It’s easy to access until you move…and it is not consistently accessed while you’re on the ground. Lean forward and the knife is swinging away from your chest in midair…not east to get ahold of. When you only set at a desk or practice standing erect sure you can get to it, but in the chaos of an entangled fight your chances of actually getting it out are pretty minimal.

A knife is only a tool. When your life is in danger you need to be doing anything you can to defend yourself. If you watch all my videos, I always talk about using knives as the last route for self defense, not first. I recommend people carrying pepper sprays and other non lethal weapons for defense. But in case you need to use a knife, you need to use it anyhow. I agree training is important, but the lack of it shouldn’t stop an untrained person from using a knife. But yes, never should anyone start a fight with a knife or use it as an upper hand in a fight which you’re also fueling. It should always be used as the last resort. Knives are the only proven killing tool and that's why you shouldn't. You get hit and the timer starts. The first thing I tell these boys and girls with their Keychain pepper spray is throw it away. More than likely you're gonna spray yourself. You need to study Actual self defense instances, the everyday man and women is not going to be able to proper slash and stab with a knife to be affective or use pepper spray. Knife fights end up with a loser dead in the street and the winner dead at the hospital. Go start in Europe, look at London breaking records for murders all by what? Knives.
