- This is one of the oddest guns I've ever messed with. And it's obvious to me why it's no longer in production. But it was fun to play with.

“Mom, can we get a bullpup?”
“We have a bullpup at home.”
Bullpup at home:
Life-sized Potato would buy one.
It was stolen from a /k/ommando
Or Graham Bates.
IF HE EVER CAME BACK
Hey Taofledermaus, see what shell could pierce this gun😂
I wish he still made videos
"Hey, let's design a survival gun for the air force!"
"Cool! What did you have in mind?"
"Let's make a bullpup not-a-rifle in 5.56 NATO that takes AR mags, has no sights, has as many ways to hold it as a Nintendo 64 controller and the firing grip flops around the barrel!"
"Wait, what?"
😂😂👍🏻
The Nintendo 64 controller comparison is perfect.
According to the NFAC leader that’s not a bullpup(: he called an AR a bullpup because it kicks😂🤣😂
Even more like "which has sights that you cannot even use"
This is the only Gun that I know of that has a grip that allows you to hold it gangster style
Looks like something I'd make in the garage after a 30 rack of Bud light
LOL!
Nice comment
Bud light or natural light lol
@@maclemaster2187 LMAO nice to know someone else knows that pain to
Or someone awake for 30 days on meth jesus its horrible
I remember when those came out, somewhere around 1970. They were advertised as a proposal for an Air Force survival weapon. As I recall, they were originally chambered for .221 Fireball. I guess someone realized that .223 was not much different and already in the military supply chain.
221 is a pistol round. 223 is a rifle round. The muzzle blast and flash from the one I shot was excessive. It's also intended to be supported with the weak hand holding down on the forearm.
Never heard if a .221 fireball in my life but it sounds badass
This guy is matt from demolition ranch's long lost brother with a caffeine addiction and i love it
Agreed
Added bonus: he didn’t give us a 10 minute skit before starting the video
@@austintillman8297 I really hate those now, become cringe af
The gun was designed by someone in a different branch of the armed forces as a joke.
Made by "special" forces
@@Darkstar22177 The "space force" came up with this weird contraption.
When a Thompson a d a Highpoint have an illegitimate child.😎
i think the father was a sten, not a thompson, judging by the way its held
Yup, a Thompson got drunk and had a three way with a L85 and a Mac10. So here is the result...
Oh God I laughed way too hard at this comment
One of my gun manuals from back in the early 80's gives a full detailed guide for field stripping, cleaning, and reassembling these things. Always thought it was an interesting concept, but could never see it being practical... apparently nobody else did either.
Technically, a pistol is already a bullpup.
And somehow, they managed to bullpup it.
Tim the Gunman Taylor was on the design committee.
This is a different design of pistol that looks rifle ish
If you really really don’t like it....... I’ll take it!
Honestly, put a pistol brace and some kind of locking/unlocking mechanism, and a pic rail and you would have an even cooler toy and a halfway usable weapon.
ATF: *confused screaming*
Reminds me of the M231 port guns we never used when I served.
Iran shall make a review on this one too
Who's alcohol fueled mess of an idea was this? When you sober up, the hope is you realize your mistakes.
Gun designer:
Claptrap: I uh... see what you tried to do there.
That actually looks like an awesome idea if developed properly. All the advantages of a long barrel pistol/short-barreled rifle with minimum overall length.
As Ian McCollum would say: "The good idea fairy strikes again."
Looks like something i drew when i was 6 and someone stole the design and made a gun
😂
This is the nicest and most beautiful gun i've ever seen
Manufacturer: ok so what's the design for our next gun?
Engineer: yes
It should have clicking selections for angle of grip.
If I owned this Id put it off hand (gangster style) and get a 45 degree mount welded on for a red dot on the opposing side of the grip.
It’s a Bushmaster Pistol, used by Army helicopter crews during Vietnam. I had one, small and compact, 20 round mags, it would still jam.
“Is it on my bucket list?.....NO”🤣🤣🤣
looks like something a kid would draw when you asked him what a gun looked like
If I had to run that, I would clamp a green laser to the barrel and use that to aim, and shoulder it.
there ya go!
Dustin Ellermann Ok I am absolutely getting one a d will report back to you what sounds like with my Hybrid 46 threaded onto it. Might even add a small Aimpoint and shoulder it.
Be careful about the ejection!
@@cymond If you are running a laser you don't have to cheek it, just shoulder it. Same deal as when shooting with night vision.
Mind blown
Cool, I had seen the original version of these in a book years ago. I always thought they were neat since they were intended as Air Force survival weapons; didn't realize they swiveled like that though. Still, I could overlook the swiveling, but can't say I would want one if the original was full-auto capable, but we can't have such a thing without all the ridiculous BS the government forces on us. Also, that is one well-trained horse you have; that is an achievement you can be extremely proud of!
I kinda like it. It needs some more work to be a final product but with some mods I'd buy one.
Manufacturer: It's ambidextrous
Israel: Ambidextrous you say~?
There was also a pistol that was bullpup-ish but bolt action....I think it was a Reminton XP something something? This “Air Force survival rifle” and the bolt gun/pistol would make a great start for a “forgotten weapons” collection starter set....
Can't have a forward grip on a pistol? No problem! Just use the mag as a REARward grip!
Thanks for the 4 minutes of smiling and laughing!
Oddly enough I had one back in the day, for exactly one trip to the range. Worked ok with GI 20's but otherwise fubar.
It's on my bucket list. Amazingly, I want one, and have since I first saw one in the 1970's. It is odd enough to have caught my attention, and a range toy that everyone will want to hold and shoot at least once.
True.
will it take stripper clips LMAO
They did it boys, they bullpuped a pistol
when the outro is just as long as the actual video ...
but you still watch it cause of the absolute badassery and humor :D
It's like Demo Ranch meets the Dudesons....and I love it lol
That horse at 4:00 is the definition of "bombproof."
Lol, I love your energy, bro.
When an enemy spy manages to get a design submitted.
0:01 : conventional and uncomfortable

Remember when Bushmaster was a great little company out of Maine who made high quality stuff for a good price? I miss those days.
Pepperidge Farms remembers
@@hz3917 beat me to it
Still here in Maine with same original owner but called windham weaponry
Like back in the same time frame this was made?
@@jonathanlunger2775 absolutely, same owner/designer/engineering team, once his non compete was done he started back up making better. He called all his former employees and offered them jobs again and they are pumping out solid stuff
my therapist: the sten pistol isn't real it can't hurt you
the sten pistol: 0:19
I remember seeing this in a gun shop in the 80's
Remember being a kid and drawing something but the proportions were wrong and you would put things in the wrong spot? That's this gun.
Nice to see a commercial on your channel ❤
how rare right? lol
My father had one of these for a short time. It was fun to shoot when it worked. I guess this was some type of airborne issued firearm back in the day but wasn't used very much.
Looks like the AUG and a tranquilizer gun had a baby.
I have an original Bushmaster Pistol, and it is a hassle to shoot. But it seems to be built better than this modern reproduction. And this reprodution doesn't follow the layout of the original (for example the charging handle is on the side which allows for a sight picture.)
I remember seeing these at So FL gunshows in the early 90s...along with (Australian ???) Leader rifles that resembled them...
Thats neat. I get the impression it was more of an unfinished prototype. Maybe they expected an airforce order, and built up stock... only to have it fall through. Curious that Bushmaster made a different bullpup a few years later, the M17s, which seemed pretty popular.
Put that jam on some toast, then you might have something.
Forgot to add, stove pipe empty happens with some ammo. My sites worked if you turn to right side. Stick mag out left side, lay gun on top of arm.
Totally defeats the positiveside of a bullpup.
10/10 on the turkey chasing you
🦃🦖🦃🦖🦃🦖🤣🤣
I owned a older version of this gun, it had different safety, and had sling on it. Had a adjustable site you could put on. Tuck and fire from hip, fun to fire not real useful.
I finally understand what an AR pistol is.
Capitalism: where the market regulates itself
Thank God I'm not the only guy with weird ideas. Always wanted a forward hand-grip that that could "rotate" at the press of release button from the lower under the barrel position to the side (either left or right) then lock in place until the release button is pressed down again. Crazy right?
The gun company😀😀
The gun:🤣🤣🤦♂️🤦♂️🤪🤪
The Wild Wacky Action Bike in gun form.
When I was a kid in SW Florida there was a local gun store that had one for sale. This was about 1976. I always looked at when I went to the store bought being a teenager, I didn't have money for it nor would my parents but it for me. It was a neat looking piece though.
Media: Bullpup Bolt Action Assault Weapon
reminds me of those screw drivers with interchangeble heads when you pulled and twisted it a certain way.
Like the bullpup style only
2:29 the tree !!! what a gun!!!!
Braced gun before braced pistols.
Was my fave gun as a kid till I had one then it just was odd, but still cool.
....it's fixable BUBBAAA GET ME MY DREMEL
This dude seems like the kinda guy I would wanna hang out with
I love how poorly nearly every aspect of this gun has been executed.
my man shooting a Borderlands Scav weapon lmao
i fired this thing before, yes it isn't that good of a trigger, but i like it overall because it looks cool to me
Oh no! What have they done!!
This is a type of gun a kid would make for his lego characters
Never, have I ever wanted a gun more in my life
This makes the Pancor Jackhammer look realistic.
Looks like the guns i draw when i’m bored
Find a way to tighten that play up and put a pistol brace onit.
IIRC that was the original intention...30 years ago...before braces...
looks like something out of Star Wars
AJ Katagi More like a Star Wars prop department reject, not enough windshield wiper blades.
I mean make it solid and mount a pic rail with a vertical foregrip on it would make it pretty ok, then just the sight needs to be fixed
Subscribed. Your amazing 😂🙏
“Semi auto MTAR but make it tiny and wobble”
Actually wouldn't be too crazy if there was some form of locking system on the floppy part to keep it from flopping, and a better charging handle.
Very unique Pistol !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the reason for why it moves is for being able to miniver in small spaces for reloading?
It was a poor rendition of the IMP, a .221 Fireball USAF survival weapon prototype. Selective fire! A friend had one of these for about a year so I got to shoot it a few times. 1) The rear sight is meant to tilt to either side (This weapon is ambidexterous) so with the weapon tilted to rest on your forearm the sight will line up. 2) Ammo; The Imp was chambered for the .221 Rem. a pistol round. This, chambered in .223/5.56, a rifle round. Thus muzzle flash/blast was pronounced! 3) The dust cover worked loose on recoil though it never affected function. The pistol grip became quite hot rapid fire through a single mag. 4) It was actually quite reliable. It shot every type of 223/5.56 we tried using! 5) Ultimately it was a piece of junk! Impossible to aim properly!
Those "sights" though.....Why does that feel like something TS might force on you guys just to screw with you?
ha ha yeah, by the end of filming the B roll I was getting the hang of it!
K guys this bullpupping everything thing is getting out of hand.
My cousin bought one of the Bushmaster pistols in the early 1970s. He shot it using a shoulder strap adjusted so it came tight when his arm was extended with the magazine angled over his forearm which made a pretty stable hold for accurate fire. Also, the charging handle was on the side instead of the top so sights were visible. And I'm pretty trigger finicky and don't recall the trigger being so obnoxious. He could hang the Bushmaster over his shoulder with it dangling between his arm and body making it disappear beneath a light windbreaker. It was a lot of fun at the time but we've come a long way since then. Here is a look at what he had. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bushmaster_Arm_Pistol#/media/File:Gwinn_Arms_Bushmaster_pistol.jpg . Jess
WAIT A SECOND...... Im paused here at 42 seconds in on this random recommendation..... YOURE DUSTIN FROM TOP SHOT. HOLY FRICK

Very cool! Thanks!!!
That looks both awesome and cursed at the same time
A pistol made for gangsters.
This is the kind of bull crap I’d buy after a night of drinking.
It reminds me of a French prototype machine gun from before the second world war.
The "Dulacre" if I remember correctly.
I saw one of those at a gun show in Virginia a few years ago. I saw it and had to ask what it was. The dude told me all about it and I was still confused. Then he said it was designed for the air force and then everything made sense.
😂😂😂
I would weld two holographic sights
One on top one on the side
I love holographic sights
I genuinely want to see this advance in development would be a sweet truck gun that doesn’t sacrifice much balistics
Needs a laser
For sure!
I literally was thinking about designing something similar
With few modifications, this could be a great bullpup
