I have watched numerous youtube videos on painting water colour leaves. This was, by far, the easiest and quickest methodology producing wonderful results. Thank you for sharing your gift.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm so glad you found this helpful. And thanks for watching. 🤩
I'm so glad I found your video. Your loose but realistic style is how I have wanted to paint leaves but not really achieved it. Also, the way you use your paint tubes to get beautifully thin centres and veins is genius. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much! 😊 I’m so glad you found this helpful. And welcome to the channel. I hope you find lots more goodies here.
Beautiful process for leaves. Why are leaves so fun to paint? ☺️. Can’t wait to try it.
I know right?! I love painting leaves, too. 😀
Wow. Im AMAZED, and cant wait to try this!! Thank you!!
You are so welcome! Happy painting! 😃
Oh my gosh! I finally made a leaf I like! Thank you SO much!
YAY!!!! That's fantastic!! 👏🎉 I'd love to see it. If you post it to Instagram, tag me and use #paintingwithbeala so I can comment on it!
That’s the best leaf I’ve seen on all of UA-cam ❣️
Wow!!! That's an incredible compliment. Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate your kind words. 😍
Beautiful, how I wish mine would look like yours ! Love your work !
Thank you so much! Keep practicing, you'll get there. I bet you are closer than you think. 😃
Thanks, Teresa. Today I watched a Spaniard employ the technique used in Girl With a Pearl. Sorry, I forgot the terminology. In her painting she used two figures, one directly upside down from the other. Thanks to your video I more or less understood what she explained. So, thanks again for your great explanations.
Hi, Angie! I'm so glad my video was helpful. I have not seen that one with the two figures in opposite positions. Sounds interesting. Thanks so much for watching!
Love your videos! You describe everything so well that I can't wait to try the techniques myself.
Excellent! Thanks so much. Glad you are enjoying the videos! 😁
I just found you, love your leaves and the way you mark the veins.Thank you!😊
Thank you! And welcome to my channel. So happy you found me. 😃
Just what I needed!! Thankyou for sharing

Thank you so much for your kind words! So happy you enjoyed it.
Many thanks! ❤️
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching!!🤩
Thank you for sharing, this was a great tutorial! I am definitely going to have a go at this and with some practice hopefully I may have similar results. Thank you again.💕
I'm so happy you enjoyed it. It may take a couple of attempts, but I am confident you'll get it quickly. I had to fight my instinct to brush in the additional colors. Dropping them in didn't feel natural at first. But once you do it a few times, it gets much easier. Best of luck!
Beautiful.
Thank you!
Great video. Very detailed and instructive. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Thank you so very much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
Beautiful art and presentation TY

Thanks. So glad you liked it! Thanks for watching. 😁
I am fairly new to watercolor but have been practicing. This was incredibly helpful and fun. Thank you.
I'm so glad this was helpful for you! I am working on many more videos so stay tuned. :) If there is anything specific you need help with, let me know. I'm happy to try to help.
Lovely piece. I hadn't thought of using a tube for veining. Toothpick, yes but not a tube. Cool idea.
Thank you for sharing!
The opposite end of a small paint brush works well, too, but the paint tube is my fav. Thanks for watching!
Beautiful. Thanks for showing. Greetings from Bielefeld in germany.
Hello! And thank you for watching! :)
Great tutorial!
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you! I enjoyed your video very much. I also use every colour you mentioned except greenish umber. I enjoyed learning how you drop the colours in to keep the leaf looking natural. I like the idea of using the corner of a tube to make the veins. I’ve beeen using the end of my brush which is thicker. Brilliant idea! I love your end result.
Yay! So glad you found some useful tips. I also used to use the end of a paint brush, the edge of an old credit card, and even a toothpick, until one day I was refilling my paints and realized, hey, this just might work even better! And now it's all I use. Thank you so much for subscribing! I really do appreciate it. I hope you find many more ideas here.☺
Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure. Thanks for watching!
☺Wow! I can't believe how nicely my leaf turned out, I was very upset and frustrated today after trying some other videos about painting leaves then I found yours and I decided to give it a try. It was sooo easy and not stressful! thanks Beala, I have subscribed and will be practicing with your other videos .
Laura, you just made my day! I am so very happy you had success with my method! When I was first learning watercolors, I was constantly frustrated. I have a gift for making things harder than they should be! LOL :0! And then I decided to retrain my natural tendencies and make every step as simple and relaxed as possible. I've been so much happier since! And that's why I decided to start a UA-cam channel. Painting with watercolors should and can be fun and relaxing. I hope I can help anyone struggling to lean into the magic of watercolors and completely enjoy painting. Thanks for subscribing and watching! If there is something in particular you would like to learn/see, let me know. I'm happy to take requests! :) If you are on IG or FB, tag me if you post a pic of your leaves--I'd love to see your success! :)
Thank you so much for this great tutorial, you make this look so easy! I look forward to more instructional videos.
And, thanks to you, I have a theme and reason to start a sketchbook. “Leaves and trees”. Perhaps a video on texture - specifically tree bark - is forthcoming?
@@andip862 Thank you for your kind words. I LOVE that you are starting a themed sketchbook! And thank you for the tutorial suggestion - Textures/Tree Bark going on the list right now! :)

Love this! I painted along with you and by the third try I was was happy with the results. Still having trouble with the vein. Not sure how the color was applied to the edge of tube. Thank you for sharing!
Yay! So glad you kept at it and found success. Actually, I do not apply paint to the tube edge. It appears that way, but actually, it's a bit of magic that makes it look that way. 😆What happens is, when the paint is still wet and the mark is made (with any tool - tube edge, credit card edge, paint brush handle, etc.) some of the pigment will collect inside the indentation making it appear slightly darker. This works especially well when you have used multiple colors - like with our leaves where we dropped in several colors. Just a side note: press lightly. You just want to dent the paper, not tear it. Hope that helps! 😃
Love your style. Thank you.
Where did you get the lovely blue brush rest? Diana xoxo
Thank you so much! My sister-in-law made it for me. I'm trying to get her to open an Etsy shop, but so far, no luck.
Beautiful leaves! I am also looking at your beautiful brush rest. Can you tell me who made it for you?
Thank you so much! My sweet sister-in-law made the brush rest for me for Christmas. It's the perfect size. Holds 5 brushes.
I’m enjoying your tutorials. One thing my paint keeps doing is granulating. Does this happen with the paint you use?
I'm so glad you are enjoying them! Some colors tend to granulate more than others, and some brands do it more. My understanding is that the size of the pigment particles used in manufacturing determine the amount of granulation. Some artists love it, some don't. I've seen it most often in blues and blacks, but it can happen in any color. Cobalt Blue, Ultramarine, and Cerulean Blue are the ones I have noticed doing it the most. I use mostly Windsor & Newton with a few random colors in other brands. Windsor & Newton & Sakura paints have the least granulation from what I've experienced. I hope that helps.
Where did you purchase your paintbrush holder? It is both functional and beautiful.
My sister-in-law made it for me. I really love it. She and my brother are both potters. I'm trying to get them to open an Etsy shop. So many people have been asking about that paintbrush holder! I told her she needs to make a bunch right now before they open. I'll let everyone know if and when they up and running.
my leaf turned out completely different
Do you like it? The brush you use can change the way it looks.
@@bealaart yeah it’s pretty
