The 2024 Africa Twin is an incredible improvement on the release of the 2020 model when it was upgraded to the current 1,084cc motor. The torque has increased and is much smoother and more measured in its deployment from zero to high rpm. It really is a pearler of a twin motor with a great traditional 'twin' sound with the upgraded 2024 muffler. I'm a fan and a Honda tragic from way back and can hardly wait to own one. I would very much like to buy the '25 model next year. HOWEVER, Honda will NOT be getting my money until at least some or all of the following glitches/negatives are resolved: 1) The atrociously long time it takes to boot the TFT screen and THEN it requires a touch on an 'OK' button before giving you access. WTF Honda?! No other manufacturers spoil the ride experience like this so WTF Honda?! 2) The switchgear needs an overhaul - simplify it AND include backlighting 3) An easy way to get the seat height BELOW 800mm. Please don't try to tell me it can't be done Honda. I'm 5'6" (167cm) and I would like to be able to flatfoot. 795mm seat height is a worthy goal Honda. 4) For the top-of-the-line model (mainly road use owners) ditch those ridiculous spoked wheels and give us some tasteful forged cast aluminium wheels. Cleaning spokes is an absolute nightmare. We already have enough cleaning with the chain drive, so, please Honda - some alloys. 5) For two-up touring it most definitely needs some more power. They should either bump the capacity to 1250cc for another 30hp OR, preferably, finally release the supercharged model on which they hold a Japanese patent and as such has been in development since 2019. One would think that simply in the name of competition with the Multistradas, GS1300s, Triumphs et al, Honda would want to increase the power at least somewhat. It is great for low speed stuff but 2-up with luggage on the highway it does need quite a bit more. Please! (from all reports the supercharger design is for low-mid range torque - not meant to be a high-rev Kawasaki H2 competitor). 6) Not mandatory for my purchase but, with DCT, a reverse gear for parking such a heavy baby would be handy. You'd only need 'impulse power' Scotty :-) 7) Does that great sounding rear muffler really have to be the size of a boat anchor? So there's my list of gripes for a bike I love a lot. My wishlist. How about it Honda - all for '25?
I have a 2021 1100 dct. Its not the most powerful, possibly not the best offroad? Yet it has a character and charm the others dont! I have thought about swapping her, but they not as pretty, dont have that thumping exhaust sound! Also, that dct! I dont want a manual box ever again! One thing i would like, heated comfort seat!
A motorcycle that was affordable starting at 11k, now it's way more than 15k and rising. Plus, every year you keep changing colors and raising the price. 🤦 That's a good way to go to other brands. 👌
I dont know about other brands, but what about inflation in world? To produce it, it doesnt cost the same anymore. What about additions/improvements? They cost also... Also ask your self about future investments, service etc... cheaper option will become expensive over time. CB500 2019 was 6.8k, 2023 is 7.5k...

What does a motorcycle have that costs so much money actually? 😅🤦 What does that motorcycle have that make her cost more than, I'll give a BIG example, a 40/50hp tractor. It has bigger everything, complex hydraulics (for some at least), a big gearbox with 12+12gears (or more), a big engine with 3 or 4 cylinder diesel engine with expensive fuel pumps and injectors, most of them with high pressure fuel pumps and expensive piezoelectric injectors, big diferencials, electro hydraulic PTO clutches etc. A similar price car is also way more than that motorcycle has to offer. Way bigger vehicles with a bunch more of metal, mechanics and/or hidraulics, etc, right!? The same with maintenance of motorcycles with ridiculous prices for simple, easy and quick things, but that's another story. 😅 Honda has an entire production of that model since it's release practically unchanged since there's no big development changes made to the bike. Now: Prices of metal is going down; Prices of transportation is going down; People are getting the same paycheck every day/week/month; Etc. Did you know that the cost of transport in containers from Asia/India to the rest of the world reached over 20k during COVID and nowadays got back to 3/4/5k per container? That bike isn't made with rare metals, it doesn't have to of the line, NASA like technology or a Moto GP engine with fine tolerances and top spec performance. So, again, why that ridículous price increase by Honda? One more reason to go to other more premium brands that have bikes on that price range like Ducati or BMW. 👌 The same with the NC750X, one of the most basic motorcycles on the market with price increases every year for NOTHING. So, tell more about that "InFlAtIoN" 🥴 you guys were talking about. It's a niche market and people just pay for it, that's it, that's the reason for the raising prices.

If some company could make an 1100cc bike for a lot cheaper than this then they would to try and take market share from honda, like suzuki or kawasaki, its cutthroat competition in adventure bike segment, and plenty of tractor companies would do well by selling high margin motorcycles instead of tractors. I expected the 2024 to have a rear swingarm design worthy of this bike's price, but once again I was disappointed. A weldment that looks like a test prototype, or a repaired swingarm after an accident. The CRF 1000 had a nice swingarm design, so did the NT 1100, but this is a flop. You will not find another brand that would solve it in such an amateurish way. I was already ready to buy a crf 1100 model 2024, but the sloppy swingarm and the twisting handlebars got in the way. I expected a correction from Honda, but it did not happen. So I invest money in another brand. Honda let me down.
