STORY:
An 83 day, 1700 kilometre canoe expedition across the seldom explored Labrador wild. Presented as a docuseries. This is episode #6 of the ASMR short version. There are 6 total episodes.
At 1.4 million km², the Labrador Peninsula is one of the last great wilderness areas on the planet. In 2018 I set a goal to cross its width by canoe.
From the Labrador Sea to Hudson Bay it was an estimated 1700 kilometre journey that would last 83 days.
With only my dog Saku, I would travel, up and down remote rivers, across enormous lakes, and over portages that were littered with both beauty and danger.
We would witness and camp in wilderness that few, if any, have ever seen and rewind back to a time when life was simpler.
Along the way, I filmed our experiences. Now, in a docuseries format, we bring it to life for you, right here on UA-cam.

I've run out of superlatives! I'm amazed at the hardiness of canoe, dog and man. This adventure series is a viewing masterpiece. Thank you.
Fantastic!! Thank you very much!
Epic! Thanks Justin and Saku. You're an inspiration to us all.
To work that hard AND to video it for us to see? Man, thanks for doing this for us. I have seen both versions and you doing this means a lot to us watchers. Please believe me when we say we appreciate it. Cheers from Maine!
wow
always fun to look again ty .
I have almost finished reading Justin Barbour's book Man and Dog Through the Newfoundland Wilderness. I have enjoyed it so much that I am rationing myself to a couple of pages a day because I don't want the book to end. Great admiration for you and love your dog, Saku. This book was recommended by Shaun James of My Self Reliance in one of his videos.
Really appreciate it Linda!! Saku and I wish you happy trails in life. Take care and stay tuned for more books and films : )
I've watched this more then 4 times,I enjoy your journey, the work you put for the travel and great video. Way better then todays tv shows. Cheers
I would never get tired of your videos and excursions Justin....Saku is a monster ! Lol....😊😊
Saku is such my big darling! So nice to see you boys out there, taking on the world. Opens my heart. 😉🇨🇦🖤💛💚❤💞💖💕🐾
All the challenges you faced during this epic trip and always a smile. You definitely love life. Thanks for the mini series. Loved it.
👍👍👏. Thanks Justin and God bless ✌️
Worth watching again, even in the short version. Stay free, live free Justin and Saco. Peace.
Even Sak gets the thousand yard stare sometimes 👌
You worked some hard to get these footages. Also good job on the go lassie go on the tin whistle. Winter comes fast in Labrador but i am glad you made back home safely. Poor Saku afraid of the helicopter but i bet he was happy to get home to. I cant wait to see the inner Newfoundland videos you are soon doing! Cheers.
Wild life video's just don't get any better than this. Thanks for filming it so we all can see what's out there.
Fierce. One man one dog. It's this last leg of your journey that has seared itself into my brain. Gaunt and determined both. Jack London would have loved this tale of adventure.
better than "National Geographic",Justin and Sacu!!!👍💪(🐕❤)
Incredible footage! Tough sloggin’ - Tougher guy!

Ok, so i REALLY LIKE when u use ur words 2guide us through ur daily journey. Without ur words, i lose interest, and i don't learn as much. I hope that u reconsider ur decision. Thanks 4all that u do.
At the beginning, I was like " Man.. you got big dog. You've got a bear for a dog." Lol
Oh... wait he's just filming a bear.
Thank you Justin.
Well done as usual, and cheers from Maine!

Love your Siberian log fire Justin. It Cuts back on having to attend it so often is the very thing especially when you're dog tired right Saky little buddy?😁💞
tough as a rock.lol . get the pun
Little chilly eh? When I was a Boy Scout, I was told the dry twigs at the bottoms of Evergreens were called Squaw Wood. I asked why and was told because that was the wood the women gathered. TRUTH BE TOLD, THE WOMEN GATHERED MOST OF THE WOOD, DID THE COOKING AND CLEANING, FILLETING AND BUTCHERING, CHiLD REARING AND most everything else. Girl Power eh? The Pilot was trying hard not to use his sense of smell. Lol. Thank you very much for sharing this awesome adventure. If I had two nickels to rub together I'd send one to you. Maybe soon eh?
cool my sun ! :)
Every one is having a feast of berries lol
You are one tough adventurer, watched both versions, the many camera setups it must have taken in many situation for the filming. I am curious what precaution did you take if pulling the canoe up stream it got away from you, Good job and good luck on future adventures.
Thanks Fran. I held on tight. Most times I had the rope wrapped around my wrist than held it again in my hand. If I lost grip it was still tight on my wrist
Hey buddy? I seen in this video Zack was eating ( blueberries ) i looked up on the internet to see what i could feel and not to feed dog.... blueberries and raisins was right up there along with chocolate. You need to make a video of only Zack Like always great video....
👍
I've often wondered...what brand of briar pipe you smoke and favorite tobacco?
Medico husky pipes and some corn cob. Any baccy ill try it all
How does it end? Watching from Ontario Canada 🎉
never been to where this is....what is the white stuff growing all around? Lichen?
moss, growing up in labrador i remember there was actually a time when we were selling it for medical research.
What size is this canoe just out of curiosity as I live in a town and makes old Town canoes here in Maine

Ay, how are you? we call them birds you ate, Shags.... or Cormorants, "Sitting around like a Shag on a rock" what do you call them? also more important to me, what they eat like? we eat Blue Moore Hens... they are good mate, dunno about Shags but...
Has all that country in your videos been logged?
🇧🇷😍
I like When theres talking better
Watch the long version.. link below video.
@@Doreana48501 I did, twice. Thanks tho
Hey Justin. Hard core tripping. About those boots. They have been to hell and back and still look really good. I hope youre wearing gortex socks.
Btw what brand are the boots? I have used Prosector, Browning, Munari and Asolo and always keeping an eye open for references for quality expedition footware. Cheers Paul, in Qc.
PS. That smile when your eating soup, you make a great pirate. My cousins in Deer Lake and Pasadena claim we are all decendant of pirates.
Arrrrr4.
son :)

Hey bud. I watch your commercials. I hope it helps ?
Justin I've watched all your videos and followed your expeditions but this video is way to choppy to get into. Maybe it's just me but I like to watch the scene for at least 3 or more minutes and this video every scene is cut away to the after 10 seconds. Sorry I can't feel submersed into your experience when it's like this. Please go back to longer full length views.🙂
Watch the long version.. link below this video.
This was just an experiment with already used footage. Thanks for the feedback old style videos coming soon : )
@@JustinBarbournlexplorer Awesome! 😊
Sure video is good, but without You talking, it has lost big part of it.
