@@FeyiMac I studied English Education in my first degree and I specialise in Adult Education and lifelong learning for masters; what are my chances of getting a job in canada
Can you please make a video on how to network as a immigrant, maybe with a few tips for introverts? As an introvert, networking is what scares me the most. I'm worried that I'll miss out on a lot of job opportunities because of my poor networking skills. Someone once told me that what we call connection in Nigeria is what they call networking in the western world and apparently it is just as important as it is in Naija.
This is the opportunity I was anticipating. Thank you for making it easier. You are really passionate with what you do. Keep it up. Good afternoon Feyi, I'm 29 years old and I lost my job due to the covid 19 pandemic. I already did my ECA but haven't being able to do IELTS due to the lack of funds. I recently started an advanced diploma with ICM through the help of wonderful friends and family members, I needed to boost my CRS score to help my Express entry profile. I'm currently studying for my IELTS through different UA-cam channels and it's being interesting and I'm putting in all effort to get nothing less than band 9. I would like to be one of the lucky winner's of the paid IELTS sponsorship. Thank you for being so helpful and God bless you 😊🙏
Basically they take 50% of your pay packet in tax (was my experience in a major Engineering Company in Ontario). Its as expensive as London, where I'm from.
I'm sorry but you don't start getting even close to 50% tax deductions until you make over $500k - yes, for real. If you make $70,000 a year in Toronto you pay just under 25% tax (if you claim nothing, less if you claim things as you should) - Salary $70,000 Federal tax deduction - $9,195 Provincial tax deduction - $4,488 CPP deductions - $2,898 EI deductions - $856 Total tax - $17,438 Net pay * $52,562 Marginal tax rate 32.65% Average tax rate 24.91% if you make $250,000 a year, you pay Salary $250,000 Federal tax deduction - $59,469 Provincial tax deduction - $36,722 CPP deductions - $2,898 EI deductions - $856 Total tax - $99,944 Net pay * $150,056 Marginal tax rate 52.95% Average tax rate 39.98% So less than 40%.....that engineering company must be paying beaucoup bucks

Canadians are some of the highest taxed people in the world. It’s crazy. Basically plan for at least 50% of your pay to go to taxes of some sort, income, sales, alcohol, excise, property etc etc. Income tax can be a fair bit different between provinces. For example BC and Alberta are much less versus Quebec and Nova Scotia which are the highest. It can be several thousand dollars a year difference. Ontario is in the middle.
NIVEA depends. Vancouver is a high cost of living yes, but not every city in BC has the same cost of living. Calgary and Edmonton are moderate cost of living. It all depends where you live in the provinces, the tax rate is the same regardless of cost of living. Conversely yes, Quebec has the highest taxes, but a lower cost of living. But the taxes can be much higher so it all equals out. For example, I lived in BC, when I moved to Ottawa my incomes taxes went up $3,500 a year more. Then if I lived in Quebec my income taxes would have been $8,000 more than BC. But there are things you get for free in Quebec you don’t elsewhere. So you have to evaluate. I’m just stating that the lowest taxes are BC and Alberta, and Alberta also doesn’t have a provincial sales tax, which makes a huge difference as well (several thousand a year for a typical person).
@@SailorSea88 I have read a lot about taxes and the low cost of living in Quebec and you buttressed that. I am however not informed about the free things and peculiar merits of living there. Would you please shed some light on these?
