This was shaping up to be the greatest DkS Let’s Play/walkthrough. Sux life got in the way bc u had a tremendous amount of natural talent at making these especially your undeniably cultured and insightful commentary.
I've never encountered that freezing problem and I'm over 150 hours on the PC edition, that must really suck to deal with. I'm actually really interested in seeing how well you can use miracles in pvp since it is really hard to land most of them imo. Can't wait for the next episode :D.
Love ya, Poly! Now that DLC is out it is not as important, as we have all kid of upgrade materials early, but in vanilla you could get one of your weapons to +5 before Watchers. 2 Large Titanite shards from the lizards, 2 from the giants, one pumparumped from a firebomb and one after spooking High Wall dragon. And with pumparumped black firebomb (chunk!) and crystal lizard before Horace in Smouldering Lake you could have +7 weapon before Wolnir. Game performance is bullshit with freezes on location loading and stutter, but it plays good enough on my 5 years old GTX660Ti so I can't complain.
As much as I want to believe Heysel's title alludes to her cooperative tendencies, it is more likely that it simply refers to the xanthous crown atop her head. "Xanthous" is an adjective meaning "yellowish."
Holy crap! The more you know ... I didn't know xanthous was a real word, so thanks a ton! You're probably right about the headgear, but I'm gonna hold tight to the cooperative Heysel nickname. The game being so "open to interpretation" and all I think I might be able to get a way with it.
You know about the ladder trick with those exiles? If you rush to the ladder and go down a couple steps on it, odds are at least one will just straight fall off down to the ground below. Also a tidbit about your mention of the Sage's scroll: it actually unlocks the great farron dart, not logan's sorceries. That's the Logan scroll! I totally get you with those damned freezes too. They happen every 5 to 10 minutes to me for a good 10 seconds on an i5-6600k, 8GB RAM and an R9 380, regardless of graphic settings or framerates. Feel like it came after the last patch, but Dark Souls 3 is an annoyingly lacklustre PC port.
I hadn't seen the ladder trick but was thinking of something like that when watching this playback and commentating. "Ya know ... I bet I can just blaze past those dudes and hit the ladder and not have to fight 'em at all." Thanks for the tip, man! And yeah, RE: freezes. Your specs should be way above what's needed. What's especially frustrating is that DkS2 ran butter-smooth at a consistent 60 fps ... I never got any dips what-so-ever on that thing. DkS1 was a notoriously crappy port and it seems like they regressed to that caliber.
DS2 was a brilliant port since day 1. I ran it on a laptop about equivalent to an xbox 360 at 60 fps at medium-high settings 720p pretty consistently. DS1 is shaky even on my current rig, but DS3 is the only one to have these frustrating freezes that are a complete pain. I'm kinda glad to see I'm not the only person getting them though, I'd honestly thought it could have been a hardware issue since it only happens in DS3, though I guess it's just the poor porting.
This series dead, or we gonna take another year for a purist guide? xD No real hate, love you Poly. You're one of the remaining Souls youtubers I still follow.
Totally. I should have called that out that I was letting them go since I don't think I'm gonna pick anything up that's Twinkling-dependent. Funny, too, as sometimes when you're running around on that ledge you'll spook the lizards off to the side and they'll run away and plummet to their deaths and you'll get some random "1x Twinkling Titanite" message pop up. Good tip!
dude i get the same shit. the halfway fortress bonfire straight up crashes my game 90% of the time, and every few deaths/return from an invasion it crashes immediately.
Infuriating, man. I've seen a ton of stuff about crashing, too ... though I've been lucky enough to only get the stuttering. I've seen mention that it's related to the lighting effects and auto-saving but haven't been able to isolate anything to make it go away completely. I sympathize ...

moooooooarrrr
You know what, I am so tempted to remix that intro song in a DS style...it's calling to me....
Oh yay, someone else that calls her "hai-zle" instead of "Hay-zel"

Just hit the wiki; public opinion is that it's definitely the Drakebloods.
And, dammit! Intro song too quiet ...

yeah ive tried the lighting, but i guess i just learned to... git gud? cant have a spawn crash if I don't die!
Why uplifting intro whistles so low this time around? :^(
Bad sound engineering on my part ... sorry about that, man.
Polygoing Yeah, wtf Poly! haha just messin, good stuff as always.
man Dark Souls 3 looks easier than the first
I do get these random freezes and stutters and it drives me up the fucking wall. My PC runs far better-looking games more smoothly.
Ditto about more-demanding games running smoother. What the hell, DkS3 ... what are you gobbling up!?
