trips that don't suck, etc.
Wow... just... wow. That's Pioneertown and Pappy & Harriet's in the video. My backyard as a kid. That song with that location makes me tear up every single time. Well done. #fighton Dexter! USC baby!!!
This is my favourite song by offspring. As a guitarist, learning everyday, it's so much fun to play. Great melody. And the guitar riff is killer ! Relate to the lyrics too. Just brilliant!!!
Here I am looking back on 2017 and this song brought me to tears just now. I've been betrayed by people I put a lot of trust in and had to cut a lot of ties this year, I failed at almost every goal I had set for myself, and realized there's going to be things I may never succeed in no matter how much I try, but... I'm seeing that I'm getting a new chance at certain things and that as long as I'm still alive, there's still hope.
2017 was one of the worst years of my life. I understand what you're saying. But you know what? The days go by and we all start again. Be strong. You can do it
2018 for me. And ironically, getting divorced from a backstabbing narcissistic monster cost me living in and perpetually enjoying Arizona and the Southwest overall. Had to move to the Midwest to get a sufficently good job, away from low border wages, nestled with the auto industry. The song and video basically tell my story. Miss the southwest badly.
I'm glad people came to like this song over time. I remember the visceral reaction a lot of fans had to it when it was knew. There were so many negative reactions to the song and i just didn't get it.
Run to the light It won't save you tonight All our yesterdays are pictures lost in time Never enough Towers crumble to dust Looking back on the moments of our lives [Chorus] All your anger, all your hurt Doesn't matter in the end Those days go by And we all start again What you had and what you lost They're all memories in the wind Those days go by And we all start again [Verse 2] Stars still burn bright Seasons change overnight As we find our way, the times, they come and go Look back in love A new day rises above With a wind that comes to carry you back home [Chorus] [Bridge] Days go by! I just turned thirty five back in August. Listening to the message in this song and thinking about what's going on now. This gives me hope for a better future.
I’m 54 started listening to the Offspring when u all in nappies or in your mothers womb , I feel sorry u grew up in wrong era , todays stuff has got nothing on 90’s rock
Such a wonderfully put together song, it combines the old school Offspring sound with such a mature and easily understood lyrical masterpiece... and that guitar rift, magical. This is their best song in nearly 20 years.
This is one of their best songs, The tone of the guitars, the vocals, the lyrics, the drums are spot on, The way it was mixed, Great song. The Offspring, really never sold out, and they just do their own thing each album. Which is great.
Dont know why, i listened to these guys when i was 14, 15 years old and never since. Now 21 years later im listening again and lovin it. A true awesome band
I love so many songs from the Offspring, but this one has become my absolute favorite. To me, this song demonstrates how much this band has grown. I look forward to hearing more songs like this one in future albums! Keep it coming guys, YOU ROCK!
This song really makes me go into a nostalgic, reflexive mood, thinking about what has happened and what life could have been like if i chose some things differently, tried some things that i haven't had the courage to do... But sheds a light on the future, thinking about the past with love and trying to live the most of every day, as the days go by, like the song says. Though i just love their "heavier" sound, this is my preferred song from The Offspring to this day.
This song got me through the anxiety of starting middle school. I remember the car ride to school hearing this and realizing that everything was gonna be ok. Now looking back at those days I remember all the feels. I remember how I was a kid stepping into a bigger world. Crazy how now I kinda feel nostalgic over all that.
Man this song really expresses memories and nostalgia. Especially with places and people who’ve mattered to you a lot during anytime of your life and how you can’t go back nor recreate it. Don’t cry cuz it’s over guys. Smile because it happened to you. You could have done something in your life that would’ve caused you to never experience those memories and experiences. Be happy where life has been and is taking you. Happy or not your past has helped build you and will keep shaping. Live in the present! You’ll never know how much your life now could mean in twenty years. Cherish the good. Learn from the bad.

This song man, it . . . touches me, but in ways that I feel that I shouldn't touched in. Y'know what I mean? Like a part of you that is changed once touched there, but can never be changed back, even though you want it to . . . I not only feel loss but something else, I feel all the things I loved, the things I lost, the things I hate, and the things I had, which makes me think . . . what . . . do I . . . have? What have I done? What have I loved? I know I shouldn't worry about the "End", because when those days go by . . . we all start again, but I think to myself "what is there to return to"? War? Hate? Death? Ignorance? Lies? Betrayal? Racism? Economical collapse? A planet full of dead eyed weirdos? Pedophilia? Necrophilia? Beasteality? Theft? Vandalism? Murder? We have solutions to all these problems, but instead. everyone's like "No problems? SCREW THAT!" So why would I want to live a boring, meaningless, and horrible life in which I and everyone else has no power over their actions, and no one learns from their mistakes, just to die and do it all over again, and again, and again with no improvement? I'd rather go full fucking Cheney, grab a potatoe gun and load it with frozen hot dogs before "Resetting" . . . again!
Offspring es un grupazo, abarca una gran cantidad de géneros ( Rock Duro, Punk , Punk Rock , Ska Punk , Heavy Metal , Rock, Hardcore, Grunge, Alternativo entre tantas otras..... Come To Chile !
I'm a fully grown adult man, and out of thousands of songs that you'd think would make me emotional before this one, days go by always does it for some reason. The transience of life is such a cliche and overplayed theme, but somehow this song really seems to touch its essence for me personally.
LYRICS TAKES ME TO A DIFFERENT UNIVERSE & I RISE FULL OF ELECTRIC INTENSITY! THIS BAND- JUST THE MOST COMPLETE BAND OF ENERGY...I WANT TO SOAR WITH THEIR SOUND!
The fact that this song has only 176k views, and a Justin Bieber song can get that many views in one day... WTF is wrong with kids these days? This is one of the Offspring's greatest songs ever, and far better than anything on the top 40 today.
The song was reloaded on UA-cam in 2017. Before there were way more views. The kids nowadays don't appreciate sincere pure songs. They like songs with empty meanings more.
I hit the random button on my apple music the other day and this song came on... needless to say I'M HOOKED 😆 I love the offspring! the music video is just how I pictured it in my head. I love these type of "cruising down the highway with the windows down and reminiscing" songs. Has a good message to.. Let go of the past and start everyday fresh.
This song is criminally underrated. One of their best songs ever. Makes me smile.
Times Like These by the Foo Fighters is a great song. I agree.

Offspring es un grupazo, abarca una gran cantidad de géneros ( Rock Duro, Punk , Punk Rock , Ska Punk , Heavy Metal , Rock, Hardcore, Grunge, Alternativo entre tantas otras..... Come To Chile !
David Antonio cuál es el tema más cercano al metal según tu? (Es una pregunta de verdad, no te la tomes mal xdxd)
x lo menos para mi bro, Bad Habit de Smash
David Antonio bad Habit es Punk
Good is good ! This song is good so good is definitely good!
best song from nhl 13
I'm inspired to start anew again. Just going through a crisis I guess.
This is encouraging to listen to.
New album for 2018 coming
Yeah
That's a cool
yeah, but when?
ну наконец-то
need it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm a fully grown adult man, and out of thousands of songs that you'd think would make me emotional before this one, days go by always does it for some reason. The transience of life is such a cliche and overplayed theme, but somehow this song really seems to touch its essence for me personally.
i just studied the lyrics , damn so true ...tears OMG !
This band was way ahead of its time
Love these guys!!!
LYRICS TAKES ME TO A DIFFERENT UNIVERSE & I RISE FULL OF ELECTRIC INTENSITY! THIS BAND- JUST THE MOST COMPLETE BAND OF ENERGY...I WANT TO SOAR WITH THEIR SOUND!
2:44 When you heard this scream, you know it's The Offspring
I am sorry for everyone's lost. days do go by and time will pass. those remembered will endure because we keep them alive as part of us.
“It’s times like these you learn to love again” ... whoops wrong song... or is it
I really have to compare these songs now lol
Nope, wrong song.
Lol that's what I thought at first
I hear more of No Way Back in the song, since both choruses use a D-A-E-B progression there.
I also was thinking of FF for the very first tact. It's more rock then punk, but it's still great offspring!
IT'S TIMES LIKE THEEESE YOU LEARN TO LIVE AGAIIIIN
The fact that this song has only 176k views, and a Justin Bieber song can get that many views in one day... WTF is wrong with kids these days? This is one of the Offspring's greatest songs ever, and far better than anything on the top 40 today.
Roo H the kids arent allright
Kap Knul Yelp, haha
The song was reloaded on UA-cam in 2017. Before there were way more views.
The kids nowadays don't appreciate sincere pure songs. They like songs with empty meanings more.
This song gives hope!!
Anyone here in 2024?
Yes. Here :)
Yesss
😢
👍
Here!
Horns up buddy!
