AHhhh yes the Lost Metal! Thank you for reminding me. I know, I wonder if this will be the majority of the connections - so like once the actual book comes out, there won't be as much to cover afterwards - or if it'll be so much I can make an entire other video about it.
@@Bookborn it would not surprise me if that video is shorter because many of the connections in the preview chapters took quite some explaining. On that topic, I feel like the Wind and Truth connections video will be epic in length 🤣
I was freaking out on all the tiny little lore we get just from these sample chapters. Can't wait to read this one even though it's got SotD repeated in here as well. I can't believe Nazh is dead! I hope Khriss is ok. Speaking of being ok, hope you feel better soon!
Nahz probably dies while adventuring with Nikki is my thought. When he met dead Kelsier he was like "you can't just decide to be like this, there are certain rights and rituals you must do!", and I think that means he knows how to make a shade into a sentient being, so he probably did the things he needs to so that when he dies and turns into a shade he'll stay sentient
I pretty sure nazh and khriss also show up in secret history. Can't remember his part in mistborn era 2 though. I did kind of the same as you. Didn't read anything about the secret projects last year but this time I'm all in for information about it ❤ thank you for this video and get well soon ❤
I had no idea that Frost is mentioned in Words of Radiance! When I read the first Stormlight Archive books most cosmere connections went right over my head. Might be time for a reread before Wind and Truth comes out :).
LOL. Cut your loses. Every time I saw the word I have to repronounce it until I get it right. The best I can write it phonetically would be add-owe-nalls-ium My worry is magic system dumps. I started feeing it in Rhythm of War. It continued into The Lost Medal, and on into The Sunlit Man. The dumps are really starting to overshadow story.
This was an interesting video. I learned some things and was reminded of some things. I read Mistborn 11 years ago, and I've been a Sanderson fan since that time. I've read everything he's written except the Alcatraz books. I still don't think i knew half these connections you mentioned. I'm not good at theorizing. I just take the books as they come. I just got back from 2 weeks in Peru last week, and I've been sick ever since. I sound just like you do right now. Lol. Damn airport germs!
Honeslty I think that’s great. I’m tired of people pretending you can’t enjoy the books if you don’t know all the connections! You absolutely can! Sometimes it’s fun to find them all and other times I just want to read the story. But sorry you’re sick 😭 speedy recovery!
So I'm a huge Sanderson fan... and most of this went over my head, lol.😂 I just don't remember details i guess. Also, I WILL say that I did love the Sunlit Man as a story. But I know that's the one that has people divided. Sorry you're sick! Rest up and get better soon!
I do think it’s fair that he can occasionally make a “high connectivity” book that you maybe shouldn’t start from time time so long as it doesn’t become the standard. I like having some deep end content.
I’m also interested in exploring more of the Scadrian oppression - I’m curious how much is resulting from some of the Harmony/Discord stuff that seems to be being set up vs Thaidakar influencing things
As someone who has never read the cosmere, the scale of this is way wilder than I thought it was (half the words in this video are incomprehensible to me). This has me thinking maybe i should get to reading the cosmere..
I was actually thinking I should make a beginner video where I describe all the terms haha like I was trying to make it newbie accessible and realized that most things I was saying probably made no sense 🤣
Last year I almost completed my Cosmere read-through. The only ones I've yet to finish are Rythm of War and Sunlit Man. The former I'm more than half way through and I'll read the Sunlit Man when I'm finished with Rythm of War. Therefore I'm quite excited to read Emberdark with all of the connections.
I thought you sounded like you might be a little under the weather, but until you said something, I didn't want to be like, "Get well soon!" and have you be like, "What? No, this is a thing I'm doing--like, I'm trying to sound chill and subdued." Anyway, interesting Nazh fact: he's Isaac Stewart's character, and Sanderson is just borrowing him (as he also did in Secret History). Isaac is the one who does all those maps and such, and he makes up all the notes from Nazh. He also wrote the Nikki Savage stories in the Era 2 broadsheets, where Nazh appears. I'm pretty sure that Nazh will die in the Nikki Savage book(s) he's writing.
Lmao no 😭😭 I laughed so hard when I was editing … I thought I sounded normal while filming and then it was like ASMR when I played it back 🤣 I know I thought that detail about Isaac was so cool! And cool that we get to see more of the character here
I think Brandon confirmed this is going to be the latest book, chronologically. That's wild given the flashback in it was the one we thought was latest before 😅.
I love that you are absolutely aweful at pronouncing names; so am I. Lol. I have heard some of these names thousands of times and still struggle with many of them.
I don't read Sanderson's first Secret project. There were too many book tubers reviews/ opinions varied from book to book there was no consistency in the quality of the writings. I will be passing on this adventure as well. ( So many more books to read anyway).
You should read and make your own decision on it, not just rely on someones review. One person may love it, one may hate it. Read and find out for yourself. The secret projects are all great books, except for maybe frugal wizard. But again, read and decide for yourself. Seems weird to let random people make decisions for you.
@xraysandaliens the secret project was not even on my list. This was very unorthodox to have other people decide for me. I did however have like 20 other books to read at the time. I may come back and read his secret project books at some point.
@@tonycarel1785 I guess I’m biased because I’m a huge Sanderson nerd and read anything Cosmere that he writes. But the secret projects are really worth reading if you like his other Cosmere books. But, you’ll just have to decide for yourself. Take care
@xraysandaliens I understand what you are saying. I currently live in Lincoln, NE where Sanderson's was Born and raised. I am too a fan of his works. I may do the audible version just have to wait a couple of months to do that for I am an avid reader. I tend to read 3 books at one time so as of now my plate is full and have a few more books to read before I can get back to his books. Wish me luck. Have a great day!
Good job, Bookborn! Brandon has since settled on “Isles of the Emberdark“.
Yeah, RIP Nazh - his uhm condition is new.
I’m very excited for this book!
Just an update, Brandon has since indicated during a livestream that he's pretty well settled on the title being the full "Isles of the Emberdark."
Oooh thanks for the info! I'm happy because I preferred that title haha
@@Bookborn Same!
The most hype part of the chapter for me was the Radiant (almost certainly a Skybreaker) showing up and busting out a Shardgun
Why didn’t I talk about that part lmao am I crazy? It for sure was a radiant in armor! And people are going to lose their minds over the shard gun 😭
It's crazy that the three chapters had so many cosmere connections you made a 20 minute video on it.
The other glimps of a Sho Del was in Lost Metal.

Not sure if your kids are sleeping or you are sick but either way appreciate you taking the time you have to give us this video. thank you.

You’re totally right they DO appear in secret history. I totally forgot about that part! Man I need to reread that novella.
@@Bookborn Secret History is so awesome. You could do a cosmere connections video about that.

Awakened metalmind could be some form of AI for future Cosmere.
I was also thinking that an awakened metal kind was going to function like AI
Coming from Instagram and you not knowing how to pronounce Aldonalsium is so relatable 😂

A small thing to add, we have also seen a little bit of aether in The Way of Kings (maybe Oathbringer too but I don’t remember that one as much)
