Jake is a Sicario....
The fact that Khonshu said "i will release you both" and then they revealed to us that Khonshu knew about Jake's existence in the mid credit scene. Brilliant.
I don’t see these guys as just reactors anymore, they’re more like friends and family that have the same thoughts and interests as I do. It also helps that they are essentially all Mexican too. Keep up the good work guys
These guys are great and better men. they are great people. Just great vibes I love being Hispanic we are the best. Raised right imo
Well, Adam is an honorary Mexican for sure
🥹 thanks, homies
That's called a parasocial relationship
¡Así es!
Technically Jake is the "protector" in the system, who protects them from being physically harmed
steven is the protector mentally, jake is the protector physically
Yeah, in the asylum scenes, you see Jake pop up when he's got the most damage/wounds on his face. Jake took the beatings from Mom. Jake exists to guarantee the survival of the system. Survival is his job.
@@vasectomy_ i like this
@@larimetaylor8811 I’m not convinced the one with the bandage was Jake. Because the post credit scene shows that he speaks Spanish unless he can speak multiple languages which idk why he’d speak to Harrow in Spanish
@@Oregonman2011 he spoke Spanish to Harrow because Oscar wanted to make him a Spanish speaker.
We know that Steven was the innocent alter and we know he didn't receive the abuse. My theory is that Steven was there when his mother got wound up, and JAKE was the one who blipped in to take the punch. Marc would blink in with the bruises and the guilt but no memory of the actual violence. My personal theory is that Jake was the tough guy Marc wished he could be, and that he trash-talked Wendy Spector during the abuse like some boxer as the only way Marc could fight back. Jake was the alter who showed up during his time in the military, hence the fugue state he was discharged for.
Khonshou said he would free them “both” Jake wasn’t in that deal 🤧🔥🔥🔥 I love it
I love that every reaction channel had the same angry "dude wtf?!" reaction and then the post-credit scene made everyone happy again 😆
yeah... everyone wanted more then that. lol
I don't typically watch react videos because so many channels add such little value to the content with deadpan reactions etc. but you guys and your chemistry as well as insight on the VFX industry, knowledge of the material you're actually watching and overall production quality always keeps me coming back for more! 👍
Tomo? WTH this is such a surprise. 😅
Agree 100%
Tomo I feel that way with your content and gaming 👌🤣
Perfect
This channel and blindwave are my favs
Im so sorry about 2042 lol.
Yeah you should check out Blind Wave and Preview'd they are also really good.
10:18 I just realize, Khnoshu put a full moon because that's when Moon Knight is at his strongest (and apparently can fly)
I'm not judging this by episodes... I'm judging the entire series as one. This show could've easily been in theaters and would've done well. Phenomenal acting from Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke, Excellent writing and directing as well.🏆
I really hope there's a season 2. Marc and Steven trying to figure out how the call is coming from inside the house. And more Layla. She's so cool
That’s such a great way of putting it. “The call is coming from inside the house.” Because they still don’t know about Jake. If this were to continue, I’d want to see the two of them trying to live life together. What do they do now? Does Steven go back to the museum? Will Marc still be a mercenary? Do they patch things up with Layla?
I love the tip to the hat to 1980's Moon Knight artist Bill Sienkiewicz, with the "Sienkiewicz Psychiatric Hospital". Amazing end credit scene!
It was also the same hospital that was recommended to Steven back in the second episode.
The menacing look of Jakes eyes just shows it all man. Oscar Isaac did a phenomenal job of playing these three personalities. Hopefully a season 2 will come or a solo film.
alters*
@@Skyewardbound lol same thing but yeah.
@@michaelruiz4403 It really isn't
@@Skyewardbound The personalities may be referred to as alter personalities, alternates, or alters - Google. You sure? Just saying man I ain’t trynna start an argument
I love the world building this series did for MCU. I can't wait to see how Layla and Taweret will fit in the universe from this point on. They are just adding to the list of awesome characters to add to the supernatural side of the MCU.
Layla is The Scarlet Scarab....and she is an MCU Egyptian superhero in the comics...I am sooo excited
they did her so right with that last episode ! im genuinely excited to see what she gets up to while marc and steven deal with the jake issue lol
She was absolutely badass
Jake is essentially Hitman and I love it.
Oscar Isaac's superpower is incredible acting. This man is a whole new level. TBH I am now a fan.
He agreed to release just "two" of them so Marc and Steven are free and moonknight-less, with no clue that Jake is still out here runnin the show
Is full circle, in ep 1 Steven has no idea there is Marc inside of him and now Steven and Marc have no idea there is Jake inside of them.
Stephen Grant is like a classic hero he would never want to kill anyone in any circumstance. Marc is willing to kill only when it's absolutely necessary. Jake was born I think out of Marc not willing to sacrifice innocent people for the greater good. Like to two nurses at the hospital. They had to die so Jake could kill Harrow/Ammit to save the world. So Jake is not a villain just an extreme anti-hero will eradicate evil at any cost.
Layla was the mvp of this epsiode. As great as Marc/Steven are, she was just soooooo good. Super happy about the little scene where she says she's an Egyptian superhero as well.
She was not MVP. Was just feminist fan service.
I wish it was not so forced. She is a talented actress.
Yes!! I LOVE her!!!! 🔥
@@sedlak87 Everything is feminist to you
@@instantdominator2121 ok
One reactor with DID made an observation that gives some credit to the theory that Jake was the one to take the hits growing up. Jake consistently fronts when Marc and Steven are in more danger than they can handle. Both times that he fronted in episode 3 were when Marc was in real jeopardy. Jake also doesn't seem like the harmful stereotype of "the violent personality." He seems to be more protectively defensive against those who are a threat to the system. What a prime target for Konshu to manipulate.
Marc said he was discharged from the military because he went into a fugue state. If we get season 2 I wonder if it will be about Bushman and the formation of Jake in the military.
@@phoenixrising8231 I also think that Jake has always been there but I thought people with DID can form new alters whenever it is needed?
@@phoenixrising8231 Did begins in childhood. A new alter is a symptom of did that Marc already had. Also there is zero evidence backing that Jake took the beatings. Multiple sources say that it's both possible and expected that Steven took them and blocked them out.
One interesting thing: Khonshu calls Marc and Steven idiots and insults them both regularly, but refers to Jake as his friend.
I think he chose Marc because he wanted Jake, not Marc or Steven. Now he has the one he really wanted...and they're definitely on better terms.
from his speech in episode 2 or 3, he found Marc, re recruited Marc, then found Jake and was like "Wow... you are REALLY messed up"
....and then Steven showed up and he was like "Oh come on, give me the other guy back!"
So I accidentally started this video at 1.5 speed and really thought y’all were on crack until I realized what happened lmao 😂🤦🏾♀️ omg that gave me a good laugh
Honestly I was really skeptical about Moon Knight but damn this show blew me away. Moon Knight has secured a place in my favourite superheroes. Definitely gonna be checking out some of the comics now.
I just sort of realized that Steven negotiating with Khonshu briefly was another moment of him being like a protective alter and sticking up for him and im soft
Speculation; Jake is a splinter Alter of Steven, he's the one who took mother's beatings and got twisted by it. (mothers, am I right? down Beetlejuice) I had wondered why Marc balanced at the sea of reeds when there was a third alter to account for, but Jake is tied to Steven not Marc, so when Steven went overboard he took Jake with him, resolving Marc's conflict.
So awesome that you guys are in the same room to react for the finale!
I loved this finale and I really feel like there has to be another season or something after that!
I loved it too. It's a shame that it didn't work for most.
@@metallicnole4514 not most. Most liked it
Spreadin' the gospel of Heroes Reforged, y'all! Love this channel so much
Also, major shout outs to May Calamawy, Oscar Isaac, and Ethan Hawke. They all brought it 100% and I'm going to miss them big time in the coming weeks.
Love seeing y’all in the same room! I really enjoyed this show, Oscar Isaac was SOOOO good!
If you go back to episode 1 knowing about Jake, Steven's first conversation with Khonshu takes a slightly different light.
Khonshu first says "Give the body back to Marc" Khonshu should know that Steven doesn't know who Marc is. When Steven says something back to Khonshu, Khonshu says "Great, the idiot is in control" which seems like an odd think to say if Khonshu only knew about Marc and Steven; it seems like he was expecting someone other than Steven.
Add to this that every transition from Steven to Marc was shown on screen, it makes all the blackouts stand out and now that we've seen Marc blackout for Jake to take over, it makes it seem that every blackout was Jake in control and not Marc like we were lead to believe.
That suit flap part by Steven was so 🔥 and clean!
Man, This reaction made me appreciate the episode more. Thanks guys.
If Moonknight is going to show up anywhere else in the MCU, I could see him turning up in Blade, with the likely darker tone. An Egyptian God avatar fits into a world of vampires better than most of the rest of the MCU could.
Just a thought but I would lay reasonable money that the date that Steven missed at the beginning of the season was a move made by Jake not Marc. Marc loved Layla. Jake I would imagine see himself as more of a confident free agent.
The tiny voices are hysterical XD
Two things: (1) I watch a lot of reaction videos. You all have the most comfortable vibe, natural chemistry, and best analysis in the game. (2) We should give a shout out to Ethan Hawke, who played an immaculate zealot type villian from the opening scene until the last scene. Walking on broken glass is an iconic opening that Hawke came up with himself and pitched to the director.
Absolutely loved this show. I liked that they saved Jake for the end and he’s been hinted at the whole time even from the beginning because who asked that girl out for steaks in the first episode? It wasn’t Marc but Jake the whole time. Really hoping for a season 2
Everytime you saw carnage it was Jake.
In the village where he retook the scarab.
In the cupcake truck when he killed that man, and when the truck was driving backward.
When Mark supposedly walked out of the Museum, and looked at the video camera.
2 times at least when Mark and Harrow were talking, especially when that pyramid was picked up! Finally, when he killed all those people, and bested Harrow in the last episode.
This has absolutely been my favorite Disney+ MCU show from beginning to end (even though I wish the finale was 10-20 minutes longer). I desperately hope we get a season 2 with a proper amount of episodes.
23:01 Hector sounds like he’s doing an impression of David Letterman’s impression of Jay Leno.
I loved it! Layla becoming a superhero, an Egyptian one to boot was "chef's kiss" perfect. My best friend's son is half Kurdish, so for him to be able to so see an Arab superhero is just awesome. Same best friend is also a psychologist and will attest that the D.I.D. is represented accurately and honestly. She was just waiting for the tipping point when the initial trauma happened for Steven to be "born." She was very excited 😁 love you guys, keep up the good work and put your Arcane reactions on UA-cam, please and thank you
Scarlet scarab was MVP of the finale🤎
I heard somewhere about Layla’s costume being inspired by DC’s Isis and Wonder Woman as well as by Marvel’s Scarlet Scarab…which, if true, is also pretty dope.
That was the Sienkiewicz Hospital, a homage to Bill Sienkiewicz.
I loved it from episode one, because I had no set expectations about MoonKnight.
That last episode cemented its epic nature for me in its portrayal of a person with DID, it's a case study of the mental permutations of, and the mental health issues for a sufferer with the ailment.
Konshu said he would free them both! Didn’t say he would free Jake
Woooooowwwwww 🤯
Of course. Jake didn't even want to be freed.
The only "lie" from Konshu was that his next avatar choice was specifically addressed as a "she" in earlier episodes. Konshu said, "she is dear to you", which was in reference to Layla. They could have played it where Konshu didn't have to use pronouns lol
A ridiculously tiny thing that I really love is when Marc comes back to life, he coughs up blood. I appreciate a little more gore, in the right moments, because it really helped cement how badly he's been injured.
that "WAS" Jake with the new york accent in the hospital office with harrow in the last 2 episodes, also in the jeep in episode 4 talking to Layla, and also fighting with the Alexander Axe just before Harrow shot him!!!!!
Right. I think Oscar Isaac leaned a little extra into the NY accent a couple of times ("It's tempting to accept your diagnosis, Doc") just to make sure people spotted the difference.
Layla as the new Scarlet Scarab, teased since Ep3, is so rewarding especially when she confirms she's an Egyptian superhero.
But I think we have seen Jake only a few times: Ep1 during the scarab fight, Ep3 during the cliffside fight, ep5 in the sarcophagus, and twice in ep6, the fight with Harrow and the post credit scene.
Someone made a comment on another reaction that the white limo with the Spectar license plate was metaphorically Mark's body and Jake's been driving it all this time. Interesting. 🤔
Great episode and season. They gotta do a 2nd Season, tho. Think the fanbase is definitely there. 👌🏽
I think Layla is currently my favourite MCU character. I can’t fully put my finger on why, but I think it’s just the combo of how her character progressed throughout the series, great acting and just her over all charisma. Her becoming a hero felt earned during this show.
The Scarlet Scarab finally makes her first MCU appearance.
@Evz Marvel confirmed Layla's superhero name is The Scarlet Scarab.
@Evz Layla's full name is Layla Abdallah El-Faouly
I’m genuinely so happy that you guys love Steven as much as you love Marc and don’t want to see them separated
Everyone saying "what?" in unison at the end of the episode was exactly my reaction. I just love how this Marvel TV series are only how many episodes. Very British way of how to do quality TV shows; short and sweet leaving you wanting more.
Marc the original, Steven the socially accepted face, and Jake the monster that protects the two... The manifestation of all the rage caused from their mother.
It's like when someone who had an abusive past has their instincts kick in
TheCanadianLad had pointed out that Jake has always been there since the first eps. Notice how smooth the transition between Marc and Steven but when they switched to Jake, they were having a kind of seizure and they'd black out.
of all reaction channels i watch (atleast four if not more), y'all are my fucking favorite! y'all have such interesting things to say & great perspectives as y'all have worked on things like this!
ikrr
It’s crazy. In the end I interpret it as Jake tucked Marc/Steven in and strapped him in. Marc and Steven will be collectively blacking out and losing time while Jake is getting his avatar on and that is DARK but frickin EXCITING!
If I had to guess, I'd say Jake was created during his time as a mercenary when people like Bushman would ask him to do things that he normally wouldn't do. So just like he created Steven to be his innocence, he created Jake to be his moral blind spot. And so just like Steven was never aware of Marc, neither of them are aware of Jake. It's like Inception-level consciousness.
What I think would be interesting is seeing the whole situation prior to him meeting Konshu. Something like Bushman telling him to execute the scientists and Marc finally being close enough to the surface to say "No," and Bushman being surprised like, "What do you mean no? You've done way worse for me." Which is what Konshu sensed all along. Konshu felt Marc had his uses, but he played the game of pretending he wanted Layla to keep Marc pliable and not ask questions. And Jake was only teased out for the real nasty stuff.
Do y’all remember way back in the winter soldier when agent sitwell mentioned an archaeologist and Cairo, and we all assumed it was a non-to moon knight? What if the archaeologist was Layla‘s dad and Hydra sent Mark Spector in Bushman to take them out?
I just realized this now... Marc has a grey costume, Steven all white costume so Jake might be black! Like their personalities :O :O
As soon as I watched the post credits, I was so excited to see you guys' reaction to it! and it didnt disappoint when Jake spoke Spanish haha love it
16:06 they do show us a glimpse of Jake’s costume during the credits.
Your channel more than any other. When y’all upload it feels like I’m about to have an awesome discussion with buddies. Please never stop!
Jake is almost like a fail safe. Protecting the body from being destroyed. Hoping that his suit will be the Black Moon Knight suit. Love you guys and your insight. Always my first go to for reactions.
Im one of those who loves Moon Knight now! His darker backstory is really cool and his suits are awesome! I loved this show. I really would love to see him interract with other superheroes because i think that could be awesome
So damn happy to see you guys together again. What a finale, there just has to be more of Jake. Layla made such a badass avatar. Loved seeing Steven be so badass 🙌🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
25:10 thanks for this discussion; enjoyed y’all’s reaction 👍🏾
Very special reaction for the big 3 react to the finale of moon knight together.
Jake definitely locked Marc and Steven in their memories making them think everything is all good now, I honestly think he's all about protecting Marc and Steven. Also, when Khonshu said he'd free them and he technically did. Jake is Moonknight not Marc or Steven. I really hope we get a greelit for a second season soon that explores this AND Layla as a new avatar
I'm sooo glad I didn't know that much of Moon Knight as a character, the reveal of Jake at the end was GLORIOUS. Obviously if you're paying attention to the details you can make the conclusion of a third personality no one seems to know yet but that reveal was perfect. It also help the fact I've watched the show in one go, I don't like to watch one episode and then spend the whole week making theories or reading crazy stuff on the internet that won't be in the show like Mephisto in Wandavision for example.
Oscar Isaac better win an award for his acting in this...
Listening to you three is like listening to my family discuss Moon Knight LOL!
As someone from London, I love that you referred to the Gherkin building as ‘The Egg’ 😂 excellent!
"He's getting un-Bing Bonged." 🤣👏🏾
I think it was Jake who asked Dylan for the steak dinner date. 🎵It was Jake All Along!”🎶
It's so nice to see you three all together in the same space again :D
Moon Knight was already one of my favorite Marvel heroes........this made him more so. GIVE US A SEASON 2!!!!
Y'all grown men and I still saw y'all together and was like "Babies!" XD nice to see you together
Steven/mr. Knight literally fight like daredevil. It’s dope. And Marc fights like Batman
I just noticed the green/white/red Lights in the BG. Nice Touch fellas!
When they all are so happy to hear Jake speak Spanish.
I mean the Moon-Knight series is the multi-national, multi-cultural gift that keeps on giving.
This was my favorite reaction because You guys were genuinely excited for the Latino alter and haven’t seen that excitement anywhere else
"My dad said your dad would say that" I relate to this spiritually 😆 🤣
20:15 just so everyone knows cause apparently everyone missed it, that blue dress nurse is the actress that plays Tawaret
I hope we get a scene where there are a bunch of superheroes, and moon knight is in the background changing costumes every 10 seconds talking to himself.
It's so good to see you in the same room together...Yeah!
How you’re not at a 100K yet is a travesty. I jump to watch your reactions and insight as soon as they’re uploaded.
YOU'RE WATCHING TOGETHER!! I really liked this show, but I wanted more...maybe one or two more episodes? But all in all, great show and great reactions guys!!
Ok I was not expecting a full on kaiju battle plus Layla turning into a winged superhero. So thrilled it's been greenlit for season 2.
Jake's Moon Knight costume shows up in the credits verrry briefly before Moon and then Mr Knight. 🥰
I'm surprised to say I can finally say "first!"
Seriously though, I love all the stuff you guys make and am excited for everything that's yet to come. Keep up the awesome work!
In the first episode he was driving that truck like a pro just casually driving in reverse winding down a mountain, had to have been Jake.
I. Love. You. Guys. Insightful, funny, goofy, and always a great time. *chef's kiss*
Omg , seeing you guys back together ! Whoooo! And Layla looks like I wished Wonder Woman had looked in in her 2nd movie
Check episode 4 .... in the psyche ward when he's taking to Harrow, with a broken nose. He grabs the glass piramid. That's gotta be Jake.
Whoever voiced the hippo is SO GOOD, and the fight this episode was so well done. I really hope he comes back
This whole show felt like the very first episode as an adaptation of an underrated 90s animated series. The music given me serious "Gargoyles" chills.
Great to see the Heroes in the same room. I'm sorry you couldn't watch it on a larger screen. Happy second viewing!
You guys reaction are the best, the reaction feel alive when three of you doing it in the same room not like when online.
