If that is the case herr then the project manager for the sake of saving the cost has reduced the head count in the project asking employees to work for more hours. In normal cases project team may have to work extended hours during deployment or at a critical juncture.. not 24x7 ,365 days.

Even our allowed sick leave also they are not allowing to take.if we take that one day leave our Reporting manager ask us to work on Saturday on Sunday .This is happening for the past one and half year in our team. but then u have people like me...I only look for big companies where I don't do anything (for about 2-3 yrs, most large companies are inefficient, only a handful of employees are stupid enough to work hard there). I get PIPed out and I repeat the cycle. I get a lot of free time to pursue other hobbies..but I am good at work so can clear interviews easily... so managers lose there shit at me...but they are unable to distinguish between hard workers and me...(which is why they press hard on them pushing them towards suicide). In my defense, the top companies I have worked at have shit work , no learning, just adding print statements to debug the code while my American counter parts build the next ChatGPT, and my manager (and his manager) thinks that he is creating the next cryogenic rocket engine.

The discussion was related to goals and way to achieve it. To that Mr. Murthy reply that if youth has a goal to achieve then they should at least devote 70hrs/week. It is near-sightedness of the people who are spamming the comment sections with this comment. He never said that an employee needs to devote 10hrs/day to an organization. The Anna Sebastian case is regarding exploiting of a fresher's naiveness, passion and commitment by her senior. Clearly from the letter it was clear that everyone was aware of her senior's torturous habits still neither she nor others raised concern over the work tactics that's been followed by her manager.
I have friends who work in E&Y and audit,taxation of other companies and there is a pattern that they are overworked where the manager dumps work at end of day.and this is considered normal,where my friends struggled as new employees for few yrs . Is there anyone working on Accenture Tamilnadu, OMR? How is the work atmosphere there? I often hear that certain Senior leaders in a particular department are always every year loading their new employees with work. When I heard this news, I remembered Accenture. Such 'leaders' do not have leadership skills but are made to be leaders by just subject knowledge.

If that is the case herr then the project manager for the sake of saving the cost has reduced the head count in the project asking employees to work for more hours. In normal cases project team may have to work extended hours during deployment or at a critical juncture.. not 24x7 ,365 days.

1. Poor performance 2. Between resignation of an employee and new hire 3. Unethical behaviour from manager, 4.cost cutting measure by project manager or the management.
My understanding says first come out from the toxic environment and start something that can give you the mental peace and some decent amount of earning. Gradually with experience you will start earning more.. with peacefully mind we can plan and process with harming others. In corporate you will be forced to choose unrealistic methods for the profit of your boss . It is in infinite greed.

Personally in most setups, I'm not sure if the management is also aware that the employees are overworked to death. It's usually the immediate reporting managers who unnecessarily and persistently pressurise their subordinates due to some devious pleasures or agreeing to unrealistic deadlines without giving enough time to the employees to recuperate, post long working hours.

Even our allowed sick leave also they are not allowing to take.if we take that one day leave our Reporting manager ask us to work on Saturday on Sunday .This is happening for the past one and half year in our team.

All those EY company is MNC but company manager are india. They are earing big salary and workload towards new employees. This need to stop some where. We are going where.
but then u have people like me...I only look for big companies where I don't do anything (for about 2-3 yrs, most large companies are inefficient, only a handful of employees are stupid enough to work hard there). I get PIPed out and I repeat the cycle. I get a lot of free time to pursue other hobbies..but I am good at work so can clear interviews easily... so managers lose there shit at me...but they are unable to distinguish between hard workers and me...(which is why they press hard on them pushing them towards suicide).
In my defense, the top companies I have worked at have shit work , no learning, just adding print statements to debug the code while my American counter parts build the next ChatGPT, and my manager (and his manager) thinks that he is creating the next cryogenic rocket engine.

Where ever I am watching news related to this case I am reading that 70 hrs/week comment but how many of them actually listened the entire question? The discussion was related to goals and way to achieve it. To that Mr. Murthy reply that if youth has a goal to achieve then they should at least devote 70hrs/week. It is near-sightedness of the people who are spamming the comment sections with this comment. He never said that an employee needs to devote 10hrs/day to an organization. The Anna Sebastian case is regarding exploiting of a fresher's naiveness, passion and commitment by her senior. Clearly from the letter it was clear that everyone was aware of her senior's torturous habits still neither she nor others raised concern over the work tactics that's been followed by her manager.
I have friends who work in E&Y and audit,taxation of other companies and there is a pattern that they are overworked where the manager dumps work at end of day.and this is considered normal,where my friends struggled as new employees for few yrs . So this is a systemic issue caused due to ppl like Mr narayan Murthy who think asking ppl to work for 70hrs/week is great.however same organisations have different policies in Europe etc.again know this as I work with European counterparts

@yastikakumar7257 it is not 10hrs day if it is 70hrs.u should understand 70hrs/5 would be 14hrs a day.work week is 5days.also no such thing is told in European countries.there a 30 yr old becomes manager without having to slog for 14hrs a day.instead they work 9hrs a day strictly....and still they are at more senior positions faster when compared to us...why do u think so??? It is because of toxic work expectations for Indians created by such boomer Indians
