    Awesome. This sounds a lot like what I already do as a developer. Thanks for the video!

    Do you do a mentorship? Im glad you made this video.. I know i made the request for more videos like this :D
    Ive had multiple BA interviews- following your methods- I have two years of experience as an Application Analyst, entry level to a BA role. But no companies have been clicking forming. Im assuming I have to do a better job at selling myself

      Regarding mentorship: I don't do 1-on-1 mentorship because realistically there are many of you and one of me. So then I would have to decide who gets my time and who doesn't. If I mentoring one person, then I'm not making a new video that's reaching hundreds of people. So to limit demand and make it worth my time I would have to charge high enough price for mentorship. However, my audience is mostly people trying to get a job, and may not be able afford such a price tag. So rather than mentoring a few people very expensively, I mentor everyone for free via videos and answering questions.

    Hey Angelo. Thanks for the video, very informative and aligns with what I processes I have at work as a BA as well. Where I work we have scrum teams. The BAs were on scrum teams in sort of a BA/PM role. So the decision was made to remove the BAs from the teams for some reason.. I am trying to wrap my head around how this is supposed to work. There was no product owner that replaced us. The Lead Devs on the teams essentially absorbed alot of the BA work. We occasionally get invited to a grooming session but we are just writing user stories, spec docs, and/or process diagrams as needed. It's causing quite a disconnect not being on the teams. Have you seen this type of structure before and if so, did it work? Do you have any advice or tips for me? I'm a relatively new BA but have been doing it almost two years. I've just never seen this type of structure and it seems like the boundaries get extra blurry.

      Agile is about doing what works and learning incrementally. Something thing that works at one place may not work at another. This is why retrospectives and continuous improvement are part of the scrub process. If there is no BA then you have to ask yourself (and the team), do you need one? What would improve of you had one?

    How hours do you typically work outside of your regular work schedule?

    • @AngeloTheBA
      @AngeloTheBA  3 роки тому +4

      I try not to work much outside normal hours unless there is a real benefit to doing so (like me holding up someone else's ability to do there job). In agile, over time you get better and estimating how long things will take since you are cycling through activities more frequently, so I don't over commit. If it's not something going on the next sprint, then it's not urgent.

    Hello Angelo, I'm pursuing my bachelor's degree in SCTLM and was looking to merge into the aviation industry. I was thinking of pursuing my masters in supply chain analyst but would like to know more about this function. I would appreciate your input on this topic, thanks in advance Great information 👍

    • @AngeloTheBA
      @AngeloTheBA  2 роки тому

      Supply Chain Management falls closely with Industrial Engineering, so I would recommend videos on that topic. I will say that the path you've chosen (essentially studying biology to merge it with airplanes to subsequently learn how to optimize process flows) is unusual. What is your end goal?

    Angelo, how is the WFH/remote flexibility as a BA? I mean is it OK to work from home a day a week or a few days a month or is it pretty hands on and requires physical environments?

    • @AngeloTheBA
      @AngeloTheBA  3 роки тому +2

      Business analysis can be done virtually and the flexibility is determined by the organization.

    Hey, I am an IB Y2 student and will begin my undergraduate degree in the second half of 2022. I love the job of business analyst and truly desire to be one. However, I am a bit confused in choosing the right degree for this career. Should I do a
    Bachelor of Economics degree
    OR
    Bachelor of Commerce degree (major in information systems, etc)
    Which would provide a more clear path to becoming a business analyst?
    Hope to receive a reply by anyone. Thank you🙏🏻
