I had one in Singapore, exactly the same colour. I rode it to Ipoh, and back. On those roads, and no suspension, my arse took weeks to recover! The engine mounting bracket broke, and I had to design and make a new one to be welded on. All the spokes stretched beyond their elastic limit, and became loose. So I had to rebuild the wheels. My opinion- it was a toy, not suitable for real cycling. On the plus side, I rode it through a flood up to the seat level. When I emerged, I took the plug out, pedaled t like hell to clear the water out, dried and replaced the plug. Pedaled like hell again, and off it went! £1000? Cuckoo! .
I could hear the song from easy rider in my head: "Getcha motor running, head out on the highway, lookin' for adventure...It was the bike which was the most derided by us.. But that one seems to go rather well!
My mates dad had one of these, same colour too, i got to ride when i was 12, such fond memories. Thx for uploading the video.
I bought one second hand in 1973. (PAU108G) for £35 including 3 months credit. Great memories!
