They were gathered by Donnie, it was a matter of luck, Joe was the last added, because Mark, Donnie’s brother was invited out Yes! They sang well and sing well in love and also dance well
I saw them in concert a few weeks ago....they are amazing live! They not only sound good but they look great and they really put on a great show....very entertaining and just so fun to watch! I hope you keep reacting to them they have so many good songs. They are talented even before they got together as a group most of them were already singing in church choirs and break dancing in the streets of thier home town. You should check out some of their most recent stuff.

Since you brought up New Edition, here's a history lesson. Maurice Starr was their producer. He was looking to put together what he called a "white New Edition". This is what he came up with. They were getting no attention until Starr got them booked on "Showtime at the Apollo". The black community was their catalyst. R&B stations started playing "Please Don't Go Girl" and it went mainstream to the delight of little white girls (like me) everywhere!
I know you’ll enjoy this rabbit hole. They’re pretty cool! You’re right it was lighter and much more fun in those times. Videos and music were top tier back then.
They were sort of "assembled" but they were largely from the same neighborhood and were friends/classmates. So, in this case, the luck was finding 4/5 of the group pretty much in the same place!
Just saw them in concert last week and they are AMAZING!! Probably even better than back in the day. So good!! "If You Go Away" is one of their ballads that shows off their vocals. Love it! BTW Jordan, who is the lead singer here, can still dance like that!! I hate that they had so much unfair criticism back in the day. For not being able to sing, etc. Clearly, if you've ever seen them in concert, none of it is true.
Maurice Starr who discovered New Edition saw the need in the market for a white boy band and created New Kids. You should watch the Battle of Boston where both groups perform together
Love your reaction 🔥 NKOTB was my first concert 🤖💚🧡💛💙❤️ This summer taking my son to Magic Summer Tour 🎉🎉🎉 Can't wait! Please react to more by them 🫶🫶🫶 Love your energy
New Kids was popular back in mid 80s to early 90s.. I was a child around that time.. I grew up with new kids ... and nysnc and bsb was my teen yrs.. back then it's all talent.. everything was there vocals and a band.. they didn't have autotune.. or anything like it.. so it was all pure talent and fun.. and pop
NKOTB we’re all elementary school friends and Donnie Wahlburg was discovered by Maurice (founded New Edition first) and Donnie recruited his friends and talent agent/producer Maurice discovered Joe MacIntyre youngest kid (12) and brought him on board. They were all just kids when they started out and NKOTB are still together and touring! Young Joe just turned 50! They are still amazing!
This was the soundtrack of elementary school days. I like your take on people who can sing AND dance. I always assumed if you have rhythm and can follow the beat, you can do both.
They sound this way live too. People had real bonafide talent back then and everyone was multi talented. That was the norm, now that’s a bit of an anomaly.
I just saw them a few weeks ago and Joey still can sing this song! He’s also going to be in another broadway musical this year, I believe. The group just released another album and it is fire! 🔥 I enjoyed your reaction to this one! 🎉
If you listen to other songs of theirs, you will hear other members voices. Jordan is the lead singer here but Joey is lead singer in some of my favorite songs of theirs. I spent a lot of time around these guys growing up in Boston with my sister back then when she was dating Danny
Eu sou muito grata por ter tido isso na minha adolescência eu amo boy band New kid on the block sou muito muito feliz e grata por ter feito parte da minha vida emocionalmente feliz I Love you
The new kids weren't put together like a lot of groups. Maurice Star (manager of the new edition, too) wanted to put together another Boston group, found Donnie Wahlberg, and recruited his friends. It ended up just being magic :)
This was not luck this group. Maurice star was mad about new edition and Bobby leaving He went on a search for white equivalent. Tysm for this, keep digging and doing their songs!
Fun fact: Jordan wasn't the original "lead singer." It was actually Joey, the young blonde one. After their first album and first 2 singles flopped (with Joey as lead singer), then Jordan became the lead singer. And Joey has a beautiful singing voice, so I don't know why the songs and album didn't do so well. I guess Jordan appealed to the fans more. Joey doesn't sing too many solos after the first album either, which is a bummer, because he really is a good singer. And Jordan (the lead singer) has a falsetto to die for. 😍
They choreographed their own stuff, wrote their own stuff didn’t use autotune. They were it.
They didn't write even half of their own stuff.
That said, I still love them.
In the 80 and 90s it was about talent. Nowadays it's all about looks.
Right 👍

I thought I saw Jon missing in the scene on the stairs? Wow! Didnt know that. Now I know I'm at crazy!
The 80s we're the best!!! It was so fun and carefree
Just went to see Tommy kiefer (Cinderella) and winger Saturday. All these years later i do not miss them when they're within 100 miles

Yup. They sounded great live. It’s mostly the lead (Jordan Knight) on this track.
I know you’ll enjoy this rabbit hole. They’re pretty cool!

Yes 1990 Providence!! Pls do! They Sound great live plus Jordan's dancing is 🔥 loved your reaction 😄
They sound this way live too. People had real bonafide talent back then and everyone was multi talented. That was the norm, now that’s a bit of an anomaly.
We all tried to learn all their moves. Course no one could dance like they could. I saw them at 14. I'm 49 now. It was my first concert.
9:00 Nice moves man :D

The main singer of this song Jordan Knight was the heart throb because my daughter was in love with him as was all her friends.😂❤
They sound the very same live as well.
For any'80s and '90s kids here: The "Captain Planet" cartoon theme song in the end credits took this tune and added different lyrics.
Best boy band ever and I'm not really a big boy band fan❤❤❤❤
If you listen to other songs of theirs, you will hear other members voices. Jordan is the lead singer here but Joey is lead singer in some of my favorite songs of theirs. I spent a lot of time around these guys growing up in Boston with my sister back then when she was dating Danny
Got floor seats a week from today to see them in Charlotte! ❤️❤️

Best Reaction 😂😂
Joey and Donnie Wahlberg have gone on to do some acting as well so you should check that out. I know Donnie was on Blue Bloods.
Oh yeah their wasn’t a concert my crew didn’t see back then, & yes they sound the same, & sometimes better if they were really feeling it.
Please react to George Michael and Mary J Blige's version of "As". AMAZING song.
