Yea, it’s tough, when my mom passed last year and my step dad the year before. It really made me think what work we were and weren’t going to do. It’s such a reality check, seeing a close parent die like that.
Honestly a year later, we’re doing better than ever and close to the 2 mil mark, but we got there in a different way than I would have expected, before she passed.
    Keep it up man!

This is the first turnaround video I've seen and I am glad I watched it. I am going to re watch it more to solidify the things I took away from this first time watching it. Thank you for putting great content out to help those around!

I started my lawn care business 24 years ago with a dyno vfr, push mower and weed eater with a homemade trailer my grandfather made. I grew debt free all the way to 6 huge commercial accounts and 120 yards. Every truck, trailer, tractor and beyond is paid for. Even my home.. also have a full service handyman business ran by my son

I love these consult type videos that Mike does. I came into owning the family landscape business with my wife after being in the corporate world my whole life and damn do I feel like I’m struggling. Mike…..if you’re ever in the southern Arizona area, I sure would love to have you evaluate what we are doing and what we can do better because we are not turning the profit we should. It’s already caused my son to quit the business and the family business struggles are real. Sky’s the limit with our reputation and quality but we are missing something for sure.

Burn out is a HUGE issue across all service businesses, ours included. When a single project can last 18 months with little to no downtime...even the toughest can crack. Another excellent video Mike.

Engaging video packed with wisdom. So relevant to day to day real life business. Everyone on video did tremendously, authentic. Excited your having Jon Taffer key note speaker. He gave key note talk this year to American Rental Association.

That business will blow up making the big bucks once his son's come into it. Cuz they could lead the jobs while he continues to get more bigger work.

Would love to see a painting company on here. I own a small painting company here in Michigan. I would also love to see P4P applied to painting, because it would solve many issues in labor. Any thoughts ?

He needs to find a business he's passionate about. He's passionate about a goal but not passionate about the entire path to that goal.
He'll never get to his goal if he doesn't care about the thing that gets you there. He basically just picked something with a low barrier of entry and after a few years or was obvious he doesn't care about that business.
Make a crap ton of money. You can do great things then. Focus on doing great things while you're poor and you see the result right here.
Too many thoughts. Not enough passion and focused intensity.
He seems like a good guy with a ton of potential, he just got a little lost on the plan.

This guy is scared of the hard work of running the business. He wants to think and philosophize instead of dealing with the hard annoying stuff.
I know that because I’m the same way. He needs to just stop muddying the water with all his stray thoughts and just work. Deal with all the crap, and soon the crap will go away.

I am sorry for your lost. My brother is in prison for murder. It kills me inside!! But he deserves to be there. That being said, not sure why your father was in prisons, but yes, if incarcerated you will die alone.
