This was by far the best episode. Chiellini was the last breed of old-school Italian defenders. He's intelligent, tough, but also charismatic and friendly off the pitch. He also has a degree in economics. Truly a gem and a role model for the younger generations.

Ye know what? This wee interaction would’ve been a right belter if Chiellini and Roy Keane had dragged along some of their pals. That was magic, the repect he had for Roy was so pure. I grew up watching Roy all through his career and I've still not seen a better midfielder in the prem, although some have come close.
If Portugal get to the final in 2 years time, and it goes to extra time, Ronaldo will play 120 minutes at the age of 42. Whether we agree with that or not 😅

Excellent interview. Nice to see Barzagli get a mention as well. Gets no credit here in England but is probably regarded as the best of the three in Italy.
Great episode. I loved seeing the love and respect Chiellini has for Roy. It was also fascinating to hear about 14-15 year old defenders being taught the grey arts of defending where you don't give away a foul / penalty but gain an advantage on the attacker. It is one of the key reasons why the Italians have always built great defenders.
