Scott had a .50 cal blow up in his face, survives, and decides to shoulder-fire something _four times_ as large. What a legend
He's clearly living on borrowed time.

That ain't gun anymore, that is cannon of abomination
Scott already established himself as the big bore man of Guntube, now he’s cemented it forever.
Only thing left is a super rare double barrel 2 bore
@emra7331 Punt gun
Man is turning into Elmer Fudd
BIG BORE BOY - YOU MEAN TO SAY - YOUR IDIOT
Not until he gets the .950 JDJ Fat Mac. Then it will be cemented.
7:30 Holy crap! Removing all the paint of the steel target in one shot is not something I expected to see. And the greatest testimony to the power of that thing
It wasn’t all of it it was most of it
Had no idea Scott had that accident, so glad he made a full recovery and a 400lb bench press.
Brothers a fricking stud.
A how-many-lbs bench press?..
405
According to Forgotten Weapons, these things were mainly meant for when you're hunting things like cape buffalo. They were called 'stopping rifles', because they were used when the animal was charging and you needed them to _stop_ .
Interesting. But if you hunt big game and don't have a portable cannon use the good old 2 barrel shotgun instead, two 12Ga slugs fired at the same time will flip a bear on its back like nobody's business.
And Forgotten Weapons did a video on a 2 bore rifle too, which makes the 50 BMG look very small in comparison.
@@Tacoman450 oh yeah, the thing with a BOLT THE SIZE OF A GROWN WOMAN'S WRIST!!!!
They hunt with this ?!?!? 😂😂😂 you cut fucking elephants in two with this ffs
@Syntex366 i want a sawn off version 😂😂😂
What should I blast with this thing ?!? I hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!
Woohoo, let's get that 500 bushwacker going
Have you seen the .950 JDJ?

Scott is nothing short of a legend. Amazing person who makes some of the best "guntuber" content out there. Congrats on the full recovery sir.

The 4 bore is impressive but I am even more impressed with that 400 pound bench after your accident. Congratulations. Really remarkable accomplishment.
2 years since your accident? Man it doesn’t seem like that long ago. I’m glad you made a full recovery!
When I saw that video I thought my stomach was going to go inside out but it didn’t but I made me more appreciative of the things he does for us so we don’t have it happen to us and also glad that he was able to make a full recovery from that freak accident
the way that first shot just nearly stripped the paint off of the target was astonishing
So this is a miniature naval gun….
That blew my mind.
also the cans of food demolishing the table when they explode
Really gives you an appreciation for the strength of hardened steel as well.
You really can't just lob beeg ball of lead and expect it to defeat it. You MUST use projectiles made with extremely advance metallurgy.
All because of something as low tech as heat treating.
You are a living legend, and I'm really glad you're living and not just a legend. Big props to you Scott, one of my favorite UA-camrs out there.
The run down and photos of your accident and recovery were ' interesting ' shall we say . Very glad you are still with us and even more ' large and in charge ' . Congrats on the 400 lb bench ( glad to not see a bench shirt , but a full range of motion ) . The 4 bore is nuts and it's very satisfying to see things get obliterated by it . Good health and aim straight . All the best from England .
I could imagine that round causing ballistic gel to blow apart with the sheer amount of force it causes. That'd make for a really cool slow mo as well.
That would be a cool piece of slow motion film if it did.
I recently watched Garand Thumb shoot a ballistic gel dummy with a literal tank. I imagine it would look something like that
Agreed 👍👍👍👍
The moment that round hit the target in slow mo, my jaw hit the floor. I have never seen a round absolutely demolish the paint off a target like that, and I didn't even catch the 2x4 breaking in half
I am also curious on what that looks like, and also to a zombie torso. Wonder how much force it produces and how far it chucks the ballistic gel backwards
7:23 when even Scott's hand comes off the action during the recoil, you know the recoil is insane
Scott your are one of the most pumped up positive people on the internet, keep it up.
His enthusiasm about Firearms it's very contagious makes you want to go out and buy a tank!! Lol..
I also watch this video with great appreciation for your work, for your style, for your humor. Not everyone is brave enough to shoot this crazy rifle at least once, because just one shot will leave a bruise on shoulder.
181 Kilogram bench-press? After all you have been through that is incredible. I am so happy for your recovery, the original story was so difficult to watch where you broke down what happened and you came back as strong as ever. More health, more years!
Yea that's bonkers for someone that had their ribcage split in half. The amount of pressure on your chest to press up 400 lbs is bad enough let alone after that kind of accident. It just shows how powerful the human bodies healing factor is.
Wait what? I've not seen it what happened?
@@AJs255 he shot a 50 cal SLAP round through his single shot 50 bmg and the pressure was too high in the chamber and the gun exploded and sheared a chunk of metal and sent it through his body. He had to stop his jugular from bleeding out while his father rushed him to the hospital. The video about it is really good I suggest you definitely check it out. Pretty scary and emotional. He's very very lucky to be alive
Thanks for that dude like what the hell even are pounds
@@roneilrd Lol. An easy way to think of how much a pound weighs is 4 sticks of butter, a loaf of sandwich bread or a can of soup. All these are rough 1 pound
It occurs to me that if you are in a situation where you need a 4 bore, you aren't going to care about or even notice the recoil.
I legitimately dont think there has been an animal ever in existence that would survive a center of mass shot
@@EvelynnTheBorderCollie i mean... maybe a blue whale? lol
@@jimjam742 doubtful but it did make me chuckle
Sounds like a gun for hunting cryptids
Mammoth hunting. 🦣
Glad to hear that your accident hasn’t stopped you, but has become a new inspiration for your UA-cam channel and when you blow up guns and I’m happy you are still with us Scott, love your videos 👍🏻
Just watched your other video with your .50 cal exploding and listening you describe what happened to you I'm surprised you didn't have further or more extensive injuries. That said, the injuries you suffered were fairly significant in my opinion, I'm no doctor, but glad to hear your back on the horse to so speak and that you've come back from that horrible event.
I would love to see what the 4Bore does to things like Bulletproof Glass, a Gun Safe, Locks/Chains, and oddly some kind of sword... do the whole split the bullet thing
IDC how sharp and thick the blade is, the sheer kinetic energy of the bullet would snap that thing in half on contact
@@aquamidget1131 Honestly think it'd just make the sword blow up, sending shrapnel everywhere. This gun just seems like a handheld deathwish.
Ohhh, just cast a tire stud in its tip... and send it to war.
Better use an axe.
Imagine a green tip on it
I still cannot believe it has been 2 years since the 50 cal incident. Congratulations on making it this far - and kudos for managing to bench press more than you did before the incident.
Oh word he was the guy who almost exploded his face aiming on that table!
Holy smokes! So glad to hear about you having such a full recovery!
The 4 BORE, for when you need to stop the intruder behind the fridge... at your neighbor's house.
25mm....there are smaller anti-aircraft rounds. I'm pretty much speechless....so glad you're fully recovered and doing well. You sir, have a Jedi-level shoulder.

Scott is the absolute definition of "armed and extremely dangerous." Major props for the 400 lbs bench!
Major props on that bench indeed
Agreed! Welcome back Scott!
How many zombified ballistic dummies is that?
wow, that's a HUGE amount of weight. good job.
Glad u recovered man! Great
Job with the bench that’s crazy impressive. Thank god, for you’re awesome recovery ! Amazing channel by the way my dude.
my man, your recovery story brought a tear to my eye.
I am indescribably elated to hear about how well you've recovered. a beautiful miracle for this world. i was even happier to hear that your vision recovered too! absolutely outstanding.
you're a beast my guy. couldn't be happier to still be hearing your voice and feeling your energy two years later.
I can't believe it's been two years. I remember how the UA-cam gun community came together to keep videos posted on your channel.
Just incredible
That was great to see.
A full recovery and coming back stronger than before couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. I'm genuinely happy for you, Scctt.
Great and fun video. Glad you have recovered fully. Thanks for the update on your health!!!!
I think I’m more impressed with your aiming accuracy Dead Eye than I am with the behemoth, which was very impressive.
Scott 100% came back stronger than ever after his accident. His ability to stay optimistic and push himself despite what he's been through is truly inspirational.
Truly, he has Restoration 100
You gotta be pretty resilient to come back from that
I feel like that's common among people who've almost (or in my case, did for a few minutes) died.
What a phenomenal video, dude! I can't even begin to imagine the kind of Technicolor bruise that biga$$ gun left you with. Tremendously entertaining, mate!
That's more than a rifle, that's a damned cannon! Incredible
It is basically a 25mm cannon if the barrel could handle it you could have larger rounds that could in theory be everything from APHE, HEPD, or even something like a Proximity Fuse HE round
The cartridge looks like a 20mm round!
uh.. blunderbuss, withs its 3" barrel was technically a handheld cannon :-) and best is ammo saelection of all time, "what ammo this take?" ... "oh uh anything you can shove down the barrel" lol
@@ilo3456 ok warthunder player
Yeah it actually IS a cannon technically speaking
Probably the most legendary video you have ever made, Scott. I have seen a lot of legendary videos by you but this one takes the cake
It looked like the bullet did deviate with the cinder blocks, but the momentum from the ones it hit was still enough to shatter at least one more block. Same sorta deal with the 3 cans, I think.
Scott’s thirst for recoil will never be quenched.
Maybe he'll hip fire a mortar.
@@jacobstaten2366 😅
IDK
I just want to see a two trigger pull of the 700 nitro.. spam the request on his videos until he does because I know you want it too!!
I once picked up a 4 bore bullet and couldn't imagine what such a lump of lead was doing there (I live in a very remote part of Africa). When I showed it to a knowledgeable person he immediately recognized it as a bullet. You could see the marks on the lead where it impacted, probably having been fired at an elephant or rhino by a big game hunter from many years ago.
Great video keep it up I definitely will be recommending your channel
You have so perfectly in startlingly few words completely settled the matter in any and every case. One of if not the most eloquent rebuttal to anti-2A I have ever heard. Wish you the best brother! Peace.
That is a genuinely terrifying round. I’m glad Scott is back to 150%. Long live Kentucky Ballistics 👍
As a Canadian off grid adventurer, I think bigfoot might lose sleep over that round lol
But I’m glad he’s back as well 😎
I remember firing a sawed off 10ga when I was a teenager and the pain it brought. I somehow felt it's ghost in my right arm watching Scott getting pounded by that 4 bore. What a Spartan!
Did you tap both triggers?
Watching scott get what?
@@JGT-yd2wx
Your mind
That is funny 😁
@@JGT-yd2wx ladies dw he is taken
I’m glad I found this video, it’s frikkin awesome, so I subbed!
Scott is an absolute LEGEND! Love this guy!
Damn that first shot was a pretty insane demonstration of the power of this thing. Recoil literally pulls your hand off the trigger guard, broke the 2x4 holding the target, and blasted just about all the paint off the steel. Way to make a come back Scott, absolutely nobody can doubt you recovered now.
I am most impressed at how Scott was able to actually put rounds on target accurately.
I just MIGHT be able to psyche myself up to shoot ONE shot. Pretty sure I couldn't shoot another after that. :)
@@Ginrummy33 I don't think I'd be able to shoot a .22 a week after one shooting that one time.
Not really impressed at the expansion of the 4 Bore. 😛
This would make a good home defense round for when you are attacked by a house.
Well, if you miss you gotta do another shot.😅
I really want to shoot that thing. I also want a 30-06 revolver but I'm kind of retarded like that.
Bro your Awesome and an amazing comeback good for you man glad your still here
I’d love to see this hit a car-sized block of ballistic gel 😂
Good idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The slow-mo impact on that steel plate looked beyond amazing!
That was indeed amazing. Gav would be proud!
It was literally just like the movies.
My guy survived a 50 cal accident and now he is back with this monstrosity. The balls on this man.
BONE SAWED HIS RIBCAGE???
thats why i like blades they don't blow up on you
They're brass. He's an Irish lad whose name is "Ballz O'Brass".
"Look at that hole! I gotta get bigger thumbs!"
I can see Scott deciding to remove the A-10 from a GAU-8 30mm cannon and attach himself instead.
Forgotten Weapons once featured a 2 Bore Rifle on his channel, man I would pay good money to see Scott shoot that.
I used to shoot the .45-70 Government for a season or two years ago. With the 300 grain hollow point, deer hit the ground hard. The 4 Bore Rifle - WOW... an entire different ANIMAL! Thanks for the demonstration. 👍
7:27
Seeing the 2x4 break from that 4 bore round and being carried that far was the most satisfying thing I ever saw. 🤩
I like how it stripped the paint XD
That was amazing.
I'm abusing your replay button... 😁
Agreed!!
That recoil is insane. I want to see what a ballistic dummy would end up like if you hit center mass
Especially while wearing a level IV plate.
At those energies, the plate is what ends up penetrating your torso.
@@BogeyTheBear I think if you use 50mm absorber, rubber or something like that, you will probably survive..
I shoot a 10 Gauge Browning however I would put the buttstock of that rifle against a tree to shoot It! That bruised my shoulder just watching the video.
400 is a great goal. Congrats. Love that u havent given up.

This rifle is so absurd that Scott didn't even have to think of a bit for the intro. The gun itself makes people laugh. 😂
As an Australian, I am continually astounded you keep bringing out bigger and bigger firearms. I am also continually astounded with your effortless looking handling of them.
Ganz genau.
Aussie here and he has a shoulder of steel!
It doesn't look THAT effortless this time, IMHO. Although he's big, heavy powerlifting guy and the rifle looks as if it was made for King Kong, he is pushed backwards upon each firing and almost toppling over, as far as I can tell, watching the video. 😂
@Sören Lilienthal He's pushed back a bit with the 4 bore rifle for sure, but he's handled all his other big rifles extremely well.
@@BettyNuggs I don't doubt that he's an experienced gunhandler with the heaviest calibers. I would have trouble to lift some of the guns that he had fired and wouldn't dare to shoot most of them.
God bless man. A real trooper. Love your show.
The first video I ever saw on this channel was the .50 accident video... also when he is describing the gun >t just made me think of watching the HSN knives shows when I was a kid lol.
I'd suggest that you and the Garand Thumb crew should make a video what it would look like to shoot the 4 bore rifle through a gelatin torso. You know... for scientific research and an awesome collab. Also it's crazy how it's been 2 years now since your accident, amazing recovery!
I think he should give his dad more thumb recognition too as it was his dad who initially put his thumb in his neck.
Bro, the 4 bore will leave a giant cavity in the gelatin torso. Lol.
I like this idea, but I’m also curious what hitting the best body armour you can find on a gel torso would look like
Gelatin torso in body armor behind a ballistic shield. Still don't think it would survive 😅
I wanna know what it sounds like when it flies by
Need to use this with one of those realistic ballistic torsos. Would love to see it!
Oh yeah, for sure
glad that you recovered Scott so well after this very bad accident; - from lucky to be alive, you gain the full recovery and more: - reaching strength more than before the accident; now that is a full dedication to your goal mentally and physically proving that you it is sinergy of both - Kudos for that !! 💪✊👍
I'm glad to see you are doing alright! When i heard about your accident i remember thinking, will he be back? Keep up the awesome work, and greetings from the Netherlands!
Can we just appreciate how Scott almost died and has made like 5 different T-shirts and even a trophy about the incident, dude is a trooper
this man and his dad are absolute beasts, his dad is an amazing dad for telling his son a technique for health like that. And scott is cool for managing to survive a 50 cal accident (which i've had before, lemme tell you. It wasn't that bad but oh man it is not fun.)
What happened to you? Bad ammo?? Because I plan on buying .50 soon
I gave you a thumbs up just for the story! Awesome recovery!
Very smart there with the hammer at the end to keep everyone watching and listening to the outtro!
Honestly, I would love to see how much ballistics gel it takes to catch that bloody round, also congrats on the recovery man.
I'd love to see that XD
That was about 7 feet of water in the jugs, maybe a bit more. I think it would take at least that thickness of gel blocks to have a chance of stopping that damned thing.
@@michiganengineer8621 cool, I had no idea how big those jugs were just guessed, was thinking 1.5 to 2 meters so I'm pleased with my guess. Lol. Ok so he maybe needs 2.5 meters of gel to catch it? Hahaha that's crazy
@@joeledwards6587 The 5 gallon jugs are between 1.5 and 2 feet in diameter, that's what I was basing my numbers on anyway. I predict the first block at least is going to completely SHRED
For those that don’t know, it’s called a stopping rifle. It’s for when a rhino or bull elephant is charging you and you have one shot to not become a grease spot. From the black powder era when the only way to get more stopping power was bigger and bigger projectiles
Do you think the elephant or rhino kick as hard as this thing? 😆
Thank you, sir.
Excellent prairie dog round as well.
Stop being rifle is a very appropriate name for it I don't think Mutch is going to take a hit from it and keep coming. Appreciate the history behind the gun I didn't know anything about it this is the first I've ever heard of one. But stopping rifle is a very appropriate name.
you have alot of rhino and elephant in Kentucky
Very inspiring update.! Glad you’re here bud. Jobs not finished.
This was legendary. subbed.
As a weight training enthusiast, I appreciate your bench story.
I laughed like an idiot when that 2x4 broke in half and flew away 😂
I couldn't laugh my jaw just dropped! Especially when I saw how much paint the bullet removed

Oh dang. Out of nowhere UA-cam recommends this video. I'd all but forgotten about the .50 cal accident, but it's really nice to get such a positive update! Now on to the rest of the video... 😄
07:25 It is amazing how the board didn't even tilt or really move at all except just flying serenly backwards in an upright position. An absolute unit.
They cut the wood, that why it fly.
@@flpmd3419huh?
@@flpmd3419 Interesting comment. I replayed that part of the video in slow-motion and there was a horizontal line in the wood before the bullet hit, and that line is where the wood broke.
Presumably, that the wood was weaker at this line.
Open question how that line got there. Was it from prior repeater shots at the target the wood was holding up, or whether he or someone else deliberately weakened it for visual effect.
I’m going to go with it was due to an accumulation of repeated shots on the target, but that’s my positive outlook on humanity talking.
@@adamesd3699 it was a fresh steel plate but the wooden post is used. Presumably from some amount of rounds shot against it, it was weakened and formed a small split in the middle. It would've still held up against smaller calibers but the 4bore had so much energy transfer that the small split tore it apart.
@@Killbayne Even if the wood post wasn’t damaged, the 4 bore would have likely snapped the wood due to how much energy the thing has behind it.
If it can vaporize a ballistic gel head behind hard body armor (and turn soft body armor into something arguably worse than the bullet itself), then it can surely snap a pole in half.
I can only imagine what would happen if Scott ever got a hold of a 2-bore, like the one from that one Forgotten Weapons video.
at this rate hes going to be shoulder firing himars in no time

@@thomvaan2845 pretty easy actually cause I just said it. Can you say prayers worked? No.
What do you think would have happened if he had been alone when the accident happened? He would have bled out and died.
However he wasn’t alone. His dad was there with him, threw him in the car and drove like mad max to the hospital while keeping pressure on the wounds. Also called the hospital so they could get prepared for surgery the very min they arrived.
So I ask you again. Did prayers do that? No.
Quick action and response, plus amazing doctors at the hospital working around the clock to save him.
But hey if that is to complicated to grasp then go ahead and say prayers saved him.

Awesome video!!!!! You might not have been trying to do so but I’m sure anyone who has been seriously injured will now have so much more hope for recover
When I was about 9 or 10 years old (about 1966), my Dad wanted to show me the farm that he grew up on up in Gladwin Michigan. Grandpa lost the farm, like millions did during the great depression. on the way back through town, we stopped at the old time hardware store that he had frequented as a kid, I think now, it was a trip through memory lane for him. when we walked past the large display window, there was a GIANT DOUBLE BARREL GUN, SO BIG IT WAS SO ENORMOUS, even my Dad was amazed! When we went in, the elderly man behind the counter, remembered my dad right away. He introduced me to him, but truth be told, I could never remember his name, or his face after all of these years. Dad inquired about the gun, and honestly, all i remember was that it was a 4 bore black powder gun. I don't remember if it was a smooth bore, or a rifle. perhaps, one barrel of each? I never forgot that it took a full 1/4 pound of lead per shot. the owner did say how much the gun weighed, but again, to many years have passed. the size of that gun was so impactful, that I can still see it seared in my brain. I guess, that that gun, is what turned on "the gun nut" switch for me. Thanks for bringing up such a great memory for me, and a tear,or two missing dad.
It’s great to see Scott doing better. This man does so much for us and we thank you! I’d really love to see the 4 bore against a zombie torso!
I agree :D
Also screw this bot
Yeah sooo much..
That would be awesome
One torso straight on like normal and a fresh on laid on its back and filmed from above!
I was going to say same thing. But not the zombie one. Use the regular one. Not a fan of the zombie green.
This man is like a little kid having fun with his second chance at life….definitely an inspiration
God bless ya man. Good job on recovering from this horrible accident.
Edit: RIP targets. Man that is awesome.
You are a beast. Love the videos bro.
Bring back the Slo-Mo Guys and have them film this in super slo-mo. That target at 7:25 was blue one frame and speckled blue the next, not to mention how bloody far that flew. Absolutely insane!
Agreed! Watching the paint vaporized in slow-mo would be amazing!
You can also see that there were so many sparks coming off the impact, it looked like it exploded
Just film? How about shoot? Kentucky Roulette with 10 cans of Poop-on lined up! I know, i know it's not a revolver....so maybe have somebody else randomly load the live round or leave an empty chamber.

Why would you like see the effects on a "realistic dummy"? You need some serious help.
Yes, do the dummy!

And he has a new Turret!
You are definitely the top dog when it comes to finding and shooting these huge caliber guns. I never even knew these bad mofos ever existed until u posted them..
You are a brave man still doing what you are doing seeing what happened to you most people would walk away and never fire another gun again, I spent time in the CAF we had training on the sterling sub machine gun, it was used in WWII it was short range 200 yds. 9mm I was told they used to clear rooms filled with germans by breaking the firing pin caulking it and throwing it and it would fire until the clip was empty, can you replicate that? and maybe show some examples of it in live fire, I got to use it but only on a range.
