Yeah, I agree. If we got better/more synergistic kits across the board during these past 2 years, we likely wouldn't even be having this conversation. It became pretty clear around the third or fourth season's underwhelming patches that Nintendo was comfortable with how the meta was shaping and didn't want to make too many changes, which I believe also implies that Nintendo had a general idea of what kind of philosophy they for the kit design going into this game. Sure, tetras can't have BOTH a strong sub and special; big swig is meant to be a paint bot first and foremost and the sub/special are an afterthought; slosher and octobrush get zipcaster because they can use the height to their advantage; h3d and zimi are reference kits with the s3 successors to their old sub and specials so it should still technically make them good, etc etc etc. But when so many of these design philosophies fall flat because of how weak the weapon feels to play at times, it shows that the balance is a fundamental issue with these weapons, and this COULD have been fixed with better balance patches. What we're left with is a game that has a lot of mediocre options that may very well be solved with third kits, but would've been just fine with better sub/special distribution.
i think one thing you forgot to mention is how not only do main weapons go together with its kit, but the sub and special weapons also have to work together. like earlier today i was looking for a burst/inkjet weapon to play on a specific map rotation and i couldnt because of the kits and i wont be able to ever if they choose not to add them (but i do think they will add them eventually) i would also like to give some comments since we are in the same medium and you can definitely use these to grow your channel: 1: i noticed you said you were experienced with the fast pacing, im pretty sure you sped up the audio, i dont think thats necessary and although im glad it was concise keeping it at a normal talking speed will help with pacing, how well you are understood, and watch time but DONT STOP EXPERIMENTING. im very glad you are doing that and it can really help expand your skills 2: when you are recording make sure nothing gets in it, it sorta ruins the flow. like trimming the audio so right when youre done talking its silence could be one thing you do 3: you could try putting music in the background, what i do is use splatoon music since it has everything but most creators would use music for a video like this thats all, overall this was a very enjoyable watching experience and i noticed your video views have gone UP every time you posted so i think you have potential! keep it up! ps sorry i yapped, hope you can find this helpful! pps i subbed ppps change your smoke alarm

@@K1ngCes4r Well it's a discussion, and this is what I disagree with. I'm not saying you're claiming to be the definitive source or anything like that. But I am saying that you're mistaken about what I mentioned. The content for grand fest and etc was most likely completed a long, long time ago.
i understand your point that there are a lot of similar weapons, and there totally are a lot of similar weapons (especially shooters LOL) that can give a player a good variety. though, i do feel like the question should not be the quantity OR quality of kits, but rather the playstyles offered from them. are the playstyles offered by short-range blasters different enough from each other? if you're comparing blaster, luna, and s-blast, why bother playing anything than the blue s-blast? basically all of those have playstyles that are focused around rushing in and getting kills. why not make a kit that uses s-blast's long-range firing mode? why not make a luna that's more geared around sharking? i think there's enough variety to where it doesn't really matter, but a lot of the 3rd kits in the previous games WERE unique and offered vastly different takes on the weapons (i mean some didn't, but those were usually lame anyway). i also think that players feel like them not adding 3rd kits is just more features that they're taking away. we never got league battles, we still dont have tableturf live matchmaking, etc. it just feels like most nintendo games end up taking more features than they add (although i do think splatoon 3 did a good job of keeping most features, unlike pokemon or animal crossing). and besides, 3rd kits would be so little effort on nintendo's part as opposed to making a stage or any gear. the models for the weapons already exist, they just repaint them. anyway, you definitely raised some points i didn't think about and i appreciate it! i don't think you were trying to say splatoon 3 SHOULDNT add 3rd kits, just trying to give some reasoning why. and i also hope this video ages horribly LOL fire video
@@K1ngCes4r Although, I do think I would mind no third kits as much if they distribution of sub and special weapons were better. Some sub weapons are only on 6 or 7 weapons while others are on 11. And then some special weapons are only on 5 weapons.
@@K1ngCes4r I would've liked to see more weapons like ink jet or crab tank especially since half of them are shooters, but for the special weapons we got 8 of are kinda bad or poorly designed. Wave breaker is a good concept executed poorly because it's not very good and they have only given it one buff. Ultra stamp is also a good design that is poorly executed, depending on the weapon, it either very easy to punish or very hard to punish and it is a noob killer. It only got one quality of life change in Splatoon 3. Killer Wail and Big Bubbler are very unhealthy for the game because big bubbler has the ability to stall tower and it is kinda annoying how you can make it practically impossible for some weapons to stop people from scoring points and killer wail has global range.
