Finally purchased a Nikon 35Ti, largely as a result of this video. I am very happy with it, and it is in my briefcase everyday now. Thank you for the excellent and enthusiastic review!
I had no idea how much I would love shooting point and shoot. Until a month ago I found my moms old Olympus zoom in a storage box. Loaded it with film and a new battery and took my granddaughter cloths shopping. The images were so sharp so good it just blew me away. We walked the streets in Seattle shop to shop and I had so much fun with this small easy to shoot camera. Now I want this 35 Ti because it gives a little more control and has such a sharp lens from what I see. Plus it is such beautiful design. As a companion to my Hasselblad 503 CW this would make my dream kit.
It really is a work of art but as you've noticed, there are some amazing lesser known point and shoots as well and Olympus had a strong hand in the game.
I've been binge watching your videos since I discovered your channel a month ago. You along with other small (but in reality 1.6k+ subscribers is a lot of people) photography content creators have really inspired me to just shoot with what I have and not just aim to get the newest flashiest cameras. Dug up our old Olympus LT-1 family camera. And I am now looking to buy an Olympus XZ-1 as a carry anywhere camera. Please keep doing these informative videos that share the experiences and love of photography.🍀✨
That is so heartwarming and wonderful to hear Jose. Definitely the thrill and joy and intent behind this channel. Photography should be accessible and it's shocking how many capable tools there that have very low financial barriers to entry. As someone who has been fortunate enough to have shot so many of the best modern cameras through work, I find so much more joy in the limitations and simplicity of early digital or offbeat film cameras. And the LT-1 is such a cool looking camera, though I've never shot it myself. Enjoy!!
The main advantage to the cropped panorama mode back in the day was that photofinishers would automatically spit out a 4x10" print of those images. The printing machines used rolls of paper, so a 4" paper roll would be able to produce 4x5", 4x6", and 4x10" without having to switch rolls. While you'd pay more for a 5x7" or 8x10/12", you'd usually get 4x10" panoramas for free, or only a slight upcharge, over the basic 4x6" developing and printing cost.
Finally, another upload! Another camera is going up in price then😂. Speaking of Ken Rockwell, you should see his review on the Olympus 35 SP. That single comment about it being "poor man Leica" with actual Leica glass quality (Zuiko Lens) blew me away. I got it a couple months ago, and I have to say the picture it produced came out beautiful! Like some people here, I've been binging your videos for weeks. The first video I stumbled upon was the XZ-1 because I was trying to find a digital alternative to the increasing film price in my area. In the end, I was "poisoned" by your recommendation and ended up getting one for 75$, which is a good deal, id says. It's not in mint condition, and the lens got a little fungus on it, but it is a great compact camera for daily stuff! Would love to get "poisoned" more by your vids, keep it up 😆😆😆!
@@OneMonthTwoCameras I have some slide examples from shooting mid-day at a white sand beach with a backlit subject in front of the sun/reflected water and the metering nailed it. I know you shot the Fuji s5, but there are some good ccd Nikon dslrs from their early ranges.
@@ledheavy26 that’s amazing about the slide film. I would love your recommendation on any Nikon CCD cameras. I have the D 40 and D 100 which I have not yet shot extensively but Nikon is a little bit out of my wheelhouse so always looking for suggestions if you have them!
@@OneMonthTwoCameras I still use my D70s I bought new in 2006. I love the 1/8000th shutter speed, it's high flash sync speed with wireless flash control, and it can use my older af-d lenses I use on my af 35mm cams. It might be a redundant recommendation if you have the D100 and D40, I would assume image quality wise that the D70s and D40 are on par with each other. It would probably come down to your personal preference for how the camera operates and feels in your hands (the D70s probably handles more like the D100). The only other ccd Nikon DSLR you can really consider would probably be the D200. You have experience with that body in the Fuji s5 but the sensor is different, some say the best. I've been meaning to pick one up. I'd say the best part about Nikon is the lens catalog but you just have to make sure which lenses are compatible (metering mainly) on some of the dslr cameras (I know the D40 is more limited than the D70s/D100).
About two years ago, I was handed down this camera when my FIL passed away and while I keep it as a keepsake, I sort of passed it off as another point and shoot. At the time, I was shooting a Canon AE-1, Nikon F, F3, basically SLR that gave me a lot of control over my images (I'm coming over from digital.. well film, and then digital, and now back to film) and I remembered looking through eBay to see what the current price was for it. A year ago, it ran for around $400-500 mint from Japan. I just checked today and you can find it as high as $1000, wow! I think I ran 2-3 rolls through it and while impressed with the sharpness, I found that out of each roll, I was getting about 3-4 images where the autofocus missed. Maybe I was still too used to the autofocus speeds of my Sony a7iii a7c, etc and just fired off before the autofocus could find focus, but I should give this camera another shot...
Ah, if you like this camera you'll love the Contax G1 and G2. I have the G1 and the three lenses that was available for it. Designed and manufactured to the high-end lux aesthetic. Titanium body. Zeiss optics. Super-quirky autofocused mechanical rangefinder. They tried for a M6 but with AF. Contax wasn't successful getting there, but the resulting camera is definitely interesting. The Zeiss lenses are fantabulous. Pick up the 45mm f2 Planar if nothing else. Hmmm... Prices hasn't gone up much it seems. I bought the body for about $300 ten years ago. Looks to be still about the same.
I just found a Nikon 35Ti at an estate sale for $10! It was priced at $40 but was 75% off. I’m new to film cameras, so when I looked it up I was shocked to see what its going for on ebay. I can’t believe what I’ve stumbled upon! Thank you for sharing about it!
Great video! I just got a 35ti to shoot! I can't believe the needle dials on the top! If Nikon doesn't plan to make a FX Zfc I'll have to buy a new DF.

There are very few cameras that I go, wow, that's totally worth the money it costs. Usually, I find that I use these "expensive" camera's and then find a cheaper alternative that I like better...but from your images the 35Ti is worth every penny. People talk about BS stuff like "3D pop", but dammit, this little camera's rendering is just shockingly good, and not just for a P&S. And I said this before, but this camera seems to work super well with how you like to shoot and these images are some of my favorite you've shared since you started this channel.
@@OneMonthTwoCameras 🙂Actually I (did) shoot many brand/cameras but somehow never really into Nikon dslr's for buying. But a few years ago I ended up with a marvel of a camera, a Nikon Coolpix A, APS-C compact. I like this better as my Fuji X100F(but other strengths). Fill-in flash with the Coolpix A is just always spot on and high quality files. More recent I got myself a V1 set + 4 lenses for €135,00. Like that minimalistic design.

Thank you! I miss my days of scanning and hopefully I'll have time again soon but in the meanwhile, I get them processed and scanned at 35mm Pro in Los Angeles.
Mine is having an issue with the shutter, it simply can't fire! I ask for help from a repairing shop but the man told me that the problem rests with the wire on the PCB, it's hard to repair as there were no spare parts, so my 35 Ti now only serves as a display item! Anyone knows that there were such kind of shop that can fix it up please let me know!
Hi good video. I'm looking for a digital camera that can get closer to a silver rendering with this grain effect and some defect in the image. (the goal, to have a camera with silver rendering without having to buy film and a development shot). obviously the rendering will never be the same because the optics and the films come into play. But if you know of a device with fairly pastel color rendering and some defects in the image with grain, I would be delighted. on your channel I could see the olympus c-740 which looks good? Thank you again and I really like the concept of your channel. the draw at the end is always fun. good job :) ( sorry for the Google trad )
I really love all the old Olympus cameras for this sort of effect. I would also recommend some of the early Olympus dSLRs. I'll be posting a review of my favorite one this week if you want to take a look at what it can produce.
Could you please stop reviewing dream cameras that I'll never be able to purchase? 🤣🤣🤣 Great review!! I'm just kidding keep em coming. Love your videos. Also, i believe the T mode is Shutter speed priority, you should be able to set a shutter speed when selected. I could be mistaken, but that would be my guess. Cheers!
Ha! I hear you. This camera was gifted to me so I feel stupidly fortunate. The T mode does in fact stand for time but in the Bulb sense rather than shutter priority. I know someone who shot a whole roll thinking it was shutter priority and boy was he bummed when he got the roll back :P
@@OneMonthTwoCameras that happened to me with an iPod. I started collecting iPods and a friend had two that he just gave me, a 2nd generation and a 4th generation U2 both in great condition which is quite rare!! About the T: can't you set the shutter with the dial?
We had a point and shoot, probably made in the 40s , was literally a cardboard box with a lens. 120 film and thankfully have pictures from that camera. Everyone referred to their camera as a Kodak. All thanks to my mom.
I bought one of these cameras awhile back, but it never arrived. Either it was never sent or it was lost in the mail. However, Etsy refunded me what I paid for the camera as neither myself or Etsy could get in contact with the seller. Seems they may have been dodgy. To say I was disappointed was an understatement because I was looking forward to having a 35Ti. I'd still like to get one, but I'll be far more careful, next time.
I love the look of the colours on these images. I’m so impressed with how the metering and AF performs. Also love the “not a church camera” description. Suggestions for cameras… Keeping with the point and shoot vibe here - a film Ricoh GR. I don’t see many videos on it. Also do you have a first version GR Digital?
I dream of trying the Ricoh GR film camera. I feel like that would definitely be the superior street camera and I just love the form factor. Hope to stumble across one someday. I'm also keen on the first GR Digital based on reviews I've seen and read. Appreciate the thoughts and will keep an eye out for those to review!
@@OneMonthTwoCameras I managed to pick up the original GRD a few months ago and it’s….. interesting. For a very old camera it outperforms its specs in the imaging department BUT there are some common firmware issues that cause the camera to lock up. You basically have to configure it and shoot in full auto mode. So there’s a little bit of a love/hate thing going on there between it and I. Such a shame as I was amazed how tiny it is - very similar to the Pentax Q
Is the Canon 450D one of the cameras you’re potentially going to review? That was my first photography camera, so that’s why I wanna see it reviewed :P

This camera looks amazing, I wanted one until I checked the price
after reading all the reviews.....I shall keep the camera. haven't really put it to use, and i should be ashamed of myself! Films are so expensive these days.
Not gonna lie... I've always thought this camera was "delicious" looking like you say (I'm a sucker for analog meters and dials), but I honestly *hate* this camera overall. Mostly just because it was overpriced "chic" when introduced and it's value just keeps going up. The *Ricoh GR1s* (and others in that line) are much better shooters (to me) for 1/3 the price... And like you know, *any* of them can become a paper weight (the Nikon or Ricoh or Contax, all of the same super-compact electronic type) at any moment for any reason. :D But yeah... it's purdy. I've shot one but have never owned one - its features are great and that's good to know for many about the accuracy of its AF (I had a Contax T2 for several years and, aside from the nutso price they're going for, I mostly sold it because I hated its AF - back-focused like a bastard all the time!).. But I found the Nikon's handling super weird and fiddly in use... and difficult to comfortably hold. I dunno. I'd rather have the Ricoh. :) Or even the Konica C35 honestly. But I certainly get the Ti's appeal! Really great vid!
@@OneMonthTwoCameras Between love your channel. You have a great personality and that’s what people connect to. Great Audrey Hepburn meets Meryl Streep vibes :)
This, Contax T2, Yashica T4 are wickedly overpriced and prone to breaking down. I would never buy one of these as I don’t want an expensive brick. There are much better options for your money.

Fill-in flash with the Coolpix A is just always spot on and high quality files. More recent I got myself a V1 set + 4 lenses for €135,00. Like that minimalistic design.
@@WACONimages that is awesome! I had the coolpix a; great camera. And I have a V1 in the mail!
Lovely review! Great shots too
Thank you so much!!
“This is not a church camera” that needs to be on shirt 😂
:P
Suggested cameras: Lubitel 166 (any model) 6x6 and/or an Olympus Trip. Neither should be expensive which saves money for developing. Have a good day.
Thank you! I’ve always wanted to try a Lubitel…..
This is one of my dream point and shoots. And I know Ken Rockwell's nuts, but I do find his old articles entertaining 😊
The photos at the beginning of this video are so captivating to me. I've just watched several of your other videos as well, and I think I want to try out film photography. Are there any budget-friendly camera/lens combinations you can recommend? Also do you have any resources to help me learn more about aspects of film photography? Thanks!
Sam this is the loveliest comment and I am thrilled this got you interested in trying film photography! I would recommend you swoop this camera if you want a budget friendly entry into the game. www.ebay.com/itm/284747296551?hash=item424c42ef27:g:kAEAAOSw-ZtiTFZF
As for resources, I cannot recommend Pushing Film or Matt Day's channel enough. They've been around for ages and have a wealth of videos and knowledge.

Let me know how it goes!!
@@OneMonthTwoCameras I appreciate the response! I'll definitely check out that ebay link later. Thanks for the resources! I look forward to your upcoming videos :)
Great video as always and what a dream camera. Always thought those were really killer.
What are you using to scan your film? Lab, or doing it yourself? Looks great.
Thank you! I miss my days of scanning and hopefully I'll have time again soon but in the meanwhile, I get them processed and scanned at 35mm Pro in Los Angeles.
I’m hoping to get my hands on one great video!
Best of luck!
Love my 35Ti. Slide is not an issue at all. For BW reversal (Orwo process) I prefer the R8. But that's not compact any more. Great video!
Good to hear! Thank you.
Always a wonderful video! Thank you so much!
Thank you!! Great to see you here!
I got one for you that I've yet to see on YT. "Nikon E2N FUJIX" it's a big boy 😅
Could you cover the Olympus Camedia 2040?
Just bought one!
After watching this review.. subscribed!
Welcome aboard!
Could you please stop reviewing dream cameras that I'll never be able to purchase? 🤣🤣🤣
Great review!!
Ok just checked the manual and it's indeed a Bulb mode... Sorry.
I honestly don't use mine anymore, I have so many cameras that it often get pushed aside so thinking about selling it
If you don't use it, selling is great so that someone else hopefully will. That said, it's nice looking on a shelf too :)
I want one so bad but just can’t justify the price for a film camera. I got the Nikon L35AF 2.
The L35AF is a beast! You can't go wrong with that one.
do you have a nikon d50 ?
incredible colors :) - film look! .... (after some seconds:) .... ooops, it's a film camera!
😂
Oh man, sorry to hear that. Better luck next time I hope!
I still go to Ken Rockwell’s website when I look up gear 🤣
Haha! It's a great resource honestly. Love revisiting those old write ups.
Me too, very decent resource on Leica M lenses.
@@paulanderson24 great insight. Thank for sharing.
Is the Canon 450D one of the cameras you’re potentially going to review? That was my first photography camera, so that’s why I wanna see it reviewed :P
Ooo I don't have that one but will look into it!
@@OneMonthTwoCameras No need to put it “in the hat” (that you draw from) on my account, but if you add it independently of my question, and then draw the name from the hat, I’ll be super interested in seeing the review! :D
(I know that these comments alone might influence you to maybe add this camera to your pool of potential cameras. I genuinely don’t want you to spend money on my account though, is my point.)
@@just_eirik I like to use the comments to search what comes up in Goodwill or eBay. If I find it for a steal I will definitely add it to the collection!
@@OneMonthTwoCameras Cool! Love these reviews btw. :)
@@just_eirik Thank you thank you!
Great review...
TY
Can you review Nikon 28ti?
I don’t think there would be anything different to say about it other than that it has a 28mm focal length.
There is no Ny-Khan.
Its pronounced as
NEE-CON (as in corn without the r)
This is true. In Japan :)
Omg now I'm researching old cameras again. I never knew Kodak made a digital Nikon F3 🤯
Jesus 😳🤯 these things cost $20k and $25k in early 90s money.
Nice content!
Thank you!
It is truly a work of art, but I'll bet you paid a good amount for this art. I've always wanted one, but the prices went crazy, in my opinion.
The prices are hard to justify indeed.
Beautiful superb camera ^^ (the price is beyond mortals tho) may I suggest the humble Konica C-35 EF3 or the Nikon L35AF2 for us peasants :-)
Absolutely! I have my eyes out for the Nikon L35AF - nearly just bought one. I have a cheap Konica rangefinder (35 Automatic) which I love and have reviewed on the channel.
This camera looks amazing, I wanted one until I checked the price
The price definitely hurts but man, it's a beauty.
after reading all the reviews.....I shall keep the camera. haven't really put it to use, and i should be ashamed of myself! Films are so expensive these days.
Youre making me nervous holding those expensive cameras with 3 fingers 😆
Hahaha!
Thank you!
Great
Greatest camera ever made.
Well can’t disagree with Ken Rockwell can we.
Certainly not :)
@@OneMonthTwoCameras Between love your channel. You have a great personality and that’s what people connect to. Great Audrey Hepburn meets Meryl Streep vibes :)
@@neeravnaik Ha! Thank you. That is literally the best compliment I have ever received!
I Regret soo much selling my 28Ti! :(
TEARS. The 28 would be my dream. I find myself going wider and wider these days.
Я был очень удивлен, увидеть в обзоре фотоаппарата, снимки в поддержку Украины! Это очень радует! Слава Украине! 3:14
This, Contax T2, Yashica T4 are wickedly overpriced and prone to breaking down. I would never buy one of these as I don’t want an expensive brick. There are much better options for your money.
I love the pacman secure lock thingie :D so delicious haha!
Same as E-1 and S5 Pro and many other cameras ;-)
