It won't ever happen. The WWE only exists to try to control the wrestling industry and make sure their financial lives are controlled. That's why the majority of the wrestlers will never go anywhere in their careers while in the WWE at this point.

I was on a small commuter flight from Evansville IN to Cincinnati OH and being a wrestling geek I chatted briefly with Al. He was the nicest guy ever .. he let other older people and women into the aisle before he left. He was seriously the most centered dude ever. This was during the Head era of his WWF career. I got mad respect for this guy.

The shaking hands thing is really true, you wouldn't be headlining anything if there wasn't other people to make up the card. You also wouldn't be making any money if not for the big draws on the card it's a two way street. One of the few nice things Bret wrote in his book that wasn't about himself or his family was that house shows headlined by Hulk were big payoffs to be on and everyone including himself shook Hulk's hand and thanked him. Hart Foundation got quite a few spots on house shows with Hulk and the payoffs were huge so it helped them a lot.

Each has their perk each as something they don't do. HBK was a hell of an entertainer and made everyone laugh for the right reasons. Snow just made people laugh because he always got his ass kicked and as said. Had an unhealthy love twards a fake head. Whether it was a bit or not it's still sad. Think HBK was more the level head. Snow is indeed a moron. When interviewed by Sean Oliver, Snow aggressively asserted that Hogan vs. Andre was "unequivocally" the best match at WM3, above Savage vs. Steamboat (Oliver's choice), because it generated more revenue. Not only is there no measuring tool to determine which match drew the most people, what makes something the best is pure, subjective opinion. I'm damn sure not going to declare "Taylor Swift" a better musical act than Rage Against the Machine, despite her selling 10 times as many records. Snow dismisses the positions of others and believes his own opinions are fact. Dumb, and dangerous.

    • @jpalvarez4972
      @jpalvarez4972 3 роки тому +1

@@Provos7777 Again, what is the measuring tool to determine who drew each and every fan to WM3? Was each audience member individually polled? You, like Snow, are literally trying to push two opinions (Hogan/Andre drew the crowd, the biggest-drawing match is the best) as unequivocal fact. You have zero empirical data to support your first assertion, on top of which you have constructed another assertion based on completely subjective opinion about what is "best" in a fucking entertainment field. Seek help.

Goldust was a character that Dustin made work. That's the first clear example that came to me.

Yes that came to mind also and let's not forget The Undertaker. Vince came up with that gimmick as well.

    Al: "Characters don't work"
Also Al: "Undertaker is the Undertaker"
I get what he's saying, but he's using an example that proves him wrong? Because I'm fairly certain Mark Calaway isn't a zombie wizard who killed his parents in a fire.

He did go on to say almost never work. Probably realised after he mentioned Undertaker.

Undertaker works because he's Undertaker? The implication being he's actually an Undetaker with demonic powers. Ok Al. Ok.

Given what he said abou gimmick vs. character what does he think of Bray Wyatt? Hes had three different character/gimmicks and has made them all work reasonably well.

    But i love 80's & 90' wrestling fr LOL.

Mr. Snow can’t say “characters never work.”…Undertaker was a character, and now a legend. Remember Biker Taker? That was a gimmick. Which was more popular? But, that’s probably the exception that proves the rule.

Well like Al snow said, there aren't really characters in wrestling, bc for Mark Calloway to be taken seriously in the Undertaker gimmick. He had to become the undertaker, to Mark it was more than a stupid character or gimmick. It was him, and his lively hood. So in a way there wasn't any character work being done. Mark Calloway became the Undertaker Gimmick.

I use to be such a fan of HBK, and guess I still am, but it really seems like he was a total prick. I guess that's what Al was talking about though, that's why his gimmick worked so well.

Same here HBK had this swagger that in the early 90s wasn't common to see on everyday television for a young man who loves rooting for the "bad guys". But it wasn't long after that I learned that HBK was easily the worst of the worst when it came to ego maniac assholes who cares little about anything but himself

  • @josephmiller4497

He is so smart and anyone who says it's not real talk to Droze who broke his neck against Delo Brown who every time he is asked you see the pain in his face that's real and sid snapping his leg but the end of the match is set but like Al said the moves are real and Shawn was like any addict it changes you into a person who only cares about yourself and you don't care who you hurt and to get what you when you want you'll do it but Shawn made it out alive so he did ok so did hall XPac Nash is the type that can say I am done and he is not many like that.
