what the royal ballet's lost is mariinsky's gain. he's the fast rising british dancer the royal ballet produced but never had because they kept focusing on foreign dancers.
I think at the ROH he was not ready yet to move ahead. It still took him still a few years in Russia to become a principal. He would have become that too at ROH.
