Maximum respect for this English team full of stars. On Sunday we will compete to provide the best Euro Cup final in history.
Chill, mate. 1 hour ago there was a huge radio show here sayin that Yamal is the biggest impact in football history since Pelé. Spanish pundits are unbeatable. Hope Lamine keeps on instagram chicks and studyng high school xDDD
Rodri to me has been the best football player in the world the last 2-3 years. He completely and consistently dominates the midfield. Seems like it's only a matter of time until Yamal claims the crown however, barring injuries, though you never know. Yamal's rise to the top seems sustainable.
Regarding the Cucurella handball against Germany, just before the handball there is a german player that participates in the game and is in offside. I think that's why the VAR didn't call the referee to give a penalty.
@@elsaturin1502 Sorry I don't understand your comment. Just before the possible penalty, there was a pass to Fullkrug who was in an offside position. Also, Fullkrug first control the ball and then the ball go to his arm, before he passes to Musiala, who shots and the ball goes to Cucurella's arm. Cucurella's handball can never be penalty because the game comes from a previous offside and handball from the German player. So even if Taylor had given the penalty, the VAR would have disallowed it. The handball is up to interpretation, but the offside is not, so the penalty could never have been.
You’re talking about a different incident. The offside was the one where he was by the byline at the back post. The big handball they are talking about was a shot from the edge of the box, with no offside at all.
@@daviebananas1735 This is the video of the action: ua-cam.com/video/9A0sk2unhEI/v-deo.html When the german player cross the ball, Fullkrug is in an offside position. Before the possible penalty from Cucurella, there are both offside and handball from Fullkrug, so there couldn't ever be a penalty from Cucurella.
magical boy who makes you want to watch football again. He is very reminiscent of the early years of Roberto Baggio and above all the lightness and determination of Alex Del Piero. Very good. No star, yes football.
Great game and I am really happy Spain is in the final. I think Spain has been since the start until now the best team in the tournement and hopefully can win the Euros on Sunday, though I am sure it will be a hard game either against England or Netherlands. As a Spanish man living in England I would really like a Spain - England final, and hopefully with Spain winning, but if we lost at least England would get their first Euros. Just to mention, both in the quarter finals and in the semifinals two of the three pundits said that Spain would lose. I think you were thinking too much on the big names of Germany and France (wonderful teams), instead of actually looking how the teams are playing in this Euros. Congratulations for the Postcad. I have been watching it every day in the Euros. It's great
Spain are trying to win in 60 minutes. Commendable because nobody else seems fussed about winning in 120. Yamal wanding that ball in the net in that fashion was special and properly stunned France. For anyone to beat Spain in the final their energy and effort without the ball is going to have to be immense and the bench will need emptying. The ball moves so much faster between Spanish players on the attack than Netherlands or England.
@@jeremymuir4332 i think that’s their brilliance in defence actually, Spanish possession teams maybe with the exception of Real Madrid against city this year often struggle with a plain old park the bus and absorb pressure defence. What they did to turn their ‘tiki taka’ into a defensive measure was a smart play, taking the ball up and down the pitch keeping the French in their own half cycling it between themselves limited them from having the amount of opportunities to threaten Spain compared to if they had tried to go for a kill. They also pulled it off better keeping Yamal & Williams on rather than off compared to Germany where it almost went terribly wrong.
As a Dutch man, I have been watching these podcasts and the BBC these past weeks. It has been far more entertaining than the Dutch coverage. A joy to watch, and really came to like all of these England peeps :). So much that I almost want England to win tonight! No but honestly, I think that the England squad will finally show what they have in store tonight, and, I would not mind to lose to a very talented England squad like this as much as I thought I would before this Euros started. Good luck to all and lets hope the game will be at least just as entertaining as these guys and their podcasts. The Netherlands and England both can do a lot better than they have shown so far!
As a barca fan, i am happy we got yamal and other young talents. We lost big veterans like Messi, Pique, Busquets and so it feels like the future of barca is safe.
Iraola, Xabi Alonso, Arteta,Lopetegui and Emery are from Guipúzcoa, Basque Country, this is just crazy. De la Fuente was born in Haro, but his family is from Bilbao and he played for Athletic Club. Mendilibar, the Olympiacos coach who recently whom the Conference Cup is also from the Basque Country. Maybe you could invite one of these guys to know more about it. As Gary said, there’s something going on there. Athletic Club and Real Sociedad have been great this season.
Spain have been far and away the best team since the very first game, yet these lot constantly overlooked and disrespected them. Was blindingly obvious they were gonna be challengers
Easy to say now that it was blindingly obvious from the first game. Croatia were pretty awful all tournament and were dreadful in that Spain game, so was easy to question whether it was Spains quality or Croatia being shite. Although they’ve been quality all the way through, deserved winners should they beat England or Netherlands on Sunday night.
@@oscarpye8151 I agree that Croatia were off it, but just their movement, ability and fearlessness to drive through the press or pass through lines, their overloads...tactically them and Germany looked the best. I played football at a decent academy level then stopped at 15. So I know a thing or two, but I don't understand how these ex pros can be so clueless sometimes
Spain have been by far the best team with that combination of overall balance, exciting skill, quick passing and control in the midfield. I thought France would have to really click into gear to get near them last night; they did do okay but it wasn't enough. Either England or Netherlands will also have to raise their game considerably to get the better of them.

Loved the podcast. One thing about Luis Enrique's Spain that many misunderstood or didn't consider is that he didn't have neither Lamine nor Nico Williams, they just arrived to the big stage, so even though LE counted with lots of talent (especially in midfield), he didn't have that much threat or difference makers on the frontline, players that can turn around a match like Lamine did. So, why was LE so insistent with retaining possession, to almost a point where it got boring? Because his plan was to avoid the opposition getting chances, as while it took Spain let's say 6 shots to get a goal, the opposition does it in 2-3. That was the only way they could face the big teams that had much more fire power, by not letting them have the ball, as a matter of fact they completely dominated France in the Nations League final and got done dirty by the ref that day, they should've won. De La Fuente knows that this time around he does have the fire power that Luis Enrique missed in Nico and Lamine, they try to keep most of the possession but also know they can land a KO punch if they go blow for blow against a big team.
Germany v Spain really was the final. In that game, you really felt either team could win and would've deserved to win. In this game, once they were down, France wasn't all that threatening. They're missing something up front. Between the two, Spain was the one that deserved to go through.
Gary: "Hello and welcome to The Rest is Football with Micah Richards, Alan Shearer and me Gary Linekar... He still had 4 months till his birthday - and also he scored 3 goals in the semi final alongside the 2 in the final, which you never bring up. Love to Yamal though!
As a Barça fan, i worry about Lamine. We've had a terrible luck and a horrific way of managing with these insanely gifted youngsters. Ansu Fati, Pedri, Araujo and Gavi were all sensational footballers for their age. But they were overworked and before even knowing, they got injured and it drastically changed them. Lamine unfortunately is being used the same way. Now with Hansi Flick, I can only hope he doesn't do the same thing as Xavi and Koeman. Barça needs to change the whole training method and medical staff as well.
I love how much you know about football. And being Spanish I want that England wins a great tournament. For the people, for the country, for so many reasons. Gary Lineker has the same natural talent as Michael Robinson had in Spain in the media. Regards
I've not seen Lineker colour up so much after Micah's advances, since Pele stated he loved to gaze at Gary running across the grass (I don't think it was barefoot).

what a fucking trio please never stop these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
None of this happens without Rodri.. the Midfield Maestro

Sorry, but pls read the current rules. No offside. Penalty should have been given. Taylor is either blind or corupt
@@daviebananas1735 This is the video of the action: ua-cam.com/video/9A0sk2unhEI/v-deo.html
When the german player cross the ball, Fullkrug is in an offside position. Then Fullkrug controls the ball with his chest and the second touch is with his arm. He passess the ball to Musiala, who shots and the ball goes to Cucurella's hand.
Before the possible penalty from Cucurella, there are both offside and handball from Fullkrug, so there couldn't ever be a penalty from Cucurella.

I think Dani Olmo has been Spain and the tournaments best player!

Do you mean win in the 60 and hold back in the last 30?
@@Sundownerrr yeah, they really changed to keep ball and slow everything down yesterday. Much harder to watch which is a pity.
Spain are on another level to the contenders.
Pure football.
Yamal at 16 years old has just knocked out Mbappe 😳 and France 🇫🇷 this player only 16 and is in a euro final

Fantástico podcast 😂
I appreciate the respect between these lads.
Spain have been far and away the best team since the very first game, yet these lot constantly overlooked and disrespected them. Was blindingly obvious they were gonna be challengers
that's true nobody named them as the first choice to win they were always behind england, germany and france in their lists. look at them now.

1) Hes 16!! Bowen is 27 ffs in his prime and Yamal is already better than both Gordon and Bowen.

But Southgate tactics are wild
Southgate is totally incompetent as a tactical football manager. every one knows it, but to scared to say it.
In terms of players impressing in major international Football tournaments as a teenager in football history, those players are in my opinion:
Pelé 1958 WC
Wayne Rooney 2004 euros
Kylian Mbappe 2018 world cup
Lamine yamal 2024 euro
Yamal is still too young and developing, but in terms of being in that list, he is definitely deserve to be in that list. Which is saying something. Still only 17 yo😊💯👍

I've not seen Lineker colour up so much after Micah's advances, since Pele stated he loved to gaze at Gary running across the grass (I don't think it was barefoot).
Scrap extra time & penalty shoot outs - most 'shots on goal' after 90 mins wins, if scores are level. That would liven things up.
