I got a Monstera Standleyana and Philodendron Tortum at Walmart today! They were both $20 🤩! Big box stores are really stepping up their game!
Wow!!! Fantastic plant finds!!
I got two standleyana at Walmart last week. I picked out the best three stems with the most variegation and out them on a moss. It looks amazing!
Oh my! I hope we get them here soon. Unfortunately it takes a while to get the nice plants around my area. Although this year we had so many rare finds especially in the Home Depot and lately in Krogers/Ralphs grocery stores! 😊
Your plant ministry is everything. You help to make plant shopping more informed, fun, and efficient. 😊
Funny I was at my local HD e so excited seeing the Florida and Mayoi and was telling people there shopping but they couldn’t care less cause they didn’t know them 😂. I got both and that ficus so colorful and amazing
Oh wow!
The pink panther Transcantia grows massively fast. Its will grow to a point that it suffocates itself unless you weed it out every couple weeks.
Thanks for the tip!
Found Ring of fire at my local Ralph’s(Kroger) grocery stored for $14.99! They also had white wizards and ficus moonshine, philodendrons paraíso verde! Those I got for $9 each! The Home Depot had philodendron sodiroi 😮 whale fins, painted lady philodendron, confetti and milk confetti syngoniums this year we got so many variety it was so exiting to finally get “rare” finds 😊
You do such a great job filming! I never get dizzy😂
Oh thank you!
Ashley, I work for Home Depot in NJ, yes we are getting in some fabulous unicorn plants from Proven Winners. The vining Philodendrons like the Florida Green or the Mayoi are way kool, but they are a PIA to grow because they want to grab onto something to take root like a moss pole...or a tree..LOL !!! That being said, soon there won't be any unicorn plants because they are being mass produced like the usual everyday houseplant these days, I'm sure that the variegated Thai Monstera will be next on the list to be mass produced. But I have to say that it is exciting to see these beautiful plants come in, I'm in awe looking at them.
💚💚
Thai constellation is already being mass produced! One of the garden centers I go to (local to Ashley) had them for $105. I believe Monrovia produced them.
I found a fantastic Hoya pubacaylix not sure which variety it is exactly but I love it. I know that doesn't seem "rare" but it has been super hard to find a any Hoya locally so I was over the moon 😁
These videos are so much fun. I love shopping with you. I found a Florida Green Philodendron at Trader Joe’s last month and it has become my favorite plant. It just looks so funky and cool.
I bought a Summer Glory from Home Depot last month, it was a great find. I'm finally seeing PPPs at the Home Depot near me (Bay Area in CA). They were $50, not the greatest deal but they did have nice variegation.
That is awesome!
Uncommon and variegated gap is closing thanks to tissue culture. I’m so glad.
Beautiful🌹🌹😮😮❤❤
Thank you! 😊
Agleonemas are gorgeous!!! Great selections of so many different plants🤗🌱💚🌱
i have seen.variegated neon pothos in Lowes , they are stunning
That is a great find!
I saw a few Hilo Beauty at our HD in ST, Croix for $18! It was a nice surprise and i hope to see more new plants like at yours
Incredible! Thanks for sharing!
Now is a really good time for plant shopping, the big box stores will be moving them out to make room for Christmas.
My big box stores are 😖😝 for the season where I live at,
Try again in the spring I Guess ✔️✔️
@@PSYCHDEGREE63 Yeah I saw the decorations, they turn space into Christmas tree lots and then there isn't much to chose from, just the misfit plants nobody wanted.
I just got an Alocasia Nairobi Nights. I also got a small variegated Cucullata for $12 at a shop near me. The variegation is lime on mine. It's beautiful.
The N'Joy's never have dotting or speckling on them, and the Pearls and Jades do.
Thx!
I want a philodendron tortum to show up somewhere soon! I do not want to have to order online! ❤️
I want one too!
The Walmart near me had some but they looked terrible so I couldn't get one. The leaves were so rotted if you barely touched them they just fell off in a goopy mess.
I found a philodendron ring of fire at my local Fry's!!
Woo hoo!!! Congrats!!!
Cactus Club is the best, by far, hands down! Sometimes, I just go into the store to browse and talk to Ivy. But, I always end up getting a plant! 😁 Ivy takes great care of the plants and has an amazing knowledge of plants. I have heard of people traveling 1.5-2 hours to get to the Cactus Club. It’s just that good! Speaking of which, I haven’t seen Ivy in a while. I might need to go over there to browse…. 😉
By the way, if anyone sees a philodendron tortum at a Charlotte area big box let me know. Costa farms has released them.
Believe it or not, I got a Philodendron Mayoi from Home Depot on South Blvd in Charlotte several months ago. That HD seems to be more for builders and I usually don’t find rare plants there.
I need another Goodwill haul, love when you go shopping there 😊
I can make that happen! 😉
Those Proven Winners Florida Green are great! I got a ton of props from mine and I recently put them back in the pot. There are two new growth points from the butt where I chopped it. There were two plants in the pot when I bought it and now there's 5 total, with two more props still in the bin!
Wonderful!
I just got my first mayoi!! (Sorry if its spelled wrong lol.) They gave me a discount as it was slightly damaged but its still so beautiful with new leaves coming through ❤😊
New here - great video! Loved the pretty Calatheas at both stores. And the lovely pink Syngoniums!
Thanks so much! 😊
I put a basil cutting in with my Golden Pothos cuttings about 2 days ago! Interested to see how much quicker they root
I got a huge Alocasia stingray at home depot for half off in the spring, due to about four of the leaves being yellow. It's got to be my best plant purchase ever, though, because despite getting both thrips and spider mites, nothing slows that big boy down! He is huge and majestic, resilient, and an absolute showstopper.
What a great find!!
Thanks for that tip Ashley. I have monstera peru that I have had in water trying to root for at least 3 months and I will take a cutting of my pothos now. I love my birkin's. If you have any other plant tips lets me know/
Throwing in a wondering dude cutting helps a lot too in my experience!
Glad it was helpful!
I'm so excited about the cactus club!
Me too! They have wonderful plants and I love the people that work there
@LifewithAshleyAnita I just bought two plants from them! I live in Winston-Salem so I'm excited about the fast shipping!
I just got a varagated/sport alocasia cuculata from my local home depot!!
It was such an exciting find!!! There were 3 and only 1 sport 😊
That is awesome!
❤Big Box 📦 Fun 👍🏻
💚💚💚🪴🪴 plant fun!!
I picked up a beautiful Purple Sword at Lowes yesterday, and they also had the Homalomena Selby which I think I will go back and get.
At Home Depot I found a stunning Syngonium with dark green, green and pink variegation. Not sure of the name, no tag. 💚
Beautiful!! Thanks for sharing!
Me: searched every Home Depot, Lowes, and Ace Hardware in the area for years on end and only ever found one alocasia with variegation
Ashley: strolls into Home Depot on a regular basis, "oh look, this one has some variegation"
Lol😂
😂😂🪴
I love your videos! I was so excited to finally find a plant from your video the same week you posted at Home Depot in Greensburg, PA. I got the florida green for half off bc the stems where broken in half from shipping.
That’s great! Thanks for watching!
One day I hope to stumble upon a fire Stix or a frizzle....a girl can dream. Great video!
Love those!! Thanks for watching!
Swung by HD today and bought the Birkin! Thanks for feeding my plant addiction. lol
I saw these alocasia at my store but some of them were covered in spider mites. It was heartbreaking. 😢
I’ve found that a lot of the smaller plants at Lowe’s are marked as “indoor foliage,” with no actual name of the plant. Found a beautiful nerve plant for $6-ish, marked “foliage.” I’ve seen this at Walmart recently, too.. This was a great video, it’s clear that you’re extremely knowledgeable and experienced. My inner plant nerd has been activated! I’m so excited about to stop by Home Depot and a local nursery tomorrow.
Thanks for watching!! 💚💚
I have been looking for a cebu blue for sooooo long. For years I see people find them at big box atores and have been waiting for them to turn up by me. I’ve resisted the urge to buy cuttings online. And I know when I do finally find it it’s gonna be like one of those golden plant moments we all want haha. Cebu blue might just be run of the mill to them but to me where I’m at it’s turned into a unicorn plant haha
Great choice! It’s a beauty!
Yes wait, recently they’ve been popping up here for $15 at local Home Depot so just keep checking for them 😊
@@alvaropinales4624 really!? I really hope it does that by me! You wouldn’t by chance be in the upper Midwest would you? That’s where I’m at and I feel like they are never gonna bring that here haha
I get a stingray and staghorn fern from home depot a few weeks ago.
Great finds!!
I got what I thought was a marble queen but it so white now I’m thinking it may be a snow queen our Home Depot also has the stingray and zebrina so I picked up both of those I hit the jackpot on all three of these plants they were having a big sale on them at 50% off all plants is I got them for 15.00 each I was in heaven all orchids were 10.00 so went home with a big haul not that I needed them but but in my head I needed them lol 😂
Great plant finds!
The n'joy has no green on the white parts and the pearl n jade does have green spots on the white. I believe 🤔
I saw some really nice Ring of Fires at my local Kroger for 30 bucks.
Wow! I need to go check out a Kroger!
Mayoi and p.Florida grow so fast though 😂. I got a juvenile form in 4" pot for $15, and they already produce mature leaves after 4 months and need repotting. If you buy a mature plant, be prepared they'll take over after a year.
Believe it or not but Fredh Thyme always has a little collection of super cute plants! I got a hanging Goldfish the other day for only 14
Thanks for sharing! 🪴
Was this the kentwood store? I was in there today and the corner display looked the same. I swear the Florida green was the same
Well l must say im live in Mo. And we don't have any of These 😢
At 7:33, there is a large alocasia with dark purple on the leaf undersides. Any idea what that is called? I have one but it was mislabeled as something else. Enjoyed the tours!
Hi Ashley, did you move out of Charlotte, NC? I was expecting big box shops near it.
Hi! No, I still live in Charlotte but my husband works in Grand Rapids a lot and I tag along with him when I can.
Tortums have been reported at Walmart in some of the DFW stores. Haven’t seen one yet though. I hope they are nice. Was kind of disappointed with the Pink Princesses I have seen.
I would love to find a tortum!
These type of alocasias at 8.25 very frequently have sport variegation. Every time I see a batch of these in a store, at least one or two plants have persistent variegation.
Definitely been a lot of them this year!
Did anyone know what the plant was in the upper right corner of the screen when she was showing the Mayoi at 6:02?
I got my ring of fire at Kroger grocery store 😊
Wow!!! That’s incredible!!

If you don’t see your store let them know. They’ve expanded a lot recently.
They’ve had White Knights, Ficus Shivereana, Paraiso Verde, Ring of Fire, and they have a surprise release coming soon. I seen a philodendron Green Green Dreams, philodendron White Berry, philodendron Key Lime, and Pink Lemonade wow 😅 they’re beautiful plants
Hello, I have a question.
We live in north-central Florida, and I have an outside plant. It gets to be about 25° f - 30° f in the winter at night at the worst, I am making a cover to put around it so it doesn't get cold shock, only to use at night. But I am worried about making it too heavy and it getting too warm inside, I don't know, do constant sudden changes in temp affect plants? Like if it's warm at night and then I take it off and it's 45° during the day, and then warm again that night, cold the next day, again and again, is that ok?
Guess it's a good problem to have (I could always just make the cover lighter)
Here in midcoast Maine,we never get the variety of plants you’re showing, plus the plants they do have are drowning in their pots or dried up to a crisp..such a shame😢
So sad!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I picked up the Summer Glory from my Lowes the other day, and they gave me a 50% discount because it looked pretty sad. She's beautiful and I love her. Also picked up the Mayoi and Florida Green a couple weeks ago. I love them all! I knew they had to be uncommon, I've never seen them before in big box shops. 😊
Beautiful choices!
12:19 on the philo sun red or prince of orange... what is that leaf on the bottom left? see some white.. is it variegated or sun bleached? :o
Good eye! I think it was sun bleached but not completely sure!
@@LifewithAshleyAnita wouldnt that be nice ^.^
I feel like we are over due for a thrift haul. 🙂
True! I’ll get on it! 😉
Maybe its just me, but I like Lowes plant shopping better than Home Depot
I was at Home Depot today. Great plants
The Lowe’s in my area are always better than HD
Me too. My main thing is those horrible, ugly self watering planters that HD sells so many of the plants in. I had been a HD gal for home improvement projects for many yrs but once I got into plants 1.5 yrs ago, I like Lowes.
@@jenniferruth812 And Lowes has plant clearance as well lol
Unfortunately, my Home Depot doesn't care for their plants very well. I saw Florida Green that were bad. I saw some tubular snake plants last week at HD for 5.48 but didn't buy one because the tips were brown. After seeing some that were twice as much but looked worse at a local nursery I went back to HD to buy but missed my chance. Do you ever check Trader Joe's? They have a small but everchanging collection of "Foliage" . I bought what looks like a lemon lime for 3.98 a few weeks back and the next week I found what looks like a marble queen for 3.98. They have both doubled in size. This morning I saw a 7.98 philodendron with bright red stems and different color leaves., similar to some you saw. Thinking I might go back and buy it. I always feel like I'm missing something when I don't the name and I'm still new enough at this that I struggle to differentiate between some of the juvenile plants. Thanks for your videos.
Yes, love Trader Joe’s!
I found a varigated Alocasia Polly but it had so much spider mites so I didn’t get it but im regretting it lol
Honestly, probably a wise choice.
Love the shopping trip! I'm a diehard Proven Winner girl! This fall and year they have definitely stepped up the game! Their house plants are so big and healthy and beautiful with great genenics! I love my home depot for them! Lowes on the other hand was a complete disappointment this year! OH DONT BUT COSTA FARM PLANTS!!! I decovered when buying some of their house plants at Lowes they don't take off the hard plastic hydroponic net pot. Your buying a dying plant! The ones I bought was 3 Chinese evergreens and all 3 had 3 different plants in one pot and all 3 was in 3 different hydroponic hard plastic pots! Their roots were completely chocked out and i had to Very carefully cut them off. I tried to tell Lowes about it. Actually taking a plant apart in the store and no one gave a shit! So absolutely don't buy COSTA FARM PLANTS!!!😢
I haven't had any issues with Costa Farms plants, personally. I don't think they use the net pots on every plant.
Found spiral & boobie cacti at a Pike Nursery. $54 each.
I just got the Mayoi and the Florida at HD!
Wow!!! That’s awesome, thanks for sharing!
@@LifewithAshleyAnita and then after that I got a Baltic Blue Pothos marked down 50% off to $9.99, and found a gorgeous Monstera Peru that’s just fabulous!! Those were at Lowe’s!
