Still makes my legs want to run for the dance floor 😂
There's something about this era of music that just can't be replicated no matter how hard people try. I'm always going to be thankful that I was able to grow up as a kid listening to music that had heart and soul written in it. I'll miss those days...
This music just can't be made in this economy. People used to go out and buy tapes or CDs of bands that played some really cool concert and then everyone just passed the info to their friends and family. Now you try to search for a band on youtube and you get suggestions of more popular bands that just paid more for the ads.
If everything was treated as equal, people would be much more exposed to these classics and they would literally have billions of views.
@@adam145 I kind of like how records are making a comeback but holy crap they're overly priced as hell... I still buy CDs time to time sometimes those can be super cheap, I just find the sound to be better on CDs than digital, also I like having physical copies of things that I can actually hold, trade, and look at, the joy of music was having to go out, socialize and talk about music with others as you searched in the store for something, those days are gone sadly.
This reminds me of the late Joel Schumacher’s Batman films. Particularly Forever.
Our job is to keep this music alive by streaming it as often as possible and supporting the group 💜 We gotta educate the new generation on what real music is
Do the times make the people or do people make the times?
Sometimes I think this song smells even more like teen spirit than that other one.
You should slap yourself
Now that you mention it I believe I'll listen to that next
A strong smell of teen spirit with a hint of lithium.
One hundred thousand!
Perhaps it kinda sums up Kurt and Courtneys relationship
This track will make any 90s kid scream inside from nostalgia. We really grew up in the best era guys 🤘🏻

I wrote her off for the tenth time today
And practiced all the things I would say
But she came over, I lost my nerve
I took her back and made her dessert
Now I know I'm being used
That's okay, man, 'cause I like the abuse
I know she's playing with me
That's okay 'cause I got no self-esteem
We make plans to go out at night
I wait 'til 2 then I turn out the light
This rejection's got me so low
If she keeps it up I just might tell her so
When she's saying that she wants only me
Then I wonder why she sleeps with my friends
When she's saying that I'm like a disease
Then I wonder how much more I can spend
Well, I guess I should stick up for myself
But I really think it's better this way
The more you suffer
The more it shows you really care
Right? Yeah, yeah, yeah
Now I'll relate this little bit
That happens more than I'd like to admit
Late at night she knocks on my door
She's drunk again and looking to score
Now I know I should say "No"
But it's kind of hard when she's ready to go
I may be dumb but I'm not a dweeb
I'm just a sucker with no self-esteem
When she's saying that she wants only me
Then I wonder why she sleeps with my friends
When she's saying that I'm like a disease
Then I wonder how much more I can spend
Well, I guess I should stick up for myself
But I really think it's better this way
The more you suffer
The more it shows you really care

These Californian pop punk bands really have that teenager feel to them. It's way better than I remember it being.
You know the offspring are punk rock
They're Scottish.
The fact that this band can do a song as "stoopid" and "slacker" and goofy and F-it-all FUN as this one is, and then turn around and drop something as touching and profound as "Gone Away," speaks volumes about their chops. And in both cases, Volume is what's up.

This song just shows that women are not the only ones who can get abused in a relationship.
i don't think abuse is a gender thing.. it's an individual thing, it's not men vs women, it's abusive assholes vs the people they try to control
Yea... But people shouldn't need a music to know this. It's just plain obvious.
OK! job
Pretty sure NINs first 3 albums were related to the following:
1. Fucked up / Abusive relationship (Pretty Hate Machine)
2. The aftermath of said relationship (Broken)
3. The aftermath continued through drug abuse and other self-hatred (The Downward Spiral)
solve this problem: don't get into relationships!!! learn to be strong and independent.. I'm a delicate girl to an extent and an easy target for controlling men, I've been there a few times.. but the way I see it, no relationship no abuse. period.

This is one of those songs wherein the group actually created something bigger than they could have ever realized or imagined, but it also typically happens that way because they at least know it's good the moment they playback their recording of it. I mean, most artists know what they're capable of for the most part. This is the absolute peak for the Offspring, the measure by which you can judge any song after it and supposedly upcoming (IDK if they're still together and/or putting out new material) songs. This is one of the best rock bands ever. If you like it, then everything is allright with you.

The 90s best decade for music especially grunge and rock as well as few other genres, I'm so privileged to of been in my teens through out that decade.
What happened to grunge, New metal?

Facts
Believe to this day, "Smash" is still the best selling album on an indie label.
This sound expresses what I miss most about the 90s.
It seems like these "older" bands had a lot more intelligent and meaningful things to say. Makes listening to them way more gratifying.
Especially with this band. Seeing as the singer/songwriter is an actual genius.
Acctualy music was better back than
nah dude if you just put the tiniest bit of effort in looking for good bands/songwriters rn there a fuck ton of them. Thios song holds memories for me too and i love it, but your assessment is just. Dont you think people 20 years ago said the same thing? Like "the offspring" wasnt loked down upon by fans of the Rolling Stones, The Who or Led Zeppelin. The key to enjoying music is to stop trying to compare different generations and just be happy that every generation has a unique style to express themselves
Dude that bullshit. I listen to stuff from 60's up to 2010. Saying today music is crap is wrong. Have you not heard any of billie eilish stuff. She sings about climate change, depression and her night terrors, and other stuff it's not all ducking boohs and shotting. So get off your ducking high horse and check your age grandpa. Because you sound just like the the Boomers when we where growing up.
Dustin Mccollum You need to work on your trolling skills, pleb.
The bassline on this totally reminds me of Teen Spirit!
coy clown the rhythm is similar and not the same. besides that there's only a slight resemblance in song structure. chord progression and keys are different.
Tell me music in the 90's were amazing without telling me music in the 90's were amazing.
When I was a kid my dad always used to blast offspring songs in the car while we were riding around, and now, thanks to him I listen to some of the greatest music. Thanks dad!
That's pretty cool
relatable
Same except it was my older brother.
