Fun episode! My first arena show was an “Evening with Metallica” which was just them, a few months after this album was released. I remember unwrapping this album with my buddies at the park and being like WTF! Lol Little did they know that I would ride my bike at night, in all my teenage angst, listening to this night after night. Keep it up Jacob, I love your content!
@@JacobGivens I remember the first time I heard Metallica Blackened. Where exactly I was. Who was with me. Time of day. Funny how music makes these impressions that are life lasting. Like I haven't heard White Zombie La Sextrocisto in a decade but could sing ever word of I am a Legend.
The Black Album Got me into Metallica. Especially Enter Sandman. I was 13. And then about 5 years later I stopped admitting that. Soo many people who were my age and were Metal Heads would also lie to themselves and say Metallica were "Sellouts". The album is Not a real metal album. Hell I even had a friend tell me "Well I haven't been to a Metallica Concert Since Cliff Died" and I would say "YOU MEAN WHEN YOU WERE EIGHT?!!" Those who called Metallica Fans who got into Metallica due to the Black Album posers (I was guilty of it) were posers themselves😅. I absolutely love the Black Album. Always have (Even when I was too "Tough" to admit it)
I was in junior high when the black album came out and it was my gateway into metal and heavier music. I apologize to all the “real” metal heads that I wasn’t as cool as them at 12 years old.
Just trying to explain the black album to somebody and how much it changed music I don't know if they can understand if they weren't there when it first released

I love how dead on you are with your videos. You encapsulate the rock/metal scene in the 90's perfectly. I can relate to so many of your videos.
I really appreciate this so much. Thank you!!!
