    Mike Andes did this for free?!
    Wow. I know it makes great content for the channel and it is extremely vulnerable position the biz owners and employees partake in but very impressive that Mike Andes is doing this for free.
    Flying all over and taking time from his family and own company is crazy. Even if p4p is a product or whatever the angle is I am so very impressed with Mike Andes.

    If I was the window cleaning guy I would have left after a month. I have an exterior cleaning and pressure washing company, this guy needs systems and to learn to set customer expectations. Net15 max payment, late fees after at 10% a week, it forces payment usually. I have never had payment issues in 3 years. Stick to core services, learn not everyone is your customer.

    • @gumby511
      @gumby511 5 місяців тому +2

      Exactly minus the 10% fee. Pretty much illegal to charge that much in most states.

    • @sewkingwet
      @sewkingwet 5 місяців тому

      @@gumby511 some kind of a late fee, not necessarily 10% that just makes it more likely to be paid fast.

    • @JoshMann-lj2zr
      @JoshMann-lj2zr 3 дні тому

      To encourage timely payments and offer a clear incentive for using checks, we propose the following in-house payment terms for our service contracts, subject to approved credit:
      - A 10% discount is available if payment is made by check by the 5th of the month.
      - A 5% discount is available if payment is made by check by the 10th of the month.
      - No discount will be applied to payments made after the 10th or to payments made by credit card.
      - A late fee of 5% will be charged if payment is made after the 15th.
      - A late fee of 10% will be charged for payments made after the 20th.
      These terms provide a reward for early payments, no discount for on-time payments, and an incentive to avoid late payments, while also encouraging the use of checks for an overall cost-saving benefit.

    Mike was an all star in this video. Providing life changing advice to this guy. Sad to see that this is happening every day to small businesses. I’ve been there before, I get it but I hate when people seem so unwilling to make the changes necessary to succeed.
    Side note… Get rid of the booze in the office. Not a good look for crew members and staff

    • @kknn523
      @kknn523 5 місяців тому +1

      Yes. The big deal is efficiency for small businesses, and consistency. Lots of people only think about effectiveness which is about 50% of a business, but the other 50% includes ultra efficiency, and dead accurate consistency. Gotta run a lean and well oiled business, not only an effective one.

    I've known business owners like this. Micromanaging control freak. All these ideas, the main hustle pressure cleaning, second hustle christmas lights, 3rd partnership with the window cleaning hustle, 4th hustle a video game, 5th franchising hustle... but nothing ever makes any money. Full of ideas with just as many excuses why it isn't working. This guy should get back to basics. He thinks he is smarter than everyone else but should look in the mirror. The financials don't lie. And stop being so damn nice or hire someone who isn't when it comes to collections / payments. This is business not a charity.

I have the same question about employees in the winter time, how do I keep them/get them back next season. I'm a solo lawn care operator at the moment but I'm quickly coming to the point I need to hire to grow but also to preserve my health I can't do it all at the level I have been doing it or I will burn out. He wants to make expensive equipment, uniforms, and wrapped trucks and all the big business systems mandatory to do a lawncare business. He's the kind of guy that climbs up the ladder, then kicks the latter down once he made it to the top. I heard enough of his interviews.

    It is so hard to get in contact with someone to get the payment. Watching the video ,Mike’s solution to this was a credit card on file , but that is primarily for residential customers. Commercial restaurants do not have a universal credit card to charge.

    If you split into admin operations and sales. What do you do when you have jobs lined up for each individual and one calls out? If your sales guy calls out, your admin can't take the phones and do office work ,if they're out doing bids. What if your sales guys out for a week, you don't bid any jobs for that week?

    As far as lawns and plowing go, I charge once a month. If payments aren't received within 7 days, service is suspended. If their lawn is overgrown due the the suspension, thats another charge. My clients always pay on time

    I own a power washing biz too and the struggle is, all commercial accounts are Net 30-45 for payment. They won’t put a credit card on file..

      Very True. Recommended to can setup payment terms that add extra fees if they go beyond that 30 day mark for example

      @@MikeAndes yes for sure! the good thing is, I’m still a 1-2 person business & my expenses are low. I grossed 325k in 2023 & profited a ton. It’s sad to see this guy struggle

    Blaine needs a non stimulant ADD medication like I'm on. It changed so much for me. I absorb information like a sponge and my mind is calmed

    To the Owner: Have you tried natural remedies for your ADD. Stop eating 5 allergens,,(peanuts, dairy, wheat, oats, and refined sugar) cut back on that... it could take up 2 months. Take coconut oil for neurological problems.. st johns wart is another one. This would help him focus.
    You can't please everyone. You can't expect to get 100% reviews, if your company is growing. Words have power... we all have some sort of limitation that makes it more of a challenge. It seems like you have done well, you just need to tweak some things. Always, tweak and pivot for the better. If he does that, the owner would kill it in sales... and make millions per year. (I love the name, too!) What's up with all the flatscreens?
    To Mike Andes: You are young and a genius. You are helping other small businesses. I know you offer consulting and that is awesome. Your mindset is awesome but the challenge is changing other owner's mindset.
