3:00 Funny thing. I just read the book that this bit comes from. They not only "threatened retribution," but levelled a house and killed several people when nobody came forward within two minutes to claim responsibility for the bombing. Then they moved to the next house and said if nobody came forward in the NEXT two minutes this house is next.
Mad Dog Swap the LRM20's for LRM15's. Needs less ammo, produces less heat. Leaves room for more ammo and cooling. For a NEGLIGIBLE reduction in Long Range firepower but much more sustain.
or eaven lrm-15 artemis for more effective dps, my experience is that lrm-15 artemis vs lrm-20 is about same effective dps but they do weigh less and eat less ammo. not sure in MW5 clans but seems likely.
You need mech components for the damage reduction upgrades. Those upgrades are very important and the level 3 versions use a lot of mech components. Also, the high tier weapon upgrades often use a few mech components in addition to a moderate amount of weapon components.
Check out TTB as well. He's fun to watch. There's a few others out there who are real informative AND entertaining Mechwarrior channels out there...just can't think right nw codeine is making me sluggish -__-
@RivaxOnline TTB is great. I've gotten so much better at MWO thanks to his videos. And now he's giving good tips for this game too. PGI is lucky to have him as a content creator.
The novel Lethal Heritage shows how that monk from the briefing gets killed. Shin Yodama observes from a basement window how he gets his head shot off by Smoke Jaguar infantry.
Nice to see you react this awesome machine. Though if you want some more accurate missiles I recommend upgrading to Artemis LRM's because the increase in missile accuracy is substantial.
I've never watched videos of people playing a game in years. It was ffxiv and nothing until I came across your videos for MWC's. I have to stop watching, so I stop spoilers because you've convinced me that I must pick this up for myself.
@helcarloki1887 i did but as a newcomer to the series, I was overwhelmed and the movement system was tough for me to get used too. I'm hoping clans alternate mobility option will let me grapple with other things before learning the "old school" movement style.
Couple of tips Bara! 1: you should only be assigning the mech YOU plan to use for the mission to yourself, it is not good to drop in then swap. Remember that your pilots are stronger with certain mechs and equipment. If you switch to their mech, they are stuck in a mech that is ill-suited causing them to underperform. And sometimes lose parts of their mech as a consequence!!! 2: Remember to spend those Kerenskies on MORE MECHS!! The more of the same mech you have in your star, the quicker they obtain XP and you can unlock omnipods! (NOTE: once you unlock an omnipod, the ENTIRE SET is unlocked. Not just the component you were trying to replace. Buying them all can give you some very unique builds.) 3: Take note of the tonnage limit per mission. That is there for a reason. If it wasn't obvious from the first few invasion missions, you have a LOT thrown at you ALL the time. You need to make sure you can meet the tonnage limit for each mission, to ensure you bring in as much firepower/armor as you possibly can. The missions going forward will only be more and more demanding... great video as always
Is 1 really the way it works? When he swaps to another 'mech, it says Jayden is still piloting the one he left behind. Shouldn't Jayden's stats still be applying to it?
I've done like 15 hours undertonnage. Sometimes the lighter mechs just perform better. My 12ERS nova is better in most ways to a stormcrow for example.
@@imperiallarch7610 oddly enough, yes. It should. But later on after the mission, the stats applied to Jayden, instead of the pilot I switched to. As far as I've seen it only happens with Jayden. Others have switched before, and I've even had a full star get COMPLETELY mixed up from the mechs I put them in. Not sure if it is a bug or not, but better to be safe than sorry!
@edinalewis4704 After reinstalling the game, it works now. Before it did not. My pilots kept getting switched even without swapping mechs... might have been a bug on my end, as well as some other glitches.
don't sleep on the M pulse lasers. Doing the same damage as the ER M Laser with shorter cool down and generating just over half the heat as the ER laser means you can out DPS and out sustain the ER M laser, and it still has good range.

49:00 The things I remember from MW2 was that the machine guns had a cooling effect and every round has a chance to crit a slot. Makes them great for small fast mechs, but not so much for mechs that can carry a heavier, AC/2 or something.
I like the laser visual bug. Its more real to the books where you couldn't track the laser beams path, only see the damage it would deal to the target armor!

The advancement in this game feels very off and I really don't like it. The game does a lot of things right. It has the best and most grounded story-line of any mechwarrior game I've played. It has great visuals, it's fairly performant on modern hardware, and the AI feels much improved over previous entries in the series. Everything outside of combat feels awful though. You advance at the exact rate the devs want you to which they control via a bunch of different micro-currencies most of which are directly tied to story progression. Honor, xp, research points, mech parts, equipment parts, weapon parts, kerenskies, etc. All of these currencies are just sliders the devs can use to make sure you progress exactly at the pace they intend you to. Most of them just lead to the game drowning you in meaningless decisions for small general bonuses while cutting you off from any control over how you actually unlock content. I find pretty much everything about it to be frustrating and lazy. Having all weapon systems available from the start in near limitless supply and making all mechs work with the omni system has also clearly had an effect on how they've had to balance weapons overall. Hence why an LRM 20 and 4 LRM 5s are basically equivalent in terms of weight, heat, fire rate, damage, etc. If they wanted to move away from salvage to do something that felt more in-line with the clans then that's fine. The problem isn't that they removed salvage, it's that they've replaced what was functional and immersive but sometimes flawed system with a worse and lazier one which feels like a chore to interact with.
Too bad the clans don't have neurotic implants and are not ripped and buff like they should be . A bunch of wimps... it kills the immersion for me kinda sad
It just occured to me why i don't really like the game. Way too streamlined. The fun part with MW was always the tinkering with your mechs and how to make them work with what you got. But in MWC, you got everything. You don't have to find mechs, you just unlock them. You don't need to make due with the equipment you have, you just unlock it or even start with it. Might as well play Battlefield or CoD because that's basically how stuff works. Just unlock the best equipment and be done with it. No need to grind yourself up through the muck. No need to farm mech parts or be lucky to find a seller. That's actually rather sad. And removes the need to play that game twice, once you know the story.
its a bit sad really. while the game has great potential, as is typical they released an unoptimized buggy mess, that just does not run properly. The AI is sadly just as bad as mw5 mercs.
You must play an other game then, or there is a big bug. My AI is much much better. If they have long range weapons they will use it and keep distance. Brawlers will brawl, AC2 equipment Mechs fight turrets and flyers, lust goes on. Do you have optimized the weapon groups so the AI will understand their task? To you use the battle overview to give commands and position the Star accordingly to their job?
It's a pity that I absolutely loathe all the guys in the mechs you command, Jayden and Liam especially. They are so very obnoxious that it's spoiling all the stompy mech fun in this playthrough. Ditto for the senior officers. Sadly, I'm out.
It's weird and uneven. Sometimes the voice acting emphasizes things in an emotionally off way. Other times, it lacks the conversational flow of good banter, and other times the voice affect is so flat that I wonder if they used generative AI to create those lines.
it is but its also boring after a while... once you have the nova its the same build essentially... just slap as many er smalls on as you can and melt everything... who needs heavy or assault mechs...
@@tachilowitsch Direwolf with 14 Med Pulse is the meta in game currently. One shot everything, but an assault mech and only about 32 heat with an alpha. Plus with high cooling so you can just wipe the map without hardly stopping. If you are standing in water, you can just keep shooting non-stop without overheating.
Hear me out... But not everything is about what's the "best". Especially in singleplayer games. Just play what's fun. I swear, eSports and streamers have ruined gaming for everyone in the long run lol

The AI is significantly better than Mercs.
It's a pity that I absolutely loathe all the guys in the mechs you command, Jayden and Liam especially. They are so very obnoxious that it's spoiling all the stompy mech fun in this playthrough. Ditto for the senior officers. Sadly, I'm out.
The voice acting suckssssss.
and the ai.
and the optimization (or lack thereof)
It's weird and uneven. Sometimes the voice acting emphasizes things in an emotionally off way. Other times, it lacks the conversational flow of good banter, and other times the voice affect is so flat that I wonder if they used generative AI to create those lines.
Sadly missiles suck in this game
wtf with your lasers and firing so wierdly? You not running 8 er small lasers on the viper? It's clearly the best build for it.
it is but its also boring after a while... once you have the nova its the same build essentially... just slap as many er smalls on as you can and melt everything...
who needs heavy or assault mechs...
@@WhiteDynamite69 bro saying there is a "meta" in a single player game is so wild. lol
Hear me out... But not everything is about what's the "best". Especially in singleplayer games. Just play what's fun. I swear, eSports and streamers have ruined gaming for everyone in the long run lol
@@manaintolerantmageOf course there is a meta in single player games. Why wouldn’t there be?
