Hey man. Thanks for the lesson.. Really accurate.. Would love to see this same lesson on another Maroon 5 song called The Air That I breathe, have some trouble figuring out some chords there..
8varium5 Thank you! I will add that to the list and try to get to it. It's a little crazy right now with creating online guitar courses, etc., but I will try my best. Thank you!
Love your tutorial. I play the song a bit differently after watching a video of a professor from Five Towns explain the verse chords (ironic since Adam Levine attended Five Towns). I'm a huge Maroon 5 fan and after watching James Valentine perform in videos I notice some differences with the way he plays the song and the way you display the tutorial. Regardless still helpful!
Hey Jesse. Thanks for kind words! That's cool that a professor as well as James Valentine did videos on this song. I would go with James' version over mine, haha. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
+Piotr Borkowski Thank you. Yes, I agree, it's probably better to show chords with a clean tone. I was using the rhythm channel on my Mark IV, and didn't have my footswitch available. Thanks!
To be more effective to people who don't know the names of these chords your playing and have a hard time being able to match the finger position with the names of the chords I think as you play your video you should make a small diagram on the side of you playing in a second window to help these people like me to match the positioning. Therefore lessening the times I have to watch the video to try to figure out from a frontal view which can be practically Impossible sometimes. Anyways sorry for bi. Tching
Other than my nitpicky comment I have to say I appreciate the video I live for marron 5s music love to have someone that can teach me how to play what I live for and now I absolutely love that I know how to play it too at least a little bit. Thank you very much.
5:28 actually say the threats for this chord and the finger arrangement. You did it for the others so why not this chord!? I'm not sherlock bloody holmes i can't figure it out! You spent so much time explaining the theory and didn't actually say what threats was on what strings on the chord ffs!!! The one chord you didn't explain was the hardest to figure out!
Need to separate the theory from instructions and the camera angle on the fingers is not at the correct angle and not close enough. Could be a great lesson just loses a lot in the delivery.
+laura Pinto So sorry! It's so hard to know if I'm going too fast or too slow for the billions of guitarists in the world on UA-cam! haha. I hope you learned something. Thanks
Thank you, you’re such a great teacher!
Thank you!
Is it me, or does this guy look like he could be Adam Levine's older brother?
haha.
Really clear concise to the point ... imo ...appreciated

Great lesson!
Thank you Michael!
Lovely lesson. I would only use clean sound when explaining chords. ;-)

He plays it different than every other lesson out there. He added an extra note
Have you got any tips on muting strings?

Brendan Mclaughlin Thank you!

well the sound is not the same. Id like to see chord solo version of the intro. This is so simple not cool.
Thanks for your comment! I did this video 10 years ago, so I don't remember this song or video.
You explained way too fast the chorus.... :/

I lie I looked at it again and I have a ton of trouble being able to figure any one of the chords in the chorus out as well
