    A very helpful technique for shadows... such a tricky part of botanical paintings for me. I know it’s crucial to add them, but I’m always afraid to ruin my previous hard work. Your method takes away the fear!

    I absolutely adore your videos and find them soooooo helpful after the number of poor ones I have wasted my time on. Would it ever be possible for you to share your drawings so that we can print them and actually follow along with you? From one (former) teacher to another, your teaching methods are outstanding! I am now 80 and painting for just 3 years,, and you are the BEST - the very BEST!!!

    Lovely Louise. Can I ask: The aluminium palette, is that your favorite palette? And what is your opinion on it? I just received mine, and am not sure about it. The sides Looks high a bit, and I don’t know how easy it will be to come and go with the brush?

    • @LouiseDeMasi
      @LouiseDeMasi  5 років тому +1

      Hi Louise,
      My favourite palettes are the little ceramic ones I use with the large sloping wells. The only problem with them is that they are too small and you need ten of them to put all your paints on. Ideally I'd love a really big round ceramic palette with big sloping wells that has a lid. I could buy a lazy susan to sit it on and then I could rotate it....what bliss! I haven't been able to find one yet so let me know if you ever find one. I've found large round ceramic palettes with non-sloping wells but never one with the sloping wells. I make do with my metal palette because it has the sloping wells and I can close it when I'm not using it. The wells themselves could be larger. I rarely use flat brushes so it's been working ok for me but if I was painting on full sheets of paper with big flat brushes it wouldn't be suitable.

    • @louiseboyer1245
      @louiseboyer1245 5 років тому +1

      Hi Louise, thank you so much for this detailed answer. I too am searching for this big round porcelain palette, with slanted wells, and a nice sturdy cover. A porcelaine cover would be so nice too. Wish they would make a Louise de Masi one 😃! I would be twices happy to buy it.
      I would even consider a big rectangular one , slanted wells, porcelaine cover ❤️, that would serve as a mixing try too 🥰🥰🥰. If ever I see one, I will certainly advise you 🤗
