I've noticed a huge difference in my playing and in my ability to play for longer periods of time simply by raising my stool. It helps posture and allows me to attack the drums easier with out having to reach to far.
I hung one of those cheap door mirrors on the wall next to my set up specifically to check posture while playing. I was surprised at how much effort it takes to really square off your shoulders and keep your back straight when playing.
This could also lead into the type of grip one uses. Traditional grip promotes the dipping of the shoulder. Buddy Rich did suffer back issues because of this. When I switched to matched grip I noticed how much I did this prior to switching.
Interesting point! Never thought of that before, but I could see how the long term asymmetrical approach could cause some imbalances. Buddy’s back was... not great. Lol
Couldn't have said it better hombre. In the long run you will have to pay a price. Throne height and distance from your pedals/snare play a critical factor if you plan on drumming for the long haul. Much love n respect! ✊💀🔥😈
I just went and looked at some old pictures. My posture hasn't been too bad, but did notice the t-shirt gets more sweaty as the night goes on (2 and a half hour sets) the posture deteriorates a bit 😂 think I need to raise all my drums a couple of inches
Так конечно, если сидя за инструментом не будет нужного баланса в теле, то играть будет тяжело! Все мышцы быстро устанут и будет тяжело отыграть концерт! Осанка очень важна при игре на барабанах!

I always feel like I’m sitting up straight, but when I watch myself play I’m straight up Quasimodo....

Waaaw... Good info 🙏
Posture on the drum is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo underrated. Drummer should take more time on that alone.
That superman stretch is one of the worst you can do for your back because of the compression on the spine.
That is 100% incorrect.
Useful info! Thanks for everything, man
Look at any picture of Phil Collins sitting behind his kit...dude can't play anymore because of it.
....also buddy rich......
