I would like to thank both BA Blocks and Rishi for sharing this awesome video with us. I watched it at least 3-4 times before my interview and I am happy to let you know that I got selected for the job!! The way Rishi framed his answers not only helped me in answering my questions for the interview, but it has opened up a whole new perspective within me. It has transformed how I look at my work and my career progression. I will be forever grateful to you both!. thank you
This video has consistently been my cheat sheet before interviews. I made sure to watch this at least once before going into all my BA interviews and guess what? I heard back from the first company I had interviewed for few weeks ago and I got the job!
I made sure to structure my answers just as Rishi did and I could feel how well received my response was.
Thank you team!
Wow! Congrats Satakshi.
do you work from home as BA? also how much is the salary?
Yes, many BAs work from home. Especially now. Salaries vary widely depending on location, seniority, and specialization.
This was really insightful and has helped me alot. Thank you
Nicely put up his answer and fairly replied for all questions
Really loved the content, the structure, and the organization, but do not use too many "uh" s in the conversation. If you notice the Interviewer's "uh" blended in the sentence, but the interviewee's "uh"s were more pronounced which reflects lower levels of confidence. I believe he has written down the notes on his screen and is using it as a reference (love that trick, always helps) to frame his sentences.
The way I removed filler words from my conversation was to reduce my speed of speaking. (Speed of thinking > speed of speaking) Using this comparison you will be able to reduce fillers from your sentence.
All very good tips. Thanks for sharing your thoughts Sneha.
I rarely comment on youtube.
Great questions, great scenarios, great answers, great interview.
Very informative. Thanks a lot for sharing this interview
Can we please bring Rishi Back for more interview sessions.
One of the best interviews :) Rishi has responded so smoothly. I really like the response on conflict management.
I love all Rishi's responses, but loved his priorisation techniques responses the most. Very apt.

I've been following your channel for quite some months..your content and videos are sooo good...I've learnt a lot about BA and things are explained in such a practical way that one can easily visualise how actually it happens. Thanx a lot for great informative channel.
You're very welcome Bhagyashree.
great video . this helps a lot of us who are willing to start out and get direction to a BA role. Rishi has massive experience which is shown in the answers . great job guys
😄
1:11 love this momment
Really great insights, as a fresher i loved the way he explained every situation. Really helped me to answer various questions based on these situations. Thanks a ton ❤️
,
As per my experience, a BA role is more about expressing, way of communicating, ur facial expressions, ur first instinct when you hear the question,
You can be a software developer by learning tech.
But u become BA with experience and analysis, IQ thing is what u r born with.
This video was really helpful👍☺️
I would hire him. Great answers. Confident person
This Video is priceless. ❤I always watch this before any interview. I have an interview tomorrow! Wish me luck 😅
Hey @BABLOCKS guess what? I got the offer after my interview haha 😂. Thanks again!
Wow! A massive congrats to you!
wow great interview nice insights😊
very informative, thanks :)
Really learned alot
After listening this interview I understand that it is much easier than to be soft developer or even software tester.
Rishi is a seasoned professional with deep knowledge about his domain. Don't let that discourage you. All of us started off with baby steps and worked our way up to this level.
Damn Rishi is a smart guy. Very easy to understand too
nice, just aked to join the community. looking good
thanks for the video 🙏
You're very welcome sahil
Most of the things have gone over my head but it is a very informative video.
I hope this doesn't discourage you. Rishi has deep domain knowledge in the area he works in. Once you choose a domain to specialize in, you'll be able to speak with the same level of fluency in your area. It's a natural part of becoming an expert.
This was a good Topic To choose
This is the best interview help.
Happy to see that the video is helpful. Thanks for the comment.
The interview was too smooth )
very informative and helpful. keep the tempo guys!
This needs to be transcripted. It's gold.

Thanks Surendra. Glad to see that you liked the video.
thanks
You're welcome.
Emal, cool stuff! Could you do one mock for Juniors/less than 2 year experience
Very informative
I enjoyed this mock interview session. I will be incorporating some of it into developing my CV story
Hi, great video, if a similar mock interview is available for the junior-mid level it would love to view that.
Yes, interviews for junior and mid level professionals can take a different tone. We'll keep this in mind when searching for good mock interview candidates.
Thanks for the suggestion Spardha.
Please share if you find it somewhere else
Looking for the same. Interviews for mid level BAs.
yes looking for the same..
Waiting for the next mock interview from Rishi and Emal
Follow-up with Rish coming soon. It won't be a mock interview, but it will certainly be a valuable conversation. Stay tuned!
is the last question about having two analyst tag along in scoping out the requirements in the inception stage answered correctly? What should be the correct answer to that question?
Where should I start m looking to work as ba, starting interviews very nervous
Please post more
This looks real, i am sure he is real...for last question he fumbled though...but over all he is very good..want to see some enthusiasm
Follow-up interview with Rishi coming soon. Stay tuned!
@bablocks have you considered havimg a mock for salesforce business analysts???
We have some salesforce BA related interviews coming up. These will be more of an expert interview rather than a "mock interview".
can you please make a mock interview video for healthcare business analyst?
Hi Pankit, I'll definitely keep my eye out for an articulate BA in that space that can help us understand the domain.
@@BABLOCKS thank you very much. Looking forward to it.
I started browsing on UA-cam, seeking help and answers to learn and prepare myself for a cash management and capital market interview if my resume gets selected for the role. This video is definitely very helpful. But anyone here, if they have experience working as a Business Analyst in the capital market and cash management, please share any insights you have . I want to be very well prepared
Good luck with the interview !
Can you please do STAR Model Business Analyst interview 🙏
Great
How does a BA keep the work organized and streamlined?
Hi Prats,
There are many good strategies for this, but largely depends on the specific issues that are in the way of the BA from achieving this.
We'll keep this quesion on our list of considerations for a future video.
Do we have to complete a certification to add more credibility and weightage as a BA in Capital Market?
Certifications definitely do add credibility but they are not a hard requirement to do the job of an analyst.
Is this a mock interview,?
Yes Manojsen, this is a mock interview with one of our community members. Find out more about our community here: bablocks.com/membership/?ref=2
To train yourself
Tell me about yourself ?
Tell me one time where the project didn't go as planned ?
How do you clear stakeholder requirement ?
2 senior stakeholders 2 features a disagreement how do you solve it ?
What do you do when you don't understand develepper ?
I am a new BA trainee. Just concern about the fact that I need to know whom I talking to and how much I want to deliver in my speech.
Hy nazmul can I ask you a question- can I do business analytics course to become bussnies analyst
I don't know but it looked like from first sight, Ayushman Khurana (from Bala) was giving the interview.
what about if youre in a meeting with cross teams and 2 different teams (or more) both have a priority at the same level what do you do then ho wdo you prioritize ?
Priority can never be at the same level. If both your stakeholders are vying for their problem to be solved first, then you and your PM must present the decision to the management group funding the project and ask them to prioritize.
Please suggest some good colleges in canada to pursue business analyst course.
Canada's focuses more on experience than degree..so an e-learning platform that would teach you from scratch, as well as create a simulated environment where you can apply what you have learnt would be ideal
Just wondering, always looking at the right side of the screen with pauses when speaking, doesn't it come off as something undesirable?
Breaking eye contact to look in a different direction usually indicates that the person is thinking and choosing their words carefully to synthesize a thoughtful answer to the question.
Is basic BA certification course essential to get your 1st BA job?. This is with over 20 years of core Finance(Specialism FP&A) experience
Hi Archana,
It can definitely help you understand the profession and speak more intelligently in interviews, but a course is not mandatory.
I will have a BA interview next week. This is a great video. Thanks a lot for sharing. The questions and answers are both excellent!
Good luck with the interview!
How should a fresher for this role answer the first question ❓
Why is the interviewer talking more than the the guy being interviewed
I have a bachelors in computer science and I am a BA - what would be a good Masters to do to progress career-wise? Something business related?
Don't waist your money on masters. Get professional certificates instead . Volunteer with some charities and create a blog based on yout subject.
A master's degree is unlikely to contribute significantly to your career as a BA.
can you do one in healthcare domain please
Hi Bala, I'll put this on the list of future videos and see if a good healthcare BA professional is out there that would be willing to do an interview.
Can you explain the scenario of surviliance team situation?
Hi Dave, thanks for the request. It may take a while before we're able to produce such specific domain related content.
the answers are good, but it seems that Rishi did not always accurately answer the question asked, for example, the question was about how to deal with the fact that stakeholders have a very high level requirements, but they have no idea what they need technically, Rishi perfectly described the techniques of prioritization, but did not answer the question asked.
I knew a Rishi Poptani from school.. Not sure if he is the same one.
