Awesome! I am in the market for a KTM. Not sure which to go for since I am hungry to replace my street bike for something to go offroad. I wanted the 990 adventure, then the 1190 R came out and now the 1090 R. Which would you go for if you were in the market for a KTM adventure bike?

Gotta love it how the Russian are always working on the tire while its Ozzie owner is babbling into the camera.
Yeah I'll cop that but no quite true, if you notice I was out of breath in the forest, coz I just put the tyre on. You can;t film, tell a story and fix a flat, unless of course you put the camera on a stand.
Fair enough. Good on ya for showing the world that people are decent and good everywhere. Bikers of the world unite! :)

I'm from Australia. The are excellent value adv riding in central and south east asia. You don't need lots of money.

It's a very strong belief of mine. The world's population is having the shit scared into staying at home by over hyped bullshit. You can always find conflict in this world, been going on for centuries, BUT at the same time, most of humanity is seeking peace.
I had to laugh at the tire problem almost from the word go. There is a reason we call it adventures in motorcycling...not finely executed rides made after flawless planning.
I couldn't believe it. I wasn't going hard and all of a sudden there was this very significant CLUNK that shook the bike. I suspected a VERY sharp edged rock or piece of metal did the damage.

I'm surprised you went back after being threatened with prison after overstaying your visa due to a broken bike.
Believe me it took some convincing. I had to make a number of enquiries before I was satisfied I'd be welcomed with open arms .............and released to get home at the end of the trip.

Amazing, ... awesome that you guys met again and went on tour together. Unbelievable.. the one guy almost no english - the other most certainly no russian.... having a great time, because they are riding together. I do like this underlying message of this trip :-) And the filming quality is pretty amazing too; I streamed it to my TV and I am impressed.. may I ask about the equipment / cameras you used ? .. awaiting part 2 ;-)
Very difficult to film adventure with just to riders. A camera Sony HXR70P, don't make them anymore, water resistant and dust proof, third inch chip. B camera, Sony action cam, however I've now upgraded to the latest model because it has improved image stabilisation. something 3000. You'll find it.

This is probably the 3rd or 4th time I'm watching the Magadan series and honestly, its as good and exciting as the Long Way Around series. Really inspiring guys! Hope I can take my 1190 Adventure R around the world one day.
