I owned an identical bike in 1970 in Australia. Maroon BB 33, I paid $185. 10 weeks wages. Disappointingly a Honda 175 could out do me from a standing start to max speed. Still a mighty machine, I did a lot of country miles as I worked a long way from home.

Question did Norton build an 850cc Norton atlas, I only ask because I had a poster as a child displaying a Norton 850 atlas

Back in the 60s my mate had the ES2 500 and I had the 19s 600. We put sidecars on them so that we could ride them on provisional licences and carry passengers with 'L' plates up!...Happy Days!😀

I had a Viper the same as this one except it was all black. Lovely bike but I had a lot of problems with the dynamo overheating and melting the solder on the commutator due to it being enclosed in the cover without much ventilation.

One day could you take some video from the end of the road, I've often wondered what's there, High geared probably because you have to pedal to give the added torque.
