Great demonstration of how skill is way more important than equipment. Not to take away anything from the bike. An unskilled rider (me) would get permanently stuck in about 15 seconds on a bike like that. Chris makes it look easy through technique, experience, and total mastery of his machine.
Chris continues to amaze how he handles such a large bike under unreal conditions ... and with a smile on his face. Thanks again for another fine video.
Chris Birch is amazing and such a good representative for KTM. They are lucky to have him.. I usually am not susceptible to marketing, but this video makes me want to go buy an 1190.
You get all the credit in the world for taking a mud bath behind that bike. I can only imagine how big some of the roost was! Thanks for sharing! Oh and I should take back the credit because your 1090 review is part to blame for me spending the money on one. :D I do love the bike though. Front plastics are a jigsaw puzzle though to pull and put back on. Again thanks for sharing the video and all of your videos I enjoy them immensely.
So the big girl can be tamed! I must say I bought a 2015 1190 R and I go off what Mr. CB dose on his, and I try the same here at home. So Cal USA, I love this wheel. Thank you so much to MADTV.
MAD TV and Chris Birch you have fans all the way in Europe (Croatia) , love your program, and your wild spirit :) keep it going and if you want to see and try some great off roading come to Croatia. I'm buying beer :))
Birchy makes this look way too easy! We ride this spot all the time and what the video can't show is how slippery it is - the smooth looking rocks are like ice to ride on and are tricky on a 300, let alone an 1190. Once you loose momentum you're going nowhere and it's just as tricky to ride downhill as up. In some places the ruts dig out straight away so when you get stuck you really get stuck (bellied out like Birchy's 1190 did), energy sapping stuff... Bryce is a good keen man and Phil and his e-tool are an asset on any ride :-) I would almost bet on Birchy having busted out the usual Subway for lunch... Thanks for another great video MAD.
+David Lacey Excellent description. I had Birchy's Romaniacs 300 for the shoot with good tyres but with the moose tubes well worn out. Being from Australia that was the first time I'd ridden in Coromandel. I've never been in an environment so bloody slippery. Everything was slippery! Shooting and riding that was a real challenge but I'm happy with the result, and I'm glad we decided on doc style for this vid as you can hear the interaction between Phil, Bryce and Chris, clearly they are great mates and it comes through in the video. Thanks for adding your description of the area, spot on :)
Loved that - great effort fellas. "broke an indicator" damn funny Birchy after all that. Superb riding thru some hard tracks on a big whale of a bike. Top marks to the camera dude too.....hard yakka all round by the looks. Yeah bois!!
Yeah, I know which bike I'd rather be riding on those trails. Kinda good video to explain to people that dual purpose adventure bikes are a bad compromise. Fine for fire roads etc but forget it for single track. Otherwise you need to have genius level skill like our friend Mr Birch here.
I think it showed the opposite: the bike really can go anywhere. Not that you'd want to go that gnarly w/ it, but you could where others in the genre couldn't. Then on the road, those other bikes would be specs in the rearview...
AWESOME how you have fun on those tiny roads ... with that 1190 KTM MOTORCYCLE ... the one that has VERY MUCH WEIGHT ... it seems like a LIGHT 150kg MOTORCYCLE. - INCREDIBLE your ABILITY to make ESAY and SIMPLE ... what is HARD and IMPOSSIBLE for any of US. Greetings from Argentina MARCELO
I could feel all of my strength quickly ebbing just thinking about horsing that heavy pig through 1 mud hole! Very few riders would attempt such a ride that Birch made look relatively easy and fewer succeed! I'll stick with my KTM 690 that wears me out, but doesn't require help to pick up.
i like the 1190s, but i thought of this while watching u guys ride, its funny how u can tell some bikes by the roost marks they leave, my ttr125 leave a surface roost but on the other hand my cr250 leave a rut, lol
I noticed that too. at first I thought maybe the rider was missing his right arm N rode with a prostatic arm. I have a buddy who rides that way. realized after camera issue
This man either has massive balls... or he has none left. Can't decide which. As for the bike - if it takes Chris Birch and 2 shovelmen to pull it through then it's probably a bit too heavy for that. :P
Sometimes when my KLR gets away from me the thought goes through my head about how heavy it is. I can only imagine adding another 100 pounds and 125 HP, absolutely terrifying lol.
I prefer "unplugged" videos. If I want music, I can still mute the video and listen to a music track I like, but that doesn't work the other way arround ;-)
Looks like awesome fun. I wouldn't have got my G650 xCountry through that, let alone my 950 ADV, and I think the 1190 is even heavier. Must get to Aus or NZ to go to one of your classes.
Just put a new rad in my 950SE. This weekend to the Ganaraska (where I broke the old one) for more rip and release. This video provides just the fire my loins crave. Here's to all foolish bastards on big Katoom V-twins who ride through everything the wee bikes think they own.
Now spare a thought for the cameraman!....me! Completely showered in mud on numerous occasions, for your enjoyment! :)
Exactly what I was thinking the entire time! Nice work! I'm not sure how you managed to get such good footage in all of that mud, but well done!
It was very bloody hard and a lot of camera washing and lense cleaning during the shoot. And I had to ride it as well!
4:40 friendly fire😀
+Motorcycle Adventure Dirtbike TV Well done and by the way, it is lens not lense.
fine work!
Great demonstration of how skill is way more important than equipment. Not to take away anything from the bike. An unskilled rider (me) would get permanently stuck in about 15 seconds on a bike like that. Chris makes it look easy through technique, experience, and total mastery of his machine.
Probably the best advertising KTM got in a long time.
Great Stuff!

It did make me buy a 1190 lol
same haha@@ant4467
I've watched all these 1190 videos and the 1090 videos over and over again and they never stop amazing me! Incredible riding on such a big bike.
What about the camera work! :)
Motorcycle Adventure Dirtbike TV that’s impressive too 😀

I enjoy your videos the most. Can't believe some of the things you can do with that bike.
Cheers from New Hampshire, USA
Absolutely awesome! I just like watching Mr. Birch put that 1190AAAAAR through it`s paces. An amazing machine! An an amazing rider as well!
So the big girl can be tamed! I must say I bought a 2015 1190 R and I go off what Mr. CB dose on his, and I try the same here at home. So Cal USA, I love this wheel. Thank you so much to MADTV.

Amazed! Congratulations to Chris! to the cameraman and to the 1190r

Who wants to see Chris on a 690 enduro r?
I want to see him on crf1000 dct
The guy's a freak on 2 wheels. Awesome work Dave.
Unwavering determination, that's what it takes.
Yep and also by the cameraman!
Never payed too much attention to these KTM's. Now I want one!
You are my hero Mr B loved watching it well done to all, superb team effort and mad skill
+Nerb1 after watching this you ride that beast extremely well. A lot more ferocious as an offroad machine than I understood.
Loved that - great effort fellas. "broke an indicator" damn funny Birchy after all that. Superb riding thru some hard tracks on a big whale of a bike. Top marks to the camera dude too.....hard yakka all round by the looks. Yeah bois!!
Looks like a paradise! :D Very hard enduro! Awesome
That was awesome! And a big thank you for featuring the 1190's glorious soundtrack.
Man, it really really helps when you know wtf you're doing...
Absolutely
Probably the best mud driving motorcycle video on youtube.
i'm tired just looking at this.great stuff guys.
That thing sounds like a monster! What an effort, great work!
That is amazing!! way to show everyone what really matters, skill over machine!
That akrapovic exhaust sounds sweeeeeeeet!
Yes!!
Awesom! 220 kilo bike flies like a feather!

Can't wait to see Birch on that 1090R in Hard Enduro.
An 1190 on the trail just seems crazy. And the amazing mr. Birch makes it look like any other trials bike.
let's face it : those exc were idling...
Yeah, I know which bike I'd rather be riding on those trails. Kinda good video to explain to people that dual purpose adventure bikes are a bad compromise. Fine for fire roads etc but forget it for single track. Otherwise you need to have genius level skill like our friend Mr Birch here.

Now that's a ktm advertising!!! Awesome what that big bike can ride with a talented guy. Bike seems pretty tough
Looks like a great run! Muddy as hell with some deep ruts but what are friends for if they can't help pull you through!
An inspiration to say the least. Thumbs up
Maybe KTM sell a optional Warn Winch for the Adventure! Ha ha! Incredibel riding!
So awesome!I just bought a tricked 1090. I'm gonna ride just like Chris😆
Awesome video Chris Birch

Thanks 👍
KTM1190 Adventure で凄いですね~♪ ホントの冒険だ!!
I was impressed with the wonderful riding technique. It's muddy, but it looks very fun.
That wouldn't be fun for too many people :)
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV
I see, I like it
Thank you for the fun video.
Top stuff MAD, that looks like bloody hard work
Mean as bro, good clean fun. So is there a part two, riding out again or the 1190 still at the Hut!!
Those 1190's are amazing bikes they go almost anywhere in the right hands!
Just Blip It! and shovels, and two friends to help push... lol
nice gardening skills, very important for this style of riding.
It sure is!
MAD... You guys are indeed MAD..
I can imagine KTM project developers frantically taking notes while watching this
Cameraman never dies ❤
It was great fun filming him.
Geez Beez, Chris makes the 1190 look like it weights only 100kg. Skills to you man. Silver Top - Dougie.
Love the product placement at the end. Smooth.
Hopefully Chris' sponsorships include a bike washing person(s). Yikes that's some mud, reminds me of the brown glue around here. Gnarly.
A fun ride and film
Nice! Looks awesome...Wait until you see what we have you riding in Vietnam.
Вот это понимаю бездорожье и грязь хорошая, колеи глубокие, наши места напоминает
You are insane. AMAZING Beast Control.
I want to see Chris take that beast trials riding now
look up pol tares
That's why I'm a fair weather rider. :) Must be awesome being able to ride like this though.
Chris has skills but that bike looks light and with a friendly power delivery and sweet handling.
Unbelievable! Very impressive.
is that bike still alive? :)
Alive and well following a thorough jet wash.
Chris you are bloody nuts mate. love it! ;-)
You are my hero Chris!
Chris, you are nuts dude!!!
Awesome job!!
his skills are amazing . the cameramen on this shoot got a little beat up i think , well edited too Cheers
Levou a 1190 ao EXTREMO... Trilha cavernosa... Show.
I think extreme was the right word.
Awesome!! I want to join you guys next time!
Simply awesome!
i like the 1190s, but i thought of this while watching u guys ride, its funny how u can tell some bikes by the roost marks they leave, my ttr125 leave a surface roost but on the other hand my cr250 leave a rut, lol
OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fantastic video.
I noticed that too. at first I thought maybe the rider was missing his right arm N rode with a prostatic arm. I have a buddy who rides that way. realized after camera issue
great video...wish I could afford to thrash my bike like that...
Thank god for friends
I reckon the DCT Africa Twin would have had the edge in this muddy terrain.
That's some skilled and gutsy riding (y)
This man either has massive balls... or he has none left. Can't decide which.
As for the bike - if it takes Chris Birch and 2 shovelmen to pull it through then it's probably a bit too heavy for that. :P
What a good looking bike
....the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost go for a ride.....👍
Awsome work 👍 but what's with the left hand throttle bikes ?
+jason underwood Due to mud on lenses, to get the best out of some shots they were mirrored and magnified.
Must have been fun going back.
That's something the GS1200 would never do it
This is wate the GS1200 kan do very esy like a breese
Nice gentle Sunday afternoon ride then lads........
Looks like a good day!
+Nerb1 he tried to do a nerb at 5:47 haha
Simply amzing
What could possibly go wrong, lol 😂 respect
Absolutely AMAZING!!!
I couldn't even hike up those tracks
as a motorcyclist: cool! - as a hiker: damn trail destroyers
Cn a ducati multistrada go on ths type of adventure????? Cn it perform like the ktm???
Sometimes when my KLR gets away from me the thought goes through my head about how heavy it is. I can only imagine adding another 100 pounds and 125 HP, absolutely terrifying lol.
Nice as always. No music or voice over though?
+ThisLifeRiding Nope, just that sweet twin. Shall we call it, unplugged.
Lol, I think that could work. Great video man. Loved it.
+Motorcycle Adventure Dirtbike TV Alot of good videos are ruined by music and such, thanks for not having any!
I prefer "unplugged" videos. If I want music, I can still mute the video and listen to a music track I like, but that doesn't work the other way arround ;-)
music over the action, motor sucks. so '80's
Crazy and loving it.
Curious to know if the 1190 was holding up the group or did any of the 300 EXCs get stuck at points too?
I held them up quite a bit, but they were happy to help and laugh win me
Looks like awesome fun. I wouldn't have got my G650 xCountry through that, let alone my 950 ADV, and I think the 1190 is even heavier. Must get to Aus or NZ to go to one of your classes.
That’s some extremely skilled riding, on a 2 stroke, or 4stroke dirt bike. But on an 1190, it’s next level shit.
Just put a new rad in my 950SE. This weekend to the Ganaraska (where I broke the old one) for more rip and release. This video provides just the fire my loins crave. Here's to all foolish bastards on big Katoom V-twins who ride through everything the wee bikes think they own.
That bike is massive.
I aspire to be that badass and ballsy one day
Amazing machine and rider..I will have to stick to dirt roads with my GS, it will never make it up there lol
It was great fun to make.
Birchy for President 2016
I loved dirtbikes
