    I am very excited to see Aptera come to market. As a reservation holder and investor, owning the first solar powered car sold in the US will be an instant collector's item as well as a milestone in new automotive technology. The future for Apera seems very bright.

    Thank you for taking the time to make this video. The lower amount of resources needed to produce and drive this vehicle compared to most others is absolutely amazing. It will be making life better for everyone - not just those who own them for their own use.

    I am a physicist and the 40 miles per day on a sunny day included engineering margin so I think they will achieve it. You will be able to get about 140 miles overnight on your 120 V 15/20 amp circuit in the US.

    The price is still in flux and the price may still drop a bit rather than go up. I plan to get the 600 mile version and am an accelerator and will drive it across the country and assuming I find this video again, I will post a quick review.

      I cannot wait, thank you for that I'm looking at the 400 mile range for myself and one for my wife that should be ample for our needs. Thank you for your comment.

    I keep in mind that as volume goes up, prices come down. Right now,aboit 47,000 reservations are in. As they take a PI build around the countr, I expect reservations to increase even more and they wi explode when production starts.
    I have a Mitsubishi Mirage that gets 43-50 mpg. I still want the Aptera.

      nice, I'm in the same boat as you, my ford fusion 43 in the winter and about 47 in the warmer months, and still also want the Aptera, great comment thank you for sharing.

    Be aware that Aptera plans for four range option battery packs: 250, 400, 600, and 1000 miles. The Launch Edition will be produced first with the 400 mile range battery pack, followed by the 250 mile version, then the 600, and the 1000 mile version. As you know, the battery pack size is the largest determiner in the final vehicle price tag, so you can weigh that in your range choice. Also, the recent price "increase" is not company announced nor official.... it comes out of the US Capital Global investor presentation. While the costs shown there are real, Aptera has explained that they are derived from their suppliers early quotes which are always high and based on the smallest quantity. Aptera expects much more realistic supplier quotes as production nears and quantities/timelines solidify, so the cost is expected to have a significant drop from what is shown there. Battery costs are also trending down quite a bit lately, especially as chemistries improve and new ones head onto the market. The recent change in drive-train from three in-wheel motors with three inverters, to one motor and inverter, has also reduced cost. I hope you find this additional information helpful.

    From starting to guess at 45mpg in summer and saying it's 43 in winter is hardly "dropping off a cliff". The Saturn sounds nice, and you sound more Aussie than Brit, but you're not driving in either country.

    • @BeardyBrits
      @BeardyBrits  14 днів тому +2

      not an Aussie nor a Brit, however born in South Africa and live in the US. Yes the Saturn is cute and lovely. The Ford Fusion I promise you the difference between 45 and 43 you notice. Funny how I do not care when I drive the Saturn as I normally get around 28mpg. Thanks fr the comment.

    4 miles per day is more realistic than 40
    And the first few years the price has to be around 50k or else they will go bankrupt

      I'm looking forward to see how many miles we'll see via the solar panels. There was a video I watched that said something about 2025 and that I look forward to see. Thank you for your comment.
