Those speakers are the business, I’d nearly leave the soft screen of the speakers to see the inner workings of it…great video Simon 👏👏
Do us a favour Simon - don't bother applying for any planning permission or building regs that you might need, you’ll get some good content out of dealing with the ramifications once you get dobbed-in by your neighbour.
Cheers Billy
You don't need planning permission to refurb your kitchen 🤣
@@alexy8520you may do if you're putting in a door or window, especially if it overlooks an adjoining property.
@@billywong78 nah not if its not in a conservation area. Its permitted development! Im a planning consultant by the way!
@@alexy8520 Fair enough. Our local planning authority just told a neighbour of mine they needed to apply for retrospective planning permission for a new window they’d put in on a previously blank wall because someone had complained about it. Defo not in a conservation area as well.
you should turn your kitchen into like a, half kitchen, half fine-dining restaurant so people can check out your cold chip sandwiches!
but in all seriousness, looking good mate keep us updated!
We used that kitchen cupboard door paint. Roller not sprayed (spraying was a disaster operator error.) It does a good job and lasts. If you do chip it touch it up.
I just bought this brand to do my kitchen cupboards. I am waiting on it arriving as the colour I want, Soho, isn't in the shops. but I was just wondering how long you waited between coats? I used to paint my kitchens with Frenchic where you just waited about 2 hours, but they don't have the colour I want this time, so am new to Rustoleum. Thanks if you can help x
Looking good Simon i had visions of you shaking the paint can and the lid coming off lol great colour looking forward to seeing the end results.
Different rollers give different surface finishes. Use a thin roller or those foam rollers for a smoother finish.
Great real life video Simon - Love how you get your hand covered in paint within seconds of opening the tin!
If you do fit windows or doors, you might need a FENSA certificate when it comes to selling your house. I have just had some fitted and got a certificate. Look into it mate.
Should have primed the doors with an MDF primer, mentioned this last time and you didn't listen 😂 you'll probably get some bleeds, looks like a lovely colour though! And the units look great behind you
When has the guy ever once listened to someone else
Admire your enthusiasm for the job at hand, painting anything is one of those things I hate doing.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who gets paint all over hands literally seconds after opening the tin.
Good idea to make use of those speakers, might sound better if they were upside down, as the tweeters would be more in line with your ears, but doubt you'd be too fussed?
I had visions of Mel coming in and popping her handbag down on one of those drying out doors, thinking you had made a new coffee table 😂
Do you think Acoustic wall panels would be worth fitting in the conservatory? It might keep the neighbours happy. I have them, and they do help.
Great insight on refurbishment. I like the black inside idea and the speakers on the end. Great to get a delivery of beer at the same time. Just went out and found I had a letter, so timing perfect🍻🍻🍻
Cant beat vintage audio . Bet that sounds great . A fun watch . Look forward to seeing the end product 👍🏻😊.
Speno
just watching this on a Tuesday evening and hearing Si's voice instantly made me want to crack open a beer....not good :)
You're doing well Si that's a lot of work on your hands, end goal will be fantastic.
I needed this project mate, just to keep my hand in, if that makes sense :-)
@@realaleguide I understand mate. That wall needs sorting once and for all. Be great to put in a window or french doors it'll change the outlook from negative to positive. ☀️
I can watch these home DIYS all day!
A super rare behind-the-scenes glimpse of the gaff!
I'd hate to buy that house after you Si! lol! How's it going lad
Well done Simon starting to look good
A little paint makes old stuff look new.
Getting there mate
Great job Simon it is starting to look good 👍
You could paint the door outside and bring it in to dry up. Why you turned your livingroom into a workshop? That place will be a big mess. 😂
Nice wall units Si
Drop sheets are cheap! lol 😉
If the cupboards are in the bar is the kitchen being replaced
I will have to video call you mate show you progress :-)
If you need a local Barry company to supply and install a window or French doors, please give me a shout
Whats your favorite beer tap you have?
Excellent idea me duck, I'm on board!
Vinyl covered mdf
I might need to re-examine life, just watched a man paint a door
Interesting my friend.
you are a top fella
That is masking tape NOT duct tape and the mould will come back through if not treated correctly. That £1 can is a botch job. Then painting it black will just make it harder to see when it does. Mould spores will still be in the air, potentially causing health issues for your loved ones. Nice one Simon good job 🤦♂️
It’s oil based black paint! If that doesn’t kill off the mould nothing will!!
@@realaleguide Buy cheap buy twice. If this channel is still around in 8/9 months, there will be another video of you having to do the job correctly a 2nd time.
@Hd7868 Correct, that wasn't hard, however it was wildly misguided.
Channel has been around for 14 years so I reckon he will be in 9 months.
@@paul_raftery Who knows Paul, poor Simon's views are rapildly dropping off of late.
Y are you close open your hands, new manicure
