I fix an old motor bike and ride to the Arctic Circle 'The Warhorse' Honda XRV750 Africa Twin

- Three countries, 6000km, 12 epic days and one legendary motorcycle! I travel to Norway, buy an old Honda Africa Twin and prep it for the ultimate adventure ride to the Arctic Circle. It is one of the toughest but most rewarding motorcycle adventures I have ever done and so fulfilling to do it on my very own adventure bike!
Travelling solo, I'm carrying some compact camping gear, a few spares and tools, my camera equipment and a bit of food. The rest, as usual, I just make up as I go. Riding off-road tracks through the vast forests of Sweden to Norway's remote Nordic Tundra, this ride is truly a life-enhancing experience.
I see wild Moose, Reindeer, Mink and Grouse on this journey, so come with me to the top of the world on my 1992 Honda XRV750 Africa Twin, which I have aptly named The Warhorse!

Blown away by all the comments and show of support for my films, so thank you everyone.
This was a tough one as you can probably tell but I'm just grateful to be able to bring these productions to life and inspire people to ride.
The comments are coming in thick and fast, I do try and read them all so please know your connection with me is felt. To answer the number one question that seems to baffle people ...
Yes, I travelled alone on this project so 100% I did all the filming myself. I carry a small DSLR, drone and laptop/hard drives in my backpack. The drone shots are the most difficult and time consuming as it sometimes takes multiple attempts to keep the tracking locked on me, made all the more tricky adjusting the controller on the fly which is attached to my handlebars during the scenes.
If you watch to the end of the video, there is the option to become a member and watch 'Preparing The Warhorse' where I show my whole kit and set up for this production.
Thanks again for the support ...
Adam
the drone shots are so cool thx for that
Cheers Adam. How do I become a member? Really interested in the setup vid. Regards Nik

And here I am again watching this video. It was 8 months ago and I told my self "you gotta get driving license and get going". Today was the day I passed and got mine! Thank you dude for encouraging me to get onto my own adventure and see world that I didn't see before me. Keep up the good work!
I'm just dipping my toe in the bike world and I already want an adventure bike!. Going to stick to streets for now though to get a bit more seat time as I have no one to go with me on my adventures.
@@AecherJace You don't need to go with someone. Its your adventure your time as its ticking every single second, minute, hour, day, month, year. Make all that time worth it! Just Go and enjoy this life.
stay safe bro
Great stuff mate! How's the riding going? Hope you're loving it and clocking up some great miles!
I've been riding since I was a kid and now ride sportsbikes, more than 40 years later - currently a Ninja 1000. I still smile every time I get on the bike and can't wait to have another trip somewhere. Adam's videos are stirring something inside me to look at an adventure bike now... Anyway, keep safe and cheers from Sydney - Dave
mine is a similar story, 33 years old never had a car, always thought motorbikes were the coolest thing ever since i was a kid - bought a well loved drz400s and took it step by step, finally got my licence oct 3rd (and i had to do it all in Spanish, too, which didn't make it any easier HAHA) just put my first set of new tires on myself and went for a ride, the feeling of accomplishment even from doing something so small was pretty huge :) bikes all the way
@@pitchwife7573 Good one and congratulations. You should check out "A Twist of the Wrist" - it's a bit old now but there's some great riding advice in it. Something of a classic. Cheers from Sydney - Dave
Adam, I've traveled in 63 countries, 45 on a motorcycle and more to come soon. No passive income. Work, save, travel, repeat.
You're an inspiration to me. Your soothing voice and your story motivates me even further.
I've nothing but respect for you. We share the same feelings and it brings tears to my eyes.
I truly hope to meet you in person one day.
All the best brother.
Ωραίος.
Why tears? It should rather be a smile!
Bravo file...

Same Thought. ride safe
I've ridden 50 years and all over the world. Your movie is 5 star.🙂
Thank you for taking me along on your adventure, that was totally awesome.
Topgear needs 30 people to do a road trip with 3 blokes ;) you on the other hand are alone, self sufficient, bringing a beyond fantastic story, binding us viewer emotionally to you... Mate you are bring us truly something special. a special message, you are a special guy with a special talent and a special story. Fantastic! thank you for sharing this with us. cheers from the Netherlands!
so must see itchy boot chanel bro
No need to comment. You said it perfect!
30 people to film a road trip. Great. Feeds 30 families.
I have learned to appreciate both kind of formats.
Do you also watch Itchy Boots
Shade tree Surgeon is another great channel
"it's not an adventure unless you're pissing in the radiator". Pure gold 😂
I have never felt more free than being self-sufficient on a motorcycle tour. All the gear you need and no plan, just you and the road.
this is my 5 time watching this video and i dont know why i didnt get bored.
The first 2 minutes reminded me of February this year when I picked up my 14 year old Suzuki V-Strom 650, when she fired up I had that same smile on my face, I haven't touched my car since February..blessing here from South Africa
Norwegians are top blokes. Always solid and dependable in times of trouble. Must be the extreme weather and lack of people. They take human interaction very seriously. Love them to bits.
Vikings blood run in them ya..
"I am a motorcycle rider..." I am too, for over 45 years now. You have captured the essence of what riding is to me and others. It is sun and rain and being uncomfortable. It is sun and wind and the unknown. I leave next year for 2 years on my bike. I will hurt, I will suffer, I will risk. Thank you Adam. From a place deep inside me, I send you my deepest respect and admiration.
I agree.. he sure summed up what we have in common so well.. ✌🏼
I’ve got the same bike. My grandson will ride it when I die. Perhaps his grandson too.
That’s a tank on two wheels.
When the motor start to run and the dust on the windshield shakes off, that feeling. Man, it is awesome.
"Who really does have the luxury of time? We've Just got to take the opportunity we've got, and go for it" wise words by a wise man!
Your movies are absolutely sensational mate, and very powerful. Love your work.
Mate, this is a masterpiece! The views, the narratives and THE WARHORSE! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!
LOL- you are so easily duped...
@@NanaRides oh, I see you think of yourself as smart person. How does that work out for you?
@@NanaRides what do you even mean. just because you sit behind a computer screen all day doesnt mean the rest of us do. some of us want to experience the world!
This has to be one of the most memorable videos I've seen in a while on UA-cam. Thanks Adam for what you bring to us, lucky spectators to this amazing adventure.
This was simply amazing. I have ridden ~200km in pouring rain a few times, so the rain coupled with cold I can understand. It's very challenging and kudos to Adam for pushing through!!
This is a masterpiece, rooted in wisdom and capturing how humbling exposure to nature really is. No doubt this will inspire countless people to pursue adventures of their own.
I never watch these things twice. Yet, here I am. Just something about your storytelling that gets me as close to being there as yoiu can be. Thanks again Adam!
For example: Warhorse on a little ferry boat going across a wee bit of water. "And so the mighty Warhorse has been granted exclusive passage across the mighty Nordic River....." Ha! I know something's coming everytime you start with "And so..."
I have watched the whole warhorse story 4 or 5 times now .
Best thing I've seen in yrs .
Thanks Adam
One of the best youtube channels out there. Your films make me feel like I am in an adventure although I don't even own a motorcycle. Great stuff, great man.

Storytelling out of this world. Thank you for the inspiration 🫡
It is fascinating how when you say to people you want to ride a bike all they keep saying to you are negatives but rarely who says if it will bring you happiness do it, i am tiered of explaining to people that it is not an death sentence. This is what I will do one day no matter what people say to me. Rarely who thinks about riding like this, rarely who will imagien all the scenaries, rarely who will think about life on two wheels like this. This inspired me to go and get that licences as soon as I can what will be at the end of next year. Stay safe on road all of you riders!
Upadate:
I took summer job to buy myself a bike and start riding. Cant wait to come home and start riding
This is the 5th time i rewatch this video in 1 month, i feel so connected with Adam, feels like i've known him for decades...
Thank you Adam, Italy loves you!
I just wish there were 10000000sssssssssssssss of like buttons! Loved it MAN. Best lines "I am a motorcycle rider but without nature these experiences would be meaningless, because
whether you travel on foot by car or by bike, Exploring The Natural World Is The Greatest Gift Of Life"
This was a total random recommendation by UA-cam and it’s probably one of the very first (and few) that made me genuinely happy. What a story, what an emotional bond. I totally understand the passion and the link between man and machine. I tell you right now, this video really made me want to get a licence and get something of a small adventure bike and just… ride.
All the best to you, sir. Thanks for one of the best videos I’ve ever seen
Thats the prelude to the official Honda Africa Twin 750 announcement.......
You are right! "What little time we have". Thank you Adam for inspiring me again. Stay save.
i really hope Honda tries hard and makes a great new Africa Twin / Transalp like we know they can.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
I have never written a comment on UA-cam before. But this really got to me !
Amazing footage, story, emotions. True ADV rider.
Thank you
Masterpiece "i am exactly where i have chosen to be". i was listening to every beat, word and transition.
Wow, Adam what you're doing is an inspiration for all of us motocyclists! The riding skills, the technical competence, the videography. All the efforts of the past years are visible in this production. Congratulations for having the bravery to go your way and let us be spectators of it!
"Who really got the luxury of time!" that is a quote to remember 👏🏻 you got me laughing when you stand there, doing the fix on the bike with piss running down you arm 🤣👏🏻 What a legend. Welcome back to Norway anytime Adam 🇳🇴 This was absolutely beautiful to watch. Amaze me to see how much story you manage to tell with so little footage. I know you have been past some insanely beautiful spots. I guess less is more in most cases. Thank you 🎥
Exactly! Well said!
Were you riding with him for the Norwegian proportion of the journey?
@@XtremeCoke i wish, no… i think he did this alone 🎥🇳🇴

I started watching and before I knew it 30 minutes flew by. Simply the best motovlog I’ve seen. You’ve inspired me to get out there…regardless of what bike I have.
Like a Viking you have captured the artic circle with The Warhorse
Absolutely stunning
Love all the way from INDIA 🇮🇳
This film is medicine for my soul. !!! Simply great.
Soul medicine, I like that 👍
Cannot thank you enough for saving the warhorse from that barn and telling us the story.
This is epic. I'm just 11 minutes in...but the narration, promise of adventure, the hospitality of your countrymen. Just fantastic. Shame about the weather, but as you said "Who has the luxury of time?"
I was about 10 when my dad started to tell me about a certain queen of Africa. Been a dream ever since until June 2020. living the dream ever since. This vlog perhaps is the closest to the emotion that I could absolutely relate to. What a story teller you are. Keep inspiring 🤘
Sandeep my dad had an opportunity to get the legendary bmw fundero650 he once got it home I was about 10-11 years old was so over whelmed to see such a beast in front me that red glossy paint and then the bad news we don’t need this big bike 😭 and I was the most heartbroken kid in the world I remember dad taking me in those by lanes on that Bavarian beauty
What a true motorcycle adventure it is. I loved watching it. It is so satisfying to see this 30 year old Africa Twin doing it great.
I admire the way he did. This movie reminded me why I was deeply fscinated for motorcycle travel. Thank you.
What wonderful commentary, you do the motorcycle adventure community proud! Glad to have you as a brother living life in the full spirit of adventrure, keep up the good work and thanks for reawaking my true calling!!
I`ve had two of those Africa Twins, such a good bike, simple and solid as a hammer, yet such a fun machine that always gets the job done! Makes me kinda miss having one..
And the exhaust note is so refined ❤️
What an intro! I'm telling you Honda needs to get that on their promotional material. Filmed and edited like a movie 🎥
Again. This is why we subscribe - amazing storytelling , superb photography, a real and honest adventure. Thank you Adam, inspiring!
While exploring the western cape of south africa a mate coined the phrase. Difference between 4 wheels and 2 is like watching a movie vs being in it. Absolutely love your attitude and extraordinary footage. Ride safe

Your passion for motorcycles is truly inspirational.
I wish I could to meet you one day in person.
Absolute legend !!!
You’re right, without motorcycles, there would five times more murders and thee times more divorces, twice as many mumbling sickos in the street. Fortunately God created the motorcycle 🤣
Hello riding brother, it was great watching you suffer in the rain and cold as I did there this year!
I loved your footage, especially the drone footage ( which I don’t have ) and your story.
We rode a LOT of the same routs … Lower Norway TET, Sweden TET, Lapland, Norcap, Lofoten, Trolstein ect…I spent a month exploring there as it is my heritage and covered all of it, Noth to South, East to West. It was a cold wet summer in the land of tunnels and waterfalls but what an adventure Rosiluke ( 790 Adventure R ) and i had there in the North.
I sold my house at 50 years old and started my adventure June of 2021 and am still going. Life is good!
Thanks again Adam, love your content!
Most people Sell their House and move on a Boat. You Moved on a Bike?! That's a whole new level. Good on ya. Ride Far & Free!

Have only just ‘discovered’ you after deciding at 60 to give up track days and learn to ride off road. Your films are a true inspiration and I have to be honest, this one brought a tear to an old farts eye. Please keep ‘getting it done’

I did Southern Africa On my super missed Kawasaki KLE 500, moved to the UK and sadly had to get rid of her, nearly 7 years later after watching this, I have bought myself a 2004 Triumph Tiger 995i, and will start all my adventures again! This time with my Son!
You're and inspiration to many! Keep it up
Just found this in these depressing times when we all seek a little ray of sunlight you lifted my spirits .. the story the camerawork and the narration is so fantastic you had us all there with you. The rebirth of a forgotten machine the journey and the reminder to grab yourself 2 handfuls of life is awe inspiring and you should never stop making videos because we're all traveling with you.
This is pure poetry Adam, very inspiring. I just got home from a great advride in Poland a few hours ago. Washed the bike, ate and put up this video on my TV screen. Man, I enjoyed every minute of this. I had hoped that our weather gods could have ben more kind to You. Bet that the earlier owner of this bike is proud of Your adventures and the new life that the bike got. Hope You enjoyed the ride and what Scandinavia offered You. You are welcome back do not hesitate to meet up for a ☕️🤌 in the woods. I also hope to see You continue to ride on the Warhorse on either "itinary rides" or on yourown chosen trails. Thanks Adam!
I live in the UK, am a novice rider, but it is my dream to one day ride through Europe, making my way to Scandinavia, and up into the Arctic. Thanks for being more inspiration.
Amazing video, simply amazing! That cold engine start after so many years in a barn is a true compliment to the Japanese motorcycle engines reliability and engineering. Thanks for sharing such awesome episode! 👍👍
This is how i want to live my life. Exploring the world, meeting unique people along the way, experiencing everything i have time to experience. That is life.

I have been hesitating into going camping or finding motels and so, I think I'll go the pure way. Just yourself, the nature, the trails and the deep connection with the machine you ride. Thanks Adam for the inspiration!

My god what a hell of a story and excellent video. Being from Nordic decent and having a grandfather from the Lapland, I felt a connection. I was in awe of your tenacity to push forward even during days of rain and cold. Bloody good job mate. You touched my heart. Much respect.

Natural beauty, inspiration, a legit rider, and one of the best bikes ever built... Perfection.
Love the story telling and videography. Thank you for inspiring to go on an adventure with our bike and explore the world.
The last 3 minutes absolutely killed me! Great trip and ever greater storytelling. Loved every minute. Thank you!
Brilliant!! So well done! When you have an Africa Twin, or any bike for which you connect with at any age of bike or rider…..there’s a harmony that’s unexplainable and pure, yet you managed to film it.
Listen mate, I’m besides myself at the skills and determination you’ve display with your previous works but this one’s most excellent and more relatable, because it’s something we all have, a heart and a motorcycle. With that, the two create a soulful bliss. ✌🏽😃
Thank you Paulo

What an astonishing video. From the sparkles of dust in a rural barn, to the wet misty extreme north of the Arctic. What a great adventure on such a wonderful old bike. Thank for such a great story and for giving warhorse the life she deserves. I am looking forward to many more stories from you and warhorse. Well done.
To be honest I just fell in love with your Videos. It´s like an addiction. I had no goals in live, till now. Doing such a tour across some countries, purely enjoying nature has become my point one I want to do in live. There is so much inspiration and espacially so much spirit in this videos. It´s always a very very very good day, if there is a new video of yours.

Not many out there on YT that can create such inspiring, soulful, educational & real-world content such as this.
I found it truly fascinating.
Adventures such as these are a dream of mine. Been working towards it slowly, it’s taking more time than I want it to, but remaining hopeful that I can one day do similar, in the not-too-distanced future.
Can see this journey of yours, has physically and emotionally been a great learning experience for you, and it shows on-screen.
I hope to find similar enlightenment once I tackle my own adventures one day.
I’m sure this is the 1st of many such adventures and I wish you many happy safe miles ahead.
Am already very excited for your next such upload.
Thanks again for sharing this with us. It is very motivating to say the least.
And so glad you did it on an older bike, showing us that you don’t always need the latest best and most advanced equipment out there to be able to tackle something like this on.
Am looking at an older Honda Transalp 700 myself as I’m a smaller lighter rider, and smaller bikes are much more user-friendly to me. Currently have a Honda CRF300L that I got only 2 weeks ago, learning to improve my skills on that before I take on the world lol. Only been riding 6 months or so - had a G310GS before, but I sold that for the CRF as it was better suited to my needs.
Keep on riding, be safe and all the best on your future adventures!

Great video as always. Norway is such a nice country to ride in but personally i prefer Sunny weather for atleast a little time of the trip. :)
