I bought the "Mod 2" 45acp when it first came out. And although I am not enamored by striker-fired or polymer it's a good little straight shooter and one of the easiest OWB pistols to conceal I own. It is one of five Concealed Weapons in my rotation.
I've only got 3 carry pistols. This xds mod 2 45auto, a non-comped Xmacro, and a Smith 686+ 4 inch. Everything else is too big for concealable carry. 6 inch or longer big bores.
The way, I look at this is it takes the pkace that would normally be occupied by a 38 snub-nosed revolver. I gain 1 round because it's 5+1 and it's much faster to reload. Also it's more accurate in my experience than most j frame snubs, not to say those can't be accurate, but this xds mod2 45 auto has really surprised me, with how stupidly accurate it us!!! At 7 yards I can pick the numbers out of my target at will, and I get bored and start in the center and work the center bullseye out if the target. Just like I'm playing tgat shooting game at the fair, where you have to shoot the star out of the center of the target!!!
I think it was a poor business decision not to offer 7 round mags for the xds 45 mod 2. I usually carry with the 6 round mag in my old xds and 2 7 round back ups. Might push some people to look at the M&P Shield 45.
Great review. I had to just recently send my new XDs 45 back for some warranty work. The first 50 rounds I had 6 failure to feed issues. 4-6 weeks before it’s mailed back. My first Springfield ever. I will go back to Sig or Glock just kinda lost my confidence in a EDC weapon with issues right out of the box
Maybe you need to lubricate your feed ramp. And if that doesn’t work you need to change your Ammo to something that cycles properly. I own 7 XD’s and after thousands of rounds have had zero failures.....
True...The only firearm I would ever trust right out of the box; would be Glock. With that said, I have a Sig P365 XL that was shooting not to Sig's standards...Shipped it back and they changed the sights...Gun is flawless now. Had a Hellcat that shot true as heck, but the trigger was locking up. Sent it back, and Springfield said nothing was wrong with it...I got rid of the gun.
@kevinbarry4325 It's not "YOUR'" Rockefeller, it's "YOU'RE" I'm broke living in an isolated million-dollar House, flying planes. And 'YOU'RE' (emphasis on proper grammar. And don't call it a typo. You spaced in between twit) a dumb TWIT!!!☺
So i've owned my 45 XDS Mod2 for almost a year now... definitely snappy. it's difficult to be accurate with it. Close defense only and even worst aim with +P rounds I love the little bugger but it's sad that it's difficult to be on point with it.
I had the same issue, but, I know the reason. Due to the short barrel and overall styling of the gun, if you have ANY flaws in your shooting technique then it will amplify it by 100%. I remember the first time I took it out to the range and my heart sank, I felt like an idiot. Usually I'm a really good shot, but, it was a whole different ballgame with this pistol. I've practiced a lot with it, and I've sorta figured out the technique. It's best to keep your arms totally straight when firing (much like the fella in the video), keep your stance totally squared, and be sure to keep your trigger pull controlled, slow and sure, but not too slow; finger position also matters a lot, make sure you're not putting too much finger on the trigger or too little, as those things will cause massive deviations, especially at further distances. I hope this helped you some. That short sight picture can be a whole different monster if you're used to shooting things like 1911's.
In 9 you get 8 shots and an additional 9 with a spare mag. 2 more pops on the draw is worth more to me than the marginal gains 45 has. 🤷 With the way P+ 9 preforms, the 45 just doesn't look as good as it did in the 40s. With aim like yours probably carry a 33 round stick and a glock with you 😂.
It took me a while to get used to my XDe. Single stack grip and the trigger breaks very late...kinda threw me off. Funny, I didn't have any problems with me old xds right out of the box.
Who ever you have for your camera work !!! Get better or have them understand to keep the focus on the person and were they are looking working. Stop switching from the front angles then side angles that make no sense. Keep the focus on the firearm and its operator and were they are looking as well as working. Thanks for the video an information on this firearm. Looking at a purchase soon.

First!
I already have an XDE in .45ACP, and I love it. It's very much like the XDS. Also looking forward to getting a Hellcat!

Try to conceal carry a 6rd 45acp revolver! They’re huge! 🤷♂️👌😅and I can easily carry my XD-S with the 6rd mag with +1 gives ya 7rds.👍🏻
Same here it replaced a S&W 642. The 642 is now my tackle box gun.
I'd like to see a hellcat in 45. With 10+1 in 45. That'd be a game changer
that would be the size of a glock 30...
@@babyblue8214 not if they worked their magic.
Yes!!! And they should call it the " Bearcat " 🤣
I hear rumors that it is in the works. Not sure if it will be 10 +1...
Id like a double stacked xds
I wish I still had mine. Such a fantastic gun!
Great job as usual Paul! Hello from south Texas! Let me know when you have more classes in San Antonio.

It might until they realize the trigger on the M&P is complete shit.
@@haywoodyoudome I'll have to take your word for it. Al Bundy thumbnail gives you instant credibility.

Do they make extended mags for this? Considering getting this gun.
They make 5,6,7 but you can put Magguts in to give them more rounds without extensions.
The initial background music is distracting (thought your phone was ringing, haha) otherwise very professional and helpful
Accuracy and trigger were not shown in this review.
5:32 DUDE!!! You're shaking!!! C'mon!!!
He is a terrible shot. I bet he cant hit shit past 10 feet. 😅

I bought my xds mod 2 in 45 two weeks ago and it's failing to feed. Any suggestions?
Work on your grip strength. Possible limp wristing? No offense meant.
Three things to try:
Clean it and lube it
Use a heavier round
Shoot like a man
Whyinchu show the targets?
The original was extremely snappy! Has this improved for the Mod 2? I’ve shot the Kahr PM45 and the recoil was night & day.
The video reviews I seen all say the Mod 2 recoil is less than they expected and very manageable. 🤷♂️
Too much flash from the Hydrashoks. They need to use some low flash powder.
Snappy, it feels good???

Don't use +P ammo. It places undo pressure on the gun.

Install a 4 inch barrel to take the snap out of it.

WTF? What is the reason for the obnoxious music? This is unwatchable.
