God you don't know how much I've been looking forward for this! I hope you're enjoying playing Dark Souls again as much as I am watching along. Keep up the good work! :)
+Peter Chu Will do, man! Hope you dug it, even if it was a little shorter one. And I'm having an absolute _blast_ playing this again. I'm aiming to release these every Tuesday and Friday until it wraps if that helps, and thanks a ton!
The last time I rolled through the tomb of the giants I had a +9 divine lucy.... needless to say things died pretty fast for me divine weapons are just op in the area. Great video as always Poly :D.
+Codeburst Man, props for rollin' Lucy; I freakin' love that thing but have never been very proficient with it. Maybe I'll create an Occult version to have as an alt weapon for this toon. Good call, and thanks a ton!
I recall those giant-skeleton-dog-things fucking me up in Tomb of the Giants during my very first run through the game. The Tomb was just a frightening place in general back when I wasn't comfortable with all the zones. Also, I've actually never watched a full speed run of Dark Souls, but I've seen various routes/strategies for going through the Tomb that are jaw-dropping. I just think of the way I struggled, stumbling through the darkness, then compare it to the way the most knowledgeable people swiftly leap-through nothingness and navigate their way to Nito effortlessly. Really amazing stuff. I've been a silent viewer for this series, but it's damn good and I love how in-depth you go. Are you playing through the game currently, or is this footage from awhile back? Apologies if you've already touched on this.
+ReploidZero Ditto, RE: struggling in the Tomb. I'd say to this day it's still the area of the game I'm least familiar with by a long shot. The first time I ever looked up a vid on routes I saw some dude dive into nothing, roll into nothing, roll in the opposite direction into nothing, chug, then drop into nothing ... and suddenly he was at the Leeroy invasion. "What the hell just happened!?" I recorded footage for this mostly during the Xmas holiday and edited it all so it's "commentary ready" ... I'm trying to stay about a week ahead in finishing 'em, as I figured that would be my best chance of actually completing the thing. So the gameplay is from a while ago and the commentaries are about a week delayed in release. Watching some of this stuff back bugs me, because I'll spot, "Damn, why didn't I ... ?" moments or feel, "Shit, I could have done a lot better with that," but - again, in the interest of JUST FINISH IT! - I'm trying to be a little less nit-picky and make it more of a casual run that accomplishes some goals and is (hopefully) just a fun throwback for people. Thanks in spades as always, man!
Hey dude, 2 things about the catacombs. You can do those first 2 drops in 1 drop (from the tiny bridge just before the first skele archer). And Paladin Leeroy is a reference to leeroy jenkins (acording to miyazaki, so pretty reliable source)
+Mista Charisma Thanks, man! I screwed up the drop at the end and rolled into the landing instead of off the ledge down to the platform below. When I watched it back I noticed I missed the first drop after the bridge, too. When capturing the footage I remember thinking, "I feel like I missed a shortcut back there ... " the whole time I was running through that necromancer area with the Lucerne. I had no idea Leeroy was a shout-out to Leeroy; that's awesome and suddenly makes sense that he has kind of a goofy name. Thanks for clue'ing me in!
Polygoing Yeah the Leeroy thing is kinda hilarious. His AI is actually different to other NPC's too, he doesn't follow the player, he just kind of wanders off and does his own thing. He's a one-of-a-kind!
Actually you can roll-drop to the very same platform above Leroy summon just after the first bridge in The Catacombs. That is some crazy level design, as devs clearly intended you to do so. I would like to know if they were aware of all the other mostly used shortcuts - Blighttown drop is still impossible for me, and I don't think I'll ever try to skip Ceaseless. Hell, sometimes I think even Duke's skip was intended. Somehow I always thought that Paladin Leroy is a straight reference to Leroy Jenkins. Though I am not even sure if Jenkins was a Paladin class. Whenever i build a pvp character I focus on stamina before hp. I might be very squishy until the char is done, but my actions are less limited in a fight.
+Gustaw Gnuśny The whole time I was sprinting through that first necromancer area I was thinking, "Dude, I missed something ... I shouldn't have to do it like this." Good call, and thanks! I'm definitely starting to feel the short stamina bar; the char won't have a full 40 in Endurance but I do need to raise it a bit more to wear my intended costume ... so hopefully that mitigates some of the out-of-breath instances. Often one can live with sub-par damage or spells/miracles/pyro that aren't breaking any records, but with the short stamina bar the character definitely feels gimped; your approach makes a ton of sense. Thanks, man!
Im pretty sure tomb of the giants is probably just a tomb for giants. But what if it refers to people of great importance or note. Like he was " a giant in his field" .But word play aside great video as always man!
+Wifitoaster Oh, interesting ... so after you slay Orny he'd be buried down in the Tomb. Something about the "just a place for dead giants" seems wholly unsatisfying. Regardless, thanks a ton, dude!
Dear PolyGoing, I don't know lately I'm not accepting Poly lately. I don't know how to love Poly lately. I'm really very lost in voice of Poly lately. I'm lots and lots of missed videos of Poly lately. Goodnight.
+Dexter Vepps No Sanctus, alas. Awesome shield and super fancy, fitting of the build ... but we're sticking with the Crest. I totally spaced on even mentioning it, along with the Paladin set and Leeroy's return when he's in murder/death/kill mode.
I never knew about the second bonfire in Tomb of giants. It's cool to still learn stuff about this game this late in its life cycle.
WHO'S THE GREATEST WARRIOR EVER!?
A HERO OF RENOWN!
WHO SLAYED AN EVIL OCEAN!
WHO CAST THE LICH KING DOWN!
BILLY!!!
BIIIIIIIIIIIIILLYYYYYYYYY!!!
+Jakuzure Nonon Oh, that made me laugh. I had to go rewatch that just for jollies. I think it's totally the same Billy.
God you don't know how much I've been looking forward for this! I hope you're enjoying playing Dark Souls again as much as I am watching along. Keep up the good work! :)

Paladin Leeroy is a reference to Leeroy Jenkins. It's a World of Warcraft meme.

at the beginning there is an easier jump you can do.

Wifitoaster, have you embraced the great ideas of communism? Also, I've never really thought about the tomb of the giants lore wise.
haha cant say i have XD, yeah its so cool imo that in dark souls most things have a purpose and each person can find the meaning to it for themselves
I'm always waiting for ya.
no.
No!
NO!!
Phil, STOP!!!
NOT THE PLAGUE BABIES!!!
+Paladin Leeroy Man, the worst part was Garl taunting you from back up on the ledge ...
Polygoing Well, I'm always being taunted while on a ledge ._. Garl was cool though, he's my brother in arms. Either that or I'm just a copy of him.

+Polygoing yeah, I was kinda confused why no leeroy. crest shield is awesome though, so that makes sense.
