Yeah, i quit after watching a 6000 dallor 150cc extra 300 lose frequency and fall to the ground. And that was back when you had to build them. Looking back at all the planes and all the algin helicopters i had and the other stuff, i could have bought a 150,000 dallor home. And then i wouldn't be living in an apartment and paying rent. That was a phase in my life , i wish i could have not went through. I loved it, especially racing the cars on the local tracks, but dam, i wasted alot of money. And still cant fly a helicopter like todd watts.
As much as I want to fly toys like these & move on to larger scales an more advanced. Even this 500$ wreck creeps me out. Is there such a plane that's so durable like nerf foam that beginners like me could practice with. Without going broke at start?
Need a better place to fly , to many obstacles like corn cobs , people and vehicles too close to the road their using . Could be dangerous for any spectators too . We had a mowed hay field we donated to a Montana RC club which has work out for many years now . They have strict safety and flight precautions to keep people and property safe .
It's not too badly damaged, the guy should be able to stick the bits back together with it looking like styrofoam. In the 60's and 70's when those model aircraft came down you knew about it with bits shattering everywhere but still, the modellers would simply repair the damaged parts for newly crafted parts. That said in those days the modellers built the planes from scratch following a detailed plan for every part, the wing structure would be like a skeleton until it had it's wing membrane ironed onto the frame joists. I remember listening to my uncle when he tried to sell some of his old model planes near on 50 years later and being told that the pilots of today want an instant plane ready to fly, they're not interested in learning the aerodynamics involved in creating a plane from scratch so his planes didn't sell. So on that basis....Yes the guys damaged plane in the video will probably never fly again.
I flew RC back in the 80s and 90s, and with the exception of one aircraft I built them all from balsa, and Monocote. I even modified a few. Without understanding aerodynamics, weight and balance, wing loading, etc., I couldn't have done that. It's ironic now that I'm dipping my toes back into the hobby again, all I can find are foam airplanes. Heck, Tower Hobbies doesn't even sell kits any more.
You don't need to understand aerodynamics to build a model plane. The plansa are very detailed. I used to love putting balsa planes together. Never really liked the foam planes, due to being manhandled too easily by the slightest of breezes. I really miss the smell of nitro burning in the morning. And I am currently building another balsa plane, so yes some people still like putting them together.

This was the WORST flight line management ever! Read the AMA flight line rules: establish a runway, a pilot line and spectator line, drone pilots may not harass fixed wing and keep all flight operations AWAY from the crowd etc.
There were 3 reason why you crashed. the first one: you cannot fly an edf in that location, the runway was not wide and you have obstacles on both sides so landing and takeoff are very dangerous The second one: too many drones i hate drones because they can fly far from the runway because they are fpv but the pilots won’t understand that, so you need to ask every single time to go away from the runway because you have to land an edf The third one: inexperience; yeah you need less excursion on the ailerons and on the elevator, if you want you can set on your radio a setting for the landing so you can fly with your settin during the flight and with the landing setting during the landing So you will be more smooth And I suggest you to do more hours on the simulator

This is why we have proper facilities.propper runways and we r covered by insurance if something happens if we damaged someone's property.this is just silliness.
Awesome. Great vid. Probably need a more wide open area to land but still awesome to see that fighter jet zooming through the sky. Thanks for sharing
The best ive personally witnessed was a guy hovering his expensive helicopter ( 500 size I think) while another flew his 4ft plane straight into it.. The guy with the heli was literally speechless and couldn't talk.. We couldn't believe he just bagged all the pieces up and walked off like a zombie without a word.. It was like his brain went into protection mode and shut it all out lol.
Probably was afraid if he let loose his anger something bad might have happened.
@@ernestschultz5065 No he was more of a quiet geek type and definitely close to 60. I think he was just shocked and stunned but it was amazing how he never said a word and walked off into the distance with his bag of bits lol.. It was years ago but still makes me chuckle 😜
@@georgebenson6279 did he ever come back to the field, or did that end his rc hobby?
Criss crossing where the pilots are standing is very sketchy. Flying over a corn field is sketchy too. You go down could take hours to find it if you’re lucky. Unless you have a locator attached.
Always fly in front of the strip and always choose strip that doesn't have trees in front and sides for 200 meters. It always works
That's what I was thinking That's a very narrow path to land on especially if there's any crosswinds you got to give yourself more room which is hard to find that looks like a recipe for disaster just by the look of the place that roll looks very narrow and dirty and if he landed he had to have landed in a straight line to that corn look tough!
This title should’ve been “airplane crash in 300 seconds” 🤣
Reading this entire group getting roasted in the comments was more entertaining.
Thank you sir ! We are enjoying it too !
Let's throw another foamie on the barbie!!!!
2 yrs later:
"Wonder what that grey chip was in my cornflakes" .. 🧐
Flew way too long, even with the bigger pack and it didn't seem like the pilot was using flaps on approach! Way too fast on approach!
Thats what I thought, way to hot.
Even flaps the jet would stall
Wow time flies lol. Did you see cleetus McFarland flying the b2motion rc bomber lol
“*Destroyed after 330 seconds*”
Someone needs to practice landing, he was coming in way too fast.
He didn't give that part any thought prior. Mindsets like that cause unwanted pregnancies too lmao
Karma. Dangerous flying with complete disregard for the safety of the other pilots in the pitts.
Well it's not an actual flying field so if they don't like having someone buzz over their head at 70mph they can just leave.
😉
Yeah clearly the 3 fixed wing pilots we had out have been flying together for a long time. We know each others flying capabilities and pay attention accordingly
@@matthewbalkema792 how does that help if theres an unforeseen problem? High speed low passes are EXACTLY when a problem is most likely to occur.
A catastrophic failure at low level pointed in a safe direction never hurt anyone.
Lose a servo horn or radio glitch loss of a control surface due to flutter while aimed at the back of a guys head and at the very least you spend the rest of the afternoon sitting in hard plastic chairs of the ER trying to figure out what to tell your wives so they will let you play together again someday.
“Pilots”
The guys AMA dislike.
No way I could focus on flying with all those mosquito sounding quadcopters flying around. Those are cool craft but I cannot stand the sound of them
any experienced seasoned pilot i know would never fly a jet with standing corn stalks on both sides of the landing strip. Plus his battery had to be about toast for voltage after that long of a flight.
I’ve landed on runways about that narrow and did fine, I just don’t think the guy had much experience
@@jacklets3851 Yeah that,s probably the case! but flying in a Corn Row Tunnel is taking big risk,s on a fast jet. We fly fast jets with nothing in site for miles that way there are no excuses but the Pilot himself

Couldn't have happened to a more deserving guy. Broke about every safety rule in the book for flying RC. No wonder the FAA is coming down on the rest of us because of asses like this.
Exactly . Wait what haha
That entire ordeal is about as unsafe as it can possibly get. This is what happens when idiots buy things and have absolutely no give a damn to learn proper ways of doing things
Good think nobody cares what you guys think lol. We can't all drive 2-3hrs just to fly for 25min. You fly where you can and accept the risks, the FAA is trying to ban aircraft because of drone spying not rc jets.
@@homersipes I flew a brand new plane, with a brand new receiver a few weeks ago. Got to far ahead of myself in my excitement and forgot to do a range test before the first flight. Found out about 5 seconds into the flight the receiver was bad and was getting a ton of signal holds. I was fortunate to get it down safely with out damage. All I can think about is what would happen if there was a failure like that was to happen when you are flying over the flight line like that. Seeing this after what happened to me, was horrifying, very very dangerous.
@@andrewvosecky9413 when i was a kid i remember seeing a 45% extra 300 fly straight through an rv at a fly in due to a battery failure. Luckily nobody was in the rv at the time but it was like a missile. I have been fortunate as to never have that kind of issue. I did get "shot down" years ago, i had frequency pin and was flying a 1/4 scale j3 cub and a guest was flying on channel 55 same as me and he flipped his transmitter on while tuning his engine and down my plane went. Its the shit in this video that is destroying the hobby for everyone else that does it responsibly.
That looks like a really, really stupid location to try to land your missile.
Isn't a open fild better to fly...
how can anyone concentrate with that infernal buzzing? they should be out on big playa somewhere in stead of flying in a cornfield down in a hole.
Idiot gonna hurt someone. He’d be kicked out immediately where I fly.
Those birds are not happy about those loud planes
For some reason there are some very unrealistic people in this comment section that do not realize that RC clubs, and locations are in short supply. The nearest one from me is over 40 minutes away. The guys in this video look like they're practically in the middle of nowhere, they're fine. I agree the pilot is going a little fast in a tight spot, but I'm sure everyone there knew the risks. I fly my fully custom 6ft wide pusher plane in my backyard because I literally can't even transport it in my car. Just be happy there's people even in the hobby. It was an unfortunate crash, but we've all had ours.
Jonathon Hebert - let's be friends haha !!!
40 minutes isn't that bad try two hours and no guarantee the condition will be favorable
And yea these younger guys obviously have the money to go out and buy another, if you are building it you would be a lot more cautious
It sucks when you crash but you still wanna fly more but have nothin else to fly.
Mans greatest achievement was flight but you have to learn to land first
If you are able to land your thing, only THEN you can fly.
@@ab3rsur314 But don't you have to fly before you can land?
@@Thunderbyrd. technically the truth. Good one.😅 yeeees you are right, but you know what I mean.
I thought I was going to see my first UA-cam video of an RC jet impacting into a person.
Hot landing. Need to slow down with flaps on approach?
Yeah, i quit after watching a 6000 dallor 150cc extra 300 lose frequency and fall to the ground. And that was back when you had to build them. Looking back at all the planes and all the algin helicopters i had and the other stuff, i could have bought a 150,000 dallor home. And then i wouldn't be living in an apartment and paying rent. That was a phase in my life , i wish i could have not went through. I loved it, especially racing the cars on the local tracks, but dam, i wasted alot of money. And still cant fly a helicopter like todd watts.
The walk of shame begins around the 5:30 mark. We have all been there.
I haven’t ,but I’m not a total moron like this bunch of pricks.
As much as I want to fly toys like these & move on to larger scales an more advanced. Even this 500$ wreck creeps me out. Is there such a plane that's so durable like nerf foam that beginners like me could practice with. Without going broke at start?
Yes, this is a fast, hard to handle jet. Most rc planes are much more forgiving !
How about toning down on the drone noise..how can you even concentrate with all that buzzing around🤔
F,18 did you locate the black box?
Flying over any pit area with any flying machine is just dangerous and stupid!
Thank you for your concern , I will let the pilots know !
Please , just do what Simon says !
@@pawpawstew I am flying a highly modified Kadet Sr. that has been flying for 22yrs. It has been crashed and repaired several times but continues to be my favorite all around flier. Show me a foamie that has anything near this useable life.
@@Warpig0321 I think what this dude is saying is that it's also about fixing (and learning to modify) the planes once you break them, it was a pretty long winded point but it's still valid. He wasn't saying Styrofoam planes are junk, it's just that you don't necessarily have to put it back the same as it was for it to fly, have some fun w it
The old way is and was fairly expensive and hard, so you have to modify the plane within your skill and budget (you can make custom Styrofoam parts, all you need is a sharp knife or razor blade. It will save you money and a trip to the hobby shop)
for the jets need a more "roomy" flying field methinks
Thts wrong place to be flying a jet not smart at all🤔
Thanks man ! Love to hear your opinion .
I’d be comfortable flying a jet like that from that location
Me: "Look how fast and graceful this jet is! It looks too fast to fly!"
Bird: "I think I will fly up and swoop it and do circles around it!"
Me: "Damn you mother nature, you showoff!"
Could always try flying at an actual field instead of a road.. just sayn.
@4:17 that was so cool, idk if it was just because it flew through a cloud but being so far away made it look like it broke the speed sound barrier
Later when the farmer sees miniature plane parts in his combine:
“What in tiny aviation?”
I got that! pretty good
That's what crazy glue is for.
So, one thing that you NEVER DO.... fly a damn rc plane or helicopter DIRECTLY OVER SPECTATORS, INDIVIDUALS, OR TRAFFIC.
I can't believe how dangerous this fool is flying that f-18.
That's what makes this video entertaining.
Let's forget for the moment of standing practically on the runway. But flying across the line of pilots multiple times that have their heads buried in FPV, and you have the makings of a truly tragic event. Completely un-safe. You're worried about a $500 plane! Withe the way you guys fly there, you should be more worried about criminal charges of negligence in regards to personal or property damage!
The way he's on his knees almost in tears is absolutely tradgic
That was not that bad. Great thing about foamies, a little glue and maybe some bamboo skewers and she's ready to go. We always had epoxy and other gear for field repairs. You've not flown enough if you've never crashed. At least it wasn't a balsa kit, do they even make those anymore?

Bummer. But it's only $500? That's cheap. It's ok buddy you'll get it fixed 💪
This was the WORST flight line management ever! Read the AMA flight line rules: establish a runway, a pilot line and spectator line, drone pilots may not harass fixed wing and keep all flight operations AWAY from the crowd etc.
Heck yeah that's what I keep telling em ! I invited the AMA out to fly with us , they said they were busy investigating a Ron Wade haha jp !
I taped mine up so it prevents major damage in crashes.
There were 3 reason why you crashed.
the first one: you cannot fly an edf in that location, the runway was not wide and you have obstacles on both sides so landing and takeoff are very dangerous
The second one: too many drones i hate drones because they can fly far from the runway because they are fpv but the pilots won’t understand that, so you need to ask every single time to go away from the runway because you have to land an edf
The third one: inexperience; yeah you need less excursion on the ailerons and on the elevator, if you want you can set on your radio a setting for the landing so you can fly with your settin during the flight and with the landing setting during the landing
So you will be more smooth
And I suggest you to do more hours on the simulator
Totally agree 👍
