It's beautiful! I like what you said about giving some of the control over to the watercolor. As a newbie I keep wanting to control....to make it near perfect....my way. lol. I'm going to try taking your words to heart as it seems like it would be more freeing. Tfs

Oh, I am so happy that spoke to you! I had trouble at first allowing watercolors be watercolors and then wondered why my paintings looked forced and thick. LOL I kind of had to find my zen about it before I could really have fun with it. :) I'm sure you'll settle into it. I have lots more tutorials coming up where we will practice a more relaxed mindset with a loose painting style. Hopefully they will be helpful for you, too.

Teresa explained the strategies well and made it look so attainable. I am going to try this! I hope it will look as wonderful as Teresa's finished product. I love that Teresa explained it so thoroughly and painted so confidently, narrating the whole while to let you know what to look for and what to aim for. I love the color choices and that Teresa shared all of the color names and places where I can buy them.

@@lindyhawthorne2164 If it's any consolation, it took lots of practice for me in the beginning to be able to let go of my precise painting tendencies. Even now, loose warmups are a must if I haven't painted in a few days not just for my hand, but for my mind as well. I usually first paint an ugly one (ok, sometimes more than just one - LOL), before I can really relax into it again. One thing that helped me was to play some really mellow music while I painted and go ahead and accept that the first couple you paint for the day will likely be trash. I found that when I knew that upfront, I didn't try so hard, and that in itself made me relax and my painting got better. Keep me posted how it's going! :)

Great relaxing tutorial! I really like how you shared your process each step of the way. I learned tips about dropping in the color and not moving it around so much. I will try this. Thank you! 🙂
