I came here directly from a Facebook group where someone had made your cardigan and everyone went absolutely crazy over it, including myself. This tutorial was beautifully done, thank you for sharing it with us!
My daughter and I are crocheting our own sweaters to wear to go see the movie when it’s out in a week or so! So excited. Thank you for sharing this pattern with us! I’ve been hooking for 32 years. She just started a few months ago.
Firstly, how dare you make me do math.... Secondly, this is a beautiful tutorial genuinely one of the best I've seen in the year I've been crocheting. I hope I can whip this up in a few days before the new movie comes out 😅 I knew I would find the perfect project for the neon green yarn I bought on a whim.
ahhhhh I remember seeing you on tiktok like last feb maybe with this cardigan and I'd wanted it so bad. After five hours I'm half way done and can't wait to finish. I'm excited to wear it in a month to see beetlejuice! you deserve all the love and support for sharing this pattern and making a tutorial so easy to follow and concise, down to the measurement portions.
This is a lovely video! Hoping to give it a try, but I think I’ll swap out the black/white for pink/blue and make the trim white for a subtle trans flag look. I adore the color scheme you went with, though!! Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together.
I struggled with that at first, too! If you are still having issues, theres another method that helped me. Just find a garment you already own & love the fit of, take its measurements, and replicate those 😊💚🤍🖤
SLST BLO 😅😅😅 “I would prefer not to have that many SL STS in my life” 😂😂😂 it’s a love hate relationship lol I love the look it creates. I also started a fitted top using this same stitching. 🤪🤪🤪 send good vibes. lol
Lmao! I get it 😆 The beauty of crochet is the ability to customize! I've had some people use ribbed SC trim, FP/BP DC as a border, or just SC rows. Be sure to tag me if you post on social media, I'd love to see! 🖤🤍💚
🥹 I've been working on this for a week but I'm an odd shape (large chest but small shoulder width) and I've hit a road spike, I need to work out how to add more stripes under the sleeves to the side... Wish me luck everyone! I'm still relatively new to crochet 😬
I'd try adding the extra stripes to the side edge of the front or back panel. Just make sure your arm openings will fit the sleeves 😊 You can also add shorter stripes to either side of the front panel on the front of the sweater, then add the trim if that makes sense. That would widen the front panel and not the sleeves. Good luck 🤍💚💜🖤
I love this cardigan. Anything with neon green is awesome. Has anyone tried this with cotton yarn or maybe bamboo? Will it drape correctly? I have extremely sensitive skin and acrylic or animal fibers make me so itchy. Also that sandworm hat is fabulous. Is there a pattern for that?
The pattern will work with any yarn. You can do a gauge swatch to check your gauge against mine. The gauge swatch is used as a pocket later, so it totally gets used. Most people say Bamboo yarn has better drape than acrylic, so that shouldn't be an issue. The hat is the Slouchy Witch Hat by the.entangled.fae with a sandworm I freehanded on top
If anyone is confused there is five rows per stripe. She just explains it as making the foundation chain then the one on top of it is the first official row.
🫠😩 You are completely correct and I’m now making my ribbed portion between the two panels and I kept looking at it thinking dang this is quite small so I opted to add a 12 stitch chain along the bottom and a 10 stitch chain along the two panels 🤦🏻♀️ It’s too late to restart but maybe I can recreate next year! Hahahahha
@@gracefacecreatesoh thank goodness!! I just wanted my bottom ridging a bit longer and I’m loving it!! I’m just about to finish the cuffs so I can rock it tomorrow!! 💜💚 Thank you for the free tutorial!
currently finished the body panel! how am i supposed to sew the body panel together if my front is 27 inches and my back is 23 inches? im so confused with this 😭 thank u!!
really glad i found this pattern because i was going to buy a btljuice cardigan from DANGERFIELD but their entire "sandworm" collection has vanished so i'm pretty sure they got a cease and desist from the btljuice ppl
I've been working on making this for a few weeks now. I just finished the collar trim section. Since its so large I was working on it with it being kind of all in a pile and didn't realize until the end that I had "ruffles". Do you have any idea what I might've done wrong? I did the bottom trim just fine and did the collar trim the same way so I'm not sure what I might've done. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
It sounds like there might be too many stitches around the collar. It's hard to say for sure without seeing it. In general, ruffling comes when there are extra stitches in an area. Is it possible that you SLST to the same stitch when connecting the ribbing to the sweater at the end of each row? Sometimes, it is hard to tell what ST you are on. If you SLST to a ST that already housed a SLST, it would create an "extra" row (if that makes sense). You can send me some pictures on IG or email if you'd like, and I can try to help troubleshoot further
Thank you! The base hat is the Slouchy Witch Hat by the.entangled.fae and the Sandworm was freehanded by me and added onto the hat. I do have a video on Tiktok going over what I did for the sandworm. It's in the Showtime Cardigan playlist
This is what I’m attempting to do! Just finished the body panel. Going to start the arms tonight. Kinda nervous since I don’t do a lot of ‘free handing’ in crochet lol 😅
Did you do the gauge swatch? That might help you to make sure you are making the correct length/width. The gauge swatch is used as a pocket, so I recommend making it before attempting the full sweater
Not that I am aware of. However, the construction method would be the same. As long as your gauge is close to mine, the sweater should turn out just fine 💚
The SC row gives the ribbing a consistent anchor point on the sweater since we are attaching it to the edge of rows. You technically can make it without the SC row, but it can result in a lumpy & uneven border along the bottom of your sweater. I think the small investment of time in making the SC border round is worth it to ensure your finished product looks as good as possible

I really want to make this!! I love how you described how to measure yourself! That is the one thing that is stopping me from trying clothing

Saving this video but going to purchase the pdf as soon as i finish my mom's cardigan
Thanks for your support 🤍🖤💚
Your voice is so soothing 😊
Thank you ❤️
this is soooo coooooool !it seems at the same time very easy and quite complicated ! I have to give it a try for sure !
Love this! Thank you! 👻🪲this is perfect!
Just got done with the body panel! 🎉 I’m going to attempt to do the stripes for the arms horizontally like Beetlejuice’s jacket… wish me luck 😅😅😅
I've seen a few other do horizontal stripes on the sleeves. I believe in you!

Remind me to do this before the second movie comes out 🙏
The 2nd movie comes out in a week and a half 😬😅
@@gracefacecreatesgood thing that i started crocheting this the day before it releases 🥲 Gonna try and hurry this though!

Each stripe only has 4 rows. The initial starting chain for your project does not count as a row in crochet

Thank you for this great Tutorial
Can't wait to try this!!
Oh my heavens it’s a must 😮❤🎉
currently finished the body panel! how am i supposed to sew the body panel together if my front is 27 inches and my back is 23 inches? im so confused with this 😭 thank u!!
If you match the bottom edges up, you should be able to sew it together along the seam
I hope I can finish this before beetle juice 2 🤞
really glad i found this pattern because i was going to buy a btljuice cardigan from DANGERFIELD but their entire "sandworm" collection has vanished so i'm pretty sure they got a cease and desist from the btljuice ppl
I'm sure they did 😅 WB has been on an Etsy rampage

I don't need to start another project lol!
I will need 17 stripes for mine. When I subtract 5 for the back panel, it equals 12. So I’ll have 6stripes on each side of the front panel right?
Yes! You've got it right 😊
Hello there. I absolutely love this! Do you have a tutorial for the Hat or just the Snake? I'm new to your page, but I am totally addicted so far!
Thank you! The base hat is the Slouchy Witch Hat by the.entangled.fae and the Sandworm was freehanded by me and added onto the hat. I do have a video on Tiktok going over what I did for the sandworm. It's in the Showtime Cardigan playlist
Can we do the sleeves with horizontal stripes perhaps?
It's your sweater, so you get to make it however you like 💚🤍🖤
This is what I’m attempting to do! Just finished the body panel. Going to start the arms tonight. Kinda nervous since I don’t do a lot of ‘free handing’ in crochet lol 😅
This is an awesome tutorial! I would love to make it but big twist classic looks discontinued, do you have another yarn you suggest?
I'm one of those people who has to feel a yarn & I liked the soft feel of these, but any worsted weight yarn you enjoy should work similarly
How do I keep starting at 48” for my body panel and by the end of row two I’m at 54”?!?! Meh!😫
Did you do the gauge swatch? That might help you to make sure you are making the correct length/width. The gauge swatch is used as a pocket, so I recommend making it before attempting the full sweater
I LOVE ITT
Im going to sew the middle to make it a sweater and not add the border so that i. Can make a beetle juice costume thank you!
You might want to add extra stripes to the front panels if you're doing that. Otherwise, the front won't be wide enough 💚
@@gracefacecreates thanks
How long did it take you to finish it?
At least 25 hrs
@@gracefacecreates subtítulos en español porfavor 🥹❤️🩹
Approximately how many yards did you use for your sweater? Thank you for this pattern! I’m so excited to get started.
The yardage I used is listed in the video description 😊💚🤍🖤 Your yardage may vary based on your measurements
Has anyone made this cardi using tunisian crochet?
Not that I am aware of. However, the construction method would be the same. As long as your gauge is close to mine, the sweater should turn out just fine 💚
Hi love the tutorial❤,
one question do have to make the Sc crochet row before the Ribbing or can i make it without it?
The SC row gives the ribbing a consistent anchor point on the sweater since we are attaching it to the edge of rows. You technically can make it without the SC row, but it can result in a lumpy & uneven border along the bottom of your sweater.
