Great, thanks. Your nice little turnaround has made it all the way across the Atlantic Ocean. Greetings and thanks once again - Michael (Stuttgart, Germany)
I've learned a number of turnarounds in E lately, but not this one which is really cool. I should have this down pretty quickly, your lesson is detailed and clear. Thank You!
Exactly what I was looking for, for a piece in the key of e I'm currently practicing that is rather simple and which I was looking to embellish a little. Just beginning with the blues... Great lesson, many thanks!
Thank the lord for teachers like you. You PLAY IT FIRST!! - it's soo frustrating watching many well meaning players giving free tutorials on UA-cam but they get into lick, turnaround etc without PLAYING IT FIRST, so you don't really know what you're supposed to be learning. There's been so many I've had to give up on for that reason, so THANKS for this :o) - Goodbar, West Yorkshire, UK
Thanks Mister Goodbar! Glad you liked the lesson. I'd be afraid of wasting your time if I didn't play it first. what if it was something you already knew how to play? thanks again for watching.
I'm still ignoring the JamPlay adds....I love all your clips and have incorporated so much of the Delta Blues stuff into my playing. I really like the pace of your delivery , it sort of puts just a bit of pressure on me to get it all down. Thanks, you have created some awesome moves, very original.
Try this! Go through the E blues progression, then, instead of repeating it, do this: E C#7 (fingered like a C7 but with an open, dissonant, top E) F#7, B7, and back to E.
+Mission to Mars - Rock & Blues Band Meeeee tooo! I'm in love with acoustic blues, especially the early pickers like Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy. Great stuff!
Chris P Bacon I'm sure you've made progress on this by now, but the best thing to do when you run into this problem is slow down. You have to give your hands a chance to catch up with your brain.
Hey, thanks for watching! I did a video that shows this turnaround in action with a 12 bar blues. I just dropped a link to that in the description to this video. hope this one helps. thanks for your comment. great suggestion.
Thanks! This is easy on the piano. I tried to translate to guitar and it was funny the contortions I went through. You made it easy for what to do now I gotta stay up all night practicing. You saved me a lot of time!
Nice lick, will work on it. The first couple bars sound very similar to the end tag Stefan Grossman uses on Struttin Rag. It also took me a while to get my head around and hopefully knowing that will make this come easier.
Up and down!! I've heard this but have never attempted it, you did a fantastic job teaching this , now I can pass it on to my students if you don't mind.
Thanks for all the great information. I had brain surgery about ten years ago and decided to pickup guitar to improve the brain damage to my memory. The therapy has helped tremendously! Unfortunately, I'm having terrible remembering songs, so I'm venturing into finger picking blues improvement. This way I can sort of make it up along the way having learned bits and pieces. I'm excited, having just found your channel. I tried to download the tab for this 'sweet' turnaround, but the link doesn't appear to work on my device. Will you please take a look and share the notes for this great little piece. Thank you👌🤘🙏
Thank you so much for this, just the lesson I needed this morning. I've never been a big blues player, but I do love that turn around. I just spent about 20 minutes on it and I got it down and I will never forget it
Great turnaround . Sometimes I use B7 up one fret with my index finger covering both the E and A strings and slide back down to B7. Sounds fab on my Tele or my Giannini acoustic.
You did an amzing job that exactly what i was looking for. Maybe u can do a video where you jam and basiclly show how to use all of these turnarounds in a jamming situation u know what i mean? Thank you again!
Nice walk down, like you said it takes about six hours too really get it right, but its cool man..The C9 is like Bf7 just have to use it. THANKS for the tip man.....
Ya ive seen variations of this it is sweet your right.... I think its a little more of a triplet feel in the ones ive heard tho...but ur right its one of my favs
Thanks for also providing the tab! This will help me with those funky Guess Who turnarounds in songs like "Coming Down Off the Money Bag." ...Then after that, just gotta learn how to pick the rest of it... That last partial chord is a full E. Any reason why you leave out the 4th and 5th string? I can hardly hear it if I do use them and when I do it just sounds fuller. Just personal preference or some kind of tradition?
+Anthony Edwards It just fit the vibe I was going for here. But, definitely use this as a springboard to make this your own. Sounds like you have and that's great!
3:40 Two lovely chords at the end of this great turnaround are C9 and B9
Thank you very much for this. That open A before the chords really makes it.
Great, thanks. Your nice little turnaround has made it all the way across the Atlantic Ocean. Greetings and thanks once again - Michael (Stuttgart, Germany)

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed. This is by far my favorite acoustic turn around. definitely took me a while to get it down, but so worth it.
I have heard this turnaround for years - didn't realize how easy it was - thanks so much for sharing this cool turnaround
Ben Beckendorf Glad you got it down. It's a fun one for sure.
Thank the lord for teachers like you. Very nice. Thanks for the FREE lesson. Don't understand some of the negativity out there. Hey, we're all just trying to learn.
I'm still ignoring the JamPlay adds....I love all your clips and have incorporated so much of the Delta Blues stuff into my playing. I really like the pace of your delivery , it sort of puts just a bit of pressure on me to get it all down. Thanks, you have created some awesome moves, very original.

Thanks! It's one of my favorite turnarounds. Glad you dig it too.

Great John, this is one of my favorites. Really glad you dig it.
Awesome, thanks. Still going strong after all these years.
thanks man, this will keep me busy for awhile learning this, good pace to this lesson, well produced
At first it was hard, then after a minute I got it. Thanks and please do more of this.
Once you get it, you'll never forget it! Much more blues picking on the channel. Thanks for the comment!!
Try this! Go through the E blues progression, then, instead of repeating it, do this:
E C#7 (fingered like a C7 but with an open, dissonant, top E) F#7, B7, and back to E.
Cool. Play it western swing style and it becomes a fun rag..
The heck with a tab. Man, I am lovin' these lessons thanks AA+++++
Great turnaround sounds brill, I mainly play my Acoustics now love blues more than anything!
+Mission to Mars - Rock & Blues Band Meeeee tooo! I'm in love with acoustic blues, especially the early pickers like Robert Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy. Great stuff!
Well done Sir. You provided everything here. Clever little turnaround.
Perfect lesson. Could not be better! Thank you for putting it up!
Love to see you enjoy your accomplishments. I'll work on it.
Thanks, it was labor of love getting this finger twister down back in the day. Good luck to you!
Having trouble changing to the C9 position. Brain says "Do it!" Hand says"Up yours". lol It's coming though.
+Chris P Bacon Ha! Classic battle!
Chris P
Chris P Bacon I'm sure you've made progress on this by now, but the best thing to do when you run into this problem is slow down. You have to give your hands a chance to catch up with your brain.
This is a huge help. Thanks for taking the time to share.
This is the best blues turnaround lick ever, thanks!
Thanks man , iv made it through the frustration and loved it when your brain just clicks it all together can't wipe the smile from my face
ha! great Mark Seevers Glad you stuck it out, this is a tricky one for the fingers, ear and brain! Good work!!
Hey, thanks for watching! I did a video that shows this turnaround in action with a 12 bar blues. I just dropped a link to that in the description to this video. hope this one helps. thanks for your comment. great suggestion.

That is great news, James Allen - it takes work, but once you get it down, the work is worth it!
Solid turnaround and well instructed.
Thank you
Great lick man. Thanks for showing it slow! I didn't have to pause and rewind 50 times to learn it.
Thanks! This is easy on the piano. I tried to translate to guitar and it was funny the contortions I went through. You made it easy for what to do now I gotta stay up all night practicing. You saved me a lot of time!

Thanks! and you're right about the E#9 to E9 move. works great in place of the C9 to B9 move!
that's a B7 slid up a fret and back to a B7 and you do play the bottom string
Up and down!! I've heard this but have never attempted it, you did a fantastic job teaching this , now I can pass it on to my students if you don't mind.
Thank you jerry snyder this is one of my favorite turnarounds. Please share this with your students!! I hope they dig it as much as I do.
Thanks, this is very nice. Pretty easy to learn, but very colorful little turnaround!!

Appreciate the lesson my friend. Cheers!
Nice job. Thanks for your lesson.
You did an amzing job that exactly what i was looking for. Maybe u can do a video where you jam and basiclly show how to use all of these turnarounds in a jamming situation u know what i mean? Thank you again!
The very last chord is a stripped down E7. from low to high here are the fret numbers 0XX1XX...the whole chord would look like this 020100.

The best channel the best video dude
Contrary motion....amazing technique for solo arrangements lol oops i already left a comment sorry , but it is just the same
That's a turnaround from Jimmy buffets "Gods Own Drunk" From Living and Dying in 3/4 time bro. My fav. cassett.
Beautiful.. thanks..
Well done, thank you!
Fingering for this turnaround (up & down) is way too contortionist --is there an easier method ?
This is legit the start to "Youve got a friend in me" from Toy Story 😂
Cool lesson,what guitar is that?
Really nice. Thanks
Love it! Thanks!
Call the notes too, chords name, thanks
thankyou, brilliant turnaround
Glad you liked it!

Erm, sorry for the random question but, really like your tone, wich brand and gauge r u using there? its better phosphore or bronze only?
+Diego Maya I use D'Addario phosphor bronze, light gauge. EJ16s they work well on my Larrivee's. Thanks for checking out the Channel!
