Why Grammy's 2021 Flopped

- even though, i wasn’t severely disappointed by the winners this year. the controversy leading up to it, will always make it a questionable show. plus, the name has become synonymous with my annual grammy video, so it stays regardless.
anyways, if you’re reading this description comment your favorite album / song of 2020 and give this video a thumbs up!

I think this year they definitely tried to spread out the winners of the “big four” after the huge Billie sweep last year. That’s why pop vocal album and album of the year were divided between Dua and Taylor
@FactoryOfSuffering1977 best pop vocal album doesn’t mean best vocal performance in the album, it really just means best pop album, but they added the vocal part to differentiate it from just instrumental albums or spoken word albums etc. so the category really just means best pop albums that has vocals in it.
@Magret that makes no sense
I also think that Future Nostalgia is just a better pop album but in terms of just music folklore is better
@Magret Stop liking your own comments dumbo
I think Dua has a chance but over Taylor not because Taylor got snubbed several times and this time she made critically acclaimed album and album broke record on hot 200 and Grammy couldnt ignored that.If The weeknd wasnt snubbed,Taylor gonna get it anyway i think. And I hope when adele release a album i hope they consider other noms over her because she got the award over Lemonade
Eminem was right; the academy only awards the artists they like the most, “their darlings”. If you don’t give gifts and rub elbows then you don’t get a Grammy.
that's real life. i didnt get promoted even though i gave gifts. cause EVRYONE gave gifts as weel so...
I mean, that's how all of these awards show work and it's not like it's a secret or anything. They have entire committees for a reason. If they wanted an audience opinion, then they would seek it, but it's always been about what the rich and notorious deem "good" in their eyes.
And they love BEYONCE....
are these artists even "winning" the grammy or are they buying it?
@@traumfaengerinify I mean they’re practically buying them, they have to kiss the academy’s ass with gifts and shit to be considered to win an award.
I’m actually a little upset that Doja Cat didn’t win anything, she had a really great year, especially towards the end

Grammys has kinda lost it's authenticity, credibility and validity and people care less and less about it each year.
Not really. All that will happen is that "fans" will stop watching it. Then the show just won't be televised...just like when it first started. The award itself will still exist regardless because it is an industry award...it is for music industry people to give an award to their musical peers. So...that means the authenticity, credibility, and validity within the industry will remain. Fans don't determine that.
@@lisacox3750 You missed the point. Even without a televised award show and no fans, the Grammys has lost its authenticity, credibility, and validity especially in the popular music category. The awards cater to progressive politics and woke culture who are really just fronts for unwoke corporations and China.
But did I ever truly have any of that? That's the question.
@@lisacox3750 i feel like it’s losing credibility because everyone is beginning to realize it’s fake. it’s all about bribing,,
@@lisacox3750 Give it out all you want, nobody respects it anymore and if you’ve gotten a grammy recents you don’t deserve the respect. You cant snub & be shady with nominations/wins for years then claim the rest of the winners deserved it. To me, any artists who show up or win are just desperate & should stand up instead of kissing ass because they think getting the award will earn them respect. You can’t even fix it because you’ve purposely tried to diminish successful artists for years & continually let internal connections buy success. Change doesn’t fix history.
I would love to have the Grammys ACTUALLY give the awards to deserving and hardworking artists. Not just based on who’s popular. This is just a popularity contest at this point.
I don't think it's a popularity contest because sometimes people who aren't that popular do win. And just because you are popular doesn't mean you are not hardworking and deserving too. Everyone has their opinion on whose music is the best, that's why award shows kind of divide everyone.
If it was populaity contest BTS wouldn't have been snubbed for the past three years
Well taylor swift was VERY deserving pf her al um of the year win. She made two beautifully creative and stunning albums during covid and she is an astounding artist.

I’m kind of shocked you didn’t mention anything about BTS. Did you forget that their song “Dynamite” was nominated for best group performance and soared on the charts for eons, breaking world records that artists worked years to achieve in just a matter of weeks, but didn’t win anything, didn’t get their nomination broadcasted on TV, didn’t even get to attend the physical ceremony, and that the Grammys kept stringing their fanbase along by bombarding us with “just one more commercial” before their grand performance? It’s fine if you don’t like them, but you skipped one of the most significant reasons why the Grammys flopped and how dubious they are to non-Western artists and whoever doesn’t fit their agenda. I don’t know...it’s weird.
***About the Grammys being racist: the Grammys have multiple examples of displacing BIPOC artists--especially Black artists--in difficult positions where they're segregated into one category, stereotyping them and their culture, neglected by the Grammys entirely (i.e. BLACKPINK, Zayn, and The Weeknd), or egged on until the live ceremony, only to leave empty handed (i.e. SZA, Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, and BTS). The thing with creating an "international pop" category is that you'd have to place artists like Harry Styles, Adele, and Dua Lipa there too since they're from England and clearly the Grammys had no problem assimilating people like them into American pop categories. Making a K-Pop category would be so blatantly racist towards Asians. What happens when a Chinese pop artist becomes popular? A Vietnamese artist? Japanese? Do they get lumped into the K-Pop category too? I think the Grammys are doing what they do best RN--ignoring the noise until it's too loud to not acknowledge since doing so would make them look bigoted, so their performance activism comes with giving a group like BTS just enough publicity to catch their fandom's attention, but not too much where they'd overshadow the American artists. They still look bigoted, but they can always say, "Well at least they were NOMINATED!"

I mean let's take Diana Ross as an example. Thro her career she never won a grammy , yet out of guilt she was presented with the LifeTime achievement award or smth like this. Things can definitely change, and BTS not winning a Grammy now doesn't end their career or life..
the only reason the grammys had the views it had was because of bts stans and fans all over the world watching just to get snubbed.. they knew what they were doing
You know other artist are there I mean armies dominated but y’all acting like other artist don’t have stans to there’s a reason it didn’t get to 0 and people have been watching the Grammys even before bts if does get lower but you just can’t help yourself to not watch it and y’all could have just not watched it I mean you could have waited it would have been on social media lastly the Grammys literally use every artist in their prime for views bts isn’t the first and they won’t be the last literally all award shows do that the only difference is bts win those award shows and they didn’t this time which is fine they have time to win a Grammy in their career
@@blackwidow2876 But Grammies themselves used them so hard, repeating “bts is next” again and again, so in your opinion why did they do that?
@@aimiayko5111 no I agree they used them for views but I’m I shocked no they do that to all the big celebrities especially when they are in their prime this year it was bts 10 years ago it was someone else like all award shows use them for views the difference is they win the awards so y’all don’t complain like it’s nothing new and I will be honest armies dominated the views but even without bts they would have gotten views no matter what it’s still the biggest night in music history and it’s been that way for so long that’s my point
Skylar Anderson then explain why the viewed went down from 1.2 million to 400k after they announced that lady Gaga and Arian won???
@@marwahalmarshoodi1195 I’m aware they were used for views but ok they do that to every artist not just bts that’s why I’m not surprised about that it was done with Michael Jackson Beyoncé Whitney Houston mariah Carey Ariana grande like they use every big artist for views why y’all acting like it’s a new thing
