Apple is pretty smarts actually. They knew other companies will follow them in terms of pricing when they released $1000 iPhone X in 2017. Almost all companies follow them. 3 years later they released $399 iPhone SE, compared to OnePlus 8 pricing that getting close to $1000. You can say anything about Apple. But you can’t deny their marketing team is sick af.

Tamara Joseph there are more android phone cost less, but do they have at least Snapdragon 865 chips inside them? While the SE has A13, same as the 11 series. Apple never did much, even on the original SE back in 2016, but people still buy them nevertheless. Marketing their products is what they are good at. With OnePluss 8 price cost close to a thousand USD in this economy situation. The SE will sell like hot cakes.

Yago Salaverry true, but we can’t deny that Apple marketing team is really good with what they are doing. People will still buy the SE, especially after OnePlus 8 launch yesterday, with so many people expressing their disappointment with the price hike. Apple stole their thunder.
I think the iPhone SE is a great phone for anyone who wanted to get into the Apple ecosystem. It's even a great gift!

Just stick with the IPhone 8 then, they are both the same exactly phone anyway, save your money
Points to notice:
• The iPhone SE features wireless charging, whereas even though OnePlus 8 costs $699, it doesn't.
• The iPhone SE comes with an IP Rating of IP67, which means it can be submerged in a meter deep water for 30 minutes, which is by the way, still better than the OnePlus.
• The iPhone SE also features A13 Bionic, which is the fastest processor in a phone, period. And comparing benchmark scores with the Snapdragon 865, it's clearly evident which processor performs better. Even in the real world usage, A13 outperforms the Snapdragon 865 in every certain way.
• iOS is, just simply put, more than an operating system. It is, by far, the most secure mobile operating system worldwide, moreover, it holds many exclusive apps (of which iMessage is an example) and games which Android world is deprived of. iOS is way advanced in special features which it introduces exclusively on its supported devices, which Android usually copies lateron. Moreover, software updates for the iPhone is usually a long term deal. It gets updates for as long as six versions which Android can't compete with in any way as such.
• Cameras on the iPhone SE support portrait mode which is an excellent feature to have on (which, by the way, was introduced in the iPhone 7 back then in the day). OnePlus at $699 doesn't provide any feature as such. Moreover cameras on the iPhone support next-generation SmartHDR, which is, by far the biggest leap in the photo and video quality in a smartphone. Well, putting down this - simply, the iPhone camera may not feature a 48 megapixel camera but in real world usage it is going to outperform the OnePlus 8. Well if you are forgetting, let me remind (or acknowledge you) that the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro alongside the Pixel 4 and the Pixel 4 XL feature a 12 megapixel cameras as the main sensor, yet the photo and video quality are excellent in relative smartphone terms.
• Design may seem pretty old on the iPhone SE yet it is the most popular smartphone design of all time. And well, people are very much acquainted with the iconic Touch ID which still works quite seamlessly.
• The display on the iPhone may not be the best-in-class but still it is a good compact display by today's terms. It has a great colour accuracy with a compact form factor which people have been loving over the generations of the device.
And well the specifications do matter; what actually matters in the real world is the experience you get using the product. Which is more important in my opinion. And this all alone makes the iPhone better than the OnePlus 8 in my opinion.
And if you like you can still choose between either of these products in my opinion because at the end of the day, it is our satisfaction for the money we're paying which matters.

The iPhone 8 has been great for me. I’ve had it for almost a year and a half and it came out a year and 4 months before I got it lol! It’s been a beast! I love it. The SE will be amazing with an extra GB of ram and portrait photo features! You may miss the 3D Touch but the fast charge and wireless charging is a nice upgrade from the iPhone 7! ☺️

@@jbar_85 I use 3D touch a lot, mostly when typing to move the cursor like a trackpad. It's gonna be really hard to switch to a phone that doesn't have it now, but it seems they're phasing it out :/

Meaning the new A13 Bionic Chipset is going to save battery life more than iPhone 8 in a long shoot, unless Apple uses Software (AGAIN) to hinder the battery from lasting a long time.

Do you think I should still pick this up just to see what I've been missing out on after the 8 years since I last got an Apple device?
(I got a 4th Gen iPod Touch as my first Apple device which also happened to be my first smart device too about 8 or 9 years ago. I loved that device, but I never seemed to get an iPhone because my parents had always had Android devices and I had to follow suit, you know? That iPod Touch is STILL running near-flawlessly despite the other Android phones I have gotten over the years that have succumbed to the infamous lag that seems to occur after about 2 years of use. It still amazes me how my iPod Touch is OLDER than the Android devices, yet it still keeps on going.)
Would it still be wise to pick it up just to catch up on all of the iOS exclusive games/apps that I used to play back in the day while also having the option to turn it into my daily driver if I wanted to? (It will essentially be an over-glorified iPod Touch for the most part...due to having an Android phone as my daily driver already and the newest iPod Touch generation having a lacklustre chipset in it when compared to the other Apple devices available...)
I feel like it will have that nostalgia factor to it too...because my old iPod Touch was the black variant too...
My current daily driver is a S10e...

NeverEndinChaos I’m having the same thoughts. I own a Mac and an iPad so I’m already halfway into the Apple ecosystem but I’ve always used Android because cheaper phones, more customization options (because I’ve heard jail breaking has become more difficult with the years) and the whole planned obsolescence scandal. I was thinking of getting the S10e because I now have the budged for it but the new iPhone SE threw me a bit of a curveball. What’s been your experience with the S10e? Have you had it for long?
@@Sara128 To be completely honest, I haven't used the S10e very much as I was waiting for the case I bought for it to arrive. The case literally arrived yesterday and now I'm just going through my old S8 to make sure I'm not transferring too much stuff that I don't need...not that I need to worry about storage (the S10e has double the storage of my S8).
But yeah, on first impressions, the S10e is literally perfection...in my opinion. The fingerprint scanner is actually in a usable spot; the display is flat instead of curved; still have the headphone jack; expandable storage; more RAM; faster processor. Literally everything is better on the S10e when compared to my S8. It even has the same display size in a smaller body. I know some people have been complaining about the battery life on it, so I'll be sure to test that out once everything is fully transferred over.
But, from what little I've used of it so far, it seems like I'll have it for a long time.
You'll have to remind me to let you know how the battery is on the S10e once I get it fully set up.
Also, the other Android phone you might want to keep an eye on is the Pixel 4a once it releases...But it does have a few compromises in comparison to the S10e.
The other Apple device I've been looking at is the iPad Mini 5. If my S10e is as good as I think it is, I might end up getting the iPad instead of the SE because it wouldn't really be too wise to get another phone if the phone I'd currently be using is still basically brand new...you know?
I guess everything hinges on my S10e...
I better get to sleep so I can make sure everything is sorted out before tomorrow ends. If not tomorrow, definitely before the beginning of the weekend. Perhaps the weekend can be the two days for testing out the S10e's battery too. At least I've got someone to keep me accountable now haha.

NeverEndinChaos Thank you for your reply! I tend to be indecisive and an over thinker which is why I’m looking up reviews from actual users and all that before getting a new phone 😅. You reminded me why I thought the S10e was such a nice choice to get but I still look forward to hearing how you deal with it in a few weeks (since I’m actually buying the phone by the end of this month).
I’m really not a heavy tablet user, the only actual reason why I have an iPad was because I won it in a contest 😂, but ever since I’ve had it (which is since late 2016) it’s actually been pretty great. It’s an iPad Air 2, 64gb and it’s running iOS 12.1 (I procastinate updates), everything still works like a charm. I do have the cellular version of it but I don’t use it with a SIM card, just my WiFi, and because of this I think battery life is better than if I used it with a SIM card. Again, I’m not a heavy user and I don’t use it for games or anything like that, I use it mainly for reading, watching YT and occasionally to showcase my work (I’m a graphic designer). When I use it just to read I can easily get 2-3 days before I have to charge it, however lately I’ve been watching tons of UA-cam videos and I find I get around 1-1 1/2 day out of it.
I don’t think your idea of getting an iPad is bad, however I would consider the usage you’ll give it. I’m speaking for myself but if I actually had the chance to buy an iPad I probably wouldn’t because I already have a laptop and a phone I can already do the same things on. However if I knew I would use it a lot for work or as a reading device or I had an actually justification for using it frequently I wouldn’t hesitate and would choose Apple all the way since Android tablets aren’t as reliable (3 years of use and still going strong with no lag!).

I have an iPhone SE (First generation). It has served me very well for all these years. So I think getting an iPhone SE (Second generation) is just the ideal upgrade for me.

Just ordered two SE ~ One for the wife ~ 64GB ~ She currently has a 5c that's more like a toy than a phone ~ Me I currently have 5s in which the battery runs out faster than I feel safe with ~ I ordered 256GB because I have almost 7000 songs I like to carry around with me ~ I felt we have nothing to lose here since we bought our old phones back in 2013 ~ We got our money's worth out of those sucker ~ My thinking is that R&D is changing so fast that I don't want to put my money down on something that will be obsolete in a matter of a few years ~ Not concerned with 5G I don't play games on my phone or watch movies either so I don't really care to wait for 5G ~ I'll let others flash those big-screen phones around that wouldn't even fit in my back pocket ~ This will work just fine for me ~ The Price is right ~ Thanks for your review ~ Sold ~
Call me crazy, but I’m trading in my XS Max for this new black SE. Reason is that I’m waiting for the 12 but I find the Max way too big and prefer the smaller iPhones. I wish I purchased the smaller XS originally but lessons learned. It won’t cost me anything for the trade and is a cheap purchase until the 12 is finally released. It will suit me perfectly as I’ll have Touch ID once again, a lovely small and sleek design, A13 chip, and when the 12 is finally released, it’ll be like like a new huge upgrade again. Before anyone says, yes, i am taking a step down but it will be a cost free swap and almost a nostalgic feel albeit with a new phone.
same here, call me crazy, I own Iphone 11 pro and thinking to switch to new SE, every time i touch my secondary Iphone 8, it feels so grate, touch ID, size...the battery is an only issue here
My parents don't care for technology. My mom still has the Galaxy S 7. It's been really glitchy lately. This is perfect for her since it has the latest tech at a great price. She probably will keep this one for five years as well.
I have the 6s right now, and I'm excited to get the SE. After messing with some other phones over the last 2-3 years, I've realized I kinda prefer the smaller screen size, 4.7" seems to be just what I want for a phone. Definitely will be a very worthy budget upgrade when the time comes

You'll be blown away! Even the step up from iPhone 6 to XR felt like lightyears in terms of speed and performance but that chip has nothing on the A13.

You have to remember about the battery. This is a smaller screen so battery doesn’t have to work hard to light up a big screen

I'm totally going to get one! I've been using a 6s for years and while I'm not opposed to Face ID, for things like contactless payments, Touch ID is still faster, as you don't have to point your phone at your face first!
Also, wireless charging will be a nice change, finally! :D
Can’t wait to get to this one! I had the iPhone 7 upgraded to the XS the screen was too much for my eyes I got headaches and my eyes were hurting could barely look at the phone switched back to the 8 and boom no more headaches..now I preordered the white SE can’t wait! So happy they did this!

I am an Android user since 2008 when first HTC(T-Mobile G1) came out :) and at the moment own Pixel 4. I do like to keep track what technology world has to offer and planning to pick up this phone up, mainly for iOS itself. I want to see how it progresses with time and what new features come out for it. Didn't want to get iPhone 7 or 8 since they are now old, but this fresh SE would make a good second phone. This would be a great iPhone for kids and the elderly. And there’s just those that want to have a good iPhone, who doesn’t care a lot about the camera, and many of all the features, that most of us do. Most of all in here want the best of the best, and just a beast of a phone. Not all people want or use all of those things, and we’re creatures of habit so they’re used to iOS and prefer that over all the “fancy” things 😊👍🏼

I will admit I like the design & perception of the new SE (from Apple’s commercial) but I won’t be upgrading to it since I have a XR & came from the 7, I would basically be backtracking at dat point lol. Now I wouldn’t mind buying it jus to buy it & have it as a backup phone or work phone or something, but as my main phone I use everyday? Nah lol
as a person that doesn't give a damn about the design , couple that with with my very small hands, this phone is great for me, I have an iPhone 7 and I think this is a great upgrade, the camera too is OK, I am not too assessed whether the other iPhone have better cameras or not, I will definitely buy this. I think it is tailor made for a person just like me. Also software update for the next 5 years is great😉

I agree. Although, they are claiming that the A13 chip is 40% more energy efficient and so it will run with that much draw on the battery as compared to the iPhone 8 chip set. Should definitely increase battery life! We'll see I guess!

You don't have to active the face ID. You can still access with a numeric code. That's what I do on my IPhone 11 Max Pro.
IceManLikeGervin why did you get an 11 Pro Max only to not use Face ID? Like, that’s one of the biggest things about the phone and you’re choosing not to use it? Your choice but I strongly recommend you use it, security and speed, faster than a numeric code easily.
