I live there - you showed it off very well. I was thinking it must be a Sunday as it was so quiet! When I first moved here you could visit the Counting House - it's a shame they couldn't keep it going.
I moved here from Manchester in 2013. Started a family and never looked back. I'm extremely grateful to be living here. The whole town is very welcoming. Also my friend owns universal geek comic's. It's actually the smallest comic's book store in the UK in the Gunness book of records
Yorkshire Curd tart is left over cheese curd (from cheese making process) with currants added in a sweet pastry and baked, sort of like a variation on a cheesecake. I use to work in Malton and live there as well as neighbouring Norton many years ago, I have very fond memories of being there, I feel just lately all your videos Ive a tale to tell haha even though I havent worked or lived here for approx 18 years or so its nice to see some businesses still going strong and some new ones.
Yes, Mr Walk, a very nice town with plenty of independent shops and history (loved the Dickens exerpt 👍) so thanks once again for the trip - keep em coming 😁👍✔💯💥🤩
Wish I could like (❤️) one of your videos each time I watch it . I’ve been wobbling for the last year on whether to do a day trip to Malton. Seeing this video we will in September while we are in York.
My home town, I was brought up there and still have family there. Was going to say you’d missed the Talbot food court but see someone else has pointed that out. The Purple Carrot sells really scrumptious vegetarian and vegan food. The monthly food markets are great, but the food festivals are even better.
I lived in Pickering for nearly 40 years so l knew Malton well. I just wish l was back in North Yorkshire. The best place on Earth in my opinion. Thank you so much .
Just about to set off into Malton right now. Where staying just about three miles away in lodge park. The Malton grange, it’s very nice. Smashing video tour thanks …..Jon T. Sheffield.
Wow, I loved the Yorkshire Pudding Recipe painted on the side of that building. If it wasn't for people such as yourself we would be unaware of so many beautiful places in England and I'm sure that we are so proud of such a long history !
It's been a while since I was there u shown some streets there I have not seen must visit again soon and by the way I have raspberry vinegar with my Yorkshire pudding
I worked in Holmfirth for 30 years, Longley Farm was only a short drive away so used to go in my lunchtime to collect a large bag of Yorkshire Curd which my wife made into curd tarts, I also collected two dozen mixed fruit yoghurts which were cheaper than shop prices. I retired 13 years ago and don’t get back there much these days but have made the odd trip now and then. If you see curd tarts on another walk you must try one they are beautiful, but they must be Yorkshire Curd tarts.
I live here, it's an odd place it has a charm to it, I've moved away a few times but always find myself returning. Situated between York and Scarborough it's quiet but if you want noise you can go to it.
Another beautiful place with a nice bakery😊🧁 You certainly make the viewers want to visit all these places! Have you ever been to the Channel Islands? You would love it, I am sure.
Awe, missed the best bit out especially for us ice cream lovers. And those with more sophisticated tastes as Talbot Yard (opposite Talbot Hotel) is home to macaroon maestro Florian Perot and groovy moo ice-cream parlor.

All the places that you present are very beautiful, and encourage one to visit them, but I notice that the people are very serious, I do not see that anyone greets you or says good morning...
Bill Clapperton from Hovigham (also worth a visit). Living near to Malton for the past 20 odd years I'm always in the town. As you say what a lovely Market Town it is. A great little film but much better to see for real. A pity you missed out the beautiful very old "Old Lodge" Hotel which sits adjacent to the site of the old Roman Fort. Not too expensive to stay there either as is the Rose & Crown. DON'T JUST READ THESE COMMENTS COME AND SEE FOR YOURSELF.
I can think of at least 6 public houses closing down due to lack of customer's & very high rents from the Fitzwilliam estate, lots of small business's closures amount to many in Malton, you are painting Malton a rosy red, which it is not, come here on a hot summers day near to where your video started from, the stench of sewerage is overwhelming, I live in Norton, Malton's twin town, I very seldom visit on a hot day, if i must, i mask up.
@@GimbalWalkTV we went a medieval day just outside of Adelaide. People were grinding grain & a lady was cutting up white, orange & purple carrots 🥕. Until that moment I thought carrots were orange, however the white (not parsnips I checked) & purple carrots are very old varieties & taste like normal, just look strange.
Years ago all you could get were purple carrots till around the 17th century when I believe the Dutch developed the orange carrot which is not as healthy
Went last weekend….to call it the food capital of Yorkshire is laughable ! Where are the nice restaurants and artisan bakeries and delicatessens ? Sadly it’s all a bit run down and unattractive. Shame

Good for you Carol 😉 enjoy.
A lovely video. Malton is somewhere i need to visit when am on holiday in Scarborough.
I've driven through Malton many times on the way to Whitby and to the north Yorkshire moors railway
Yes me too but never actually stopped there - always just drove through it!
Malton is full of treasures. It’s a super little town. Loved the Scrooge addition👏💕
Thank you! Was really surprised to bump into that little house - wasn't even going to go up that little lane!
You notice everything and pause to get a good view 👌. The Yorkshire Pud recipe made me smile too😀.

Hi, Great video of a great town. With regards to the ''silly question'' yes purple carrots do exist, we grew them last year and they were very nice.
That's amazing! I never knew! Thank you so much for the info!
@@GimbalWalkTV In fact, I believe all carrots were once purple. The orangeness was a choice made by humans to grow them that way.
My husband lived near by and it really has changed for the better over the years, beautiful part of the world
Thanks for this series on north Yorshire towns , I love them 😊
Our pleasure! Will be doing lots more there soon too!
