ESBC - Esports Boxing Club Fighter Ratings Project - Heavyweights (Version 1)

- These are preliminary ratings developed for the upcoming eSports Boxing Club game, based on formulas I have created incorporating compubox and boxrec fighter data as well as ratings from the classic Title Bout Championship Boxing game!
This batch includes 25 heavyweights with a brief discussion of each as well some details on the ratings process. I released a really detailed video on the ratings process about a month ago for those who want to go that deep, though it has evolved and improved since then. I touch on many of the changes throughout this video.
Please understand these are PRELIMINARY ratings! The game isn't out yet, can't be playtested and they've offered up nothing in the way of strategies, styles, tendencies, etc., which obviously are essential to make fighters perform accurately. So think of this as laying the foundation rather than a final version of all these fighters.
Constructive criticism is always welcome and trolls are ignored.
If you don't want to watch the whole hourlong video, fighters are alphabetical so you can scroll to a particular guy if you're looking for him. They'll also all be posted on my site by the end of the day.

I was just a little curious about this game, and what the ratings could look like, never did I think I would sit down and watch an hour long video, but this video is freaking great also very informative, taught me a little bit about a lot of fighters I didn’t even know existed definitely leaving a like and subscribing
Thank you for this! Unfortunately, I stopped doing these videos once it became clear there wasn't really going to be much nuance to fighter creation as far as many of the things I mentioned: workrate, jab frequency, etc. The game is really being designed as player vs player for online, which isn't something I'm too interested in.
I may jump back into it eventually, but there are other projects I'm doing that interest me more at this point.

Great job on your ratings! I personally have Larry Holmes as my 2nd highest rated heavy, but hey, everyone has their opinions. Larry's Jab was fast and devastating as he would do major damage with that jab, scoring several knockdowns with his jab and even a knockout or two if I remember correctly. Keep up the great work!
Awesome content. One thing I am happy ESBC will have, assuming their released information is true, is a separate rating for foot speed and hand speed. For some reason, Fight Night Champion did not have a foot speed rating. FNR4 did though.
Regarding modern fighters being faster, stronger, etc., there are always exceptions. Rocky Marciano' punch was recorded to have 925 pounds of force whereas Frank Bruno was recorded at 920. Frank Bruno fought in the 80s and 90s, and was 60 pounds heavier than Marciano. On top of that, Marciano's punch output was more than modern boxers too. So, what does someone do with that.
Thanks for watching! Absolutely true about FNC...their combined stats were so silly. That punch power and block power were the same figure was one of the dumbest ratings decisions I've ever seen in a video game.
Exactly. I could not even accurately create a fighter like Andy Ruiz because of the disparity between his hand and foot speed rating.

I would say a heavyweight who had a 100 punch along with Big George would be Earnie Shavers! Many think he was the hardest puncher in history.
